hi Nevil,
thanks for your input once more
Aside from what Sam did regarding breeding etc , Sam has really done lots of research , was first to experiment with a lot of things and has shared a lot from his knowledge online for all to read. You , I , whoever , may not like his character or whatever..but he has certainly contributed in the canna scene and understanding of the plant more than most. So like with you , Shanti etc..credit should given..where its due.
hi Resinbud,
LaNina uses a pure Haze , neither A or C according to Shanti and it is a female plant. Unless otherwise stated..this is the HazeB from Nevs selection , the A and C males also come from. I really loved the hazy LaNina f1s , had very nice fuel like taste and upflifting euphoric high. I think a hazy LaNina crossed to NH might worth a try..
hi Bigherb,
"the thai leaning haze had nothin to do wit OHAZE aka haze bros haze ,becaz thai had nothin to do with the lineage ,until SAMS as he said tried to save the line
thus isay SAMS haze and nevs stock is from haze /haze hybrids created after 76 or 81 "
According to Sam Haze started as Mex crossed to Colombian then S. Indian was added and Thai was added last , around '74 , one year give or take, according to Sam's haze development dates. Sam never said that he added Thai to the Haze , it was already added when the bros were developing the haze and it was before he got seeds and grew haze himself. So where do you base your claim ?
If not mistaken Sam said he gave the Thai genetics (used in Haze) to the Haze Bros breeders of O.Haze. Whether this is true I can't say..but eitherway it was the HzBros that used that Thai , in their greenhouses not Sam in his garden.
Afterall..Nev said the haze packs looked really old and the labels had dates on them.

you know where i base my claim ,we hav discussed this many times
i will not add anymore info until i put out my article out
i was just trying to not hav you lookinto somthing that is not there
my claims that i make now as for proof or where i get my opinion
http://www.icmag.com/ic/picture.php?albumid=8747&pictureid=191745
as i have stated in my last few post why havnt we seen SAMS offer the parents he has used or given to the brothers ,if their are numerous pure offerings
why is sams not sellin the seeds of the parents he used to create the skunk and ohaze if hes sellin pure malawi ,pure napali, south indian 1-3 all from the first seed catalouge of 81 sacred seeds
then again the acapulco gold sams list in CC catalouge #4 says produced in 84 in mexico ,no seeds grown yet ,although her offers a indian sat ,it says developed on usa east coast wtf
Sam never said that he added Thai to the Haze , it was already added when the bros were developing the haze and it was before he got seeds and grew haze himself. So where do you base your claim ?
some supporting quotes that show quite the opposite

I knew the Haze Brothers, they were both very close neighbors and friends of my family, I helped them with their work. I knew them before they grew the Original Haze and after they stopped growing the Original Haze.
Wrong, I said the posts that claimed that Original Haze was developed in hippie communes was BS. RCC had it right except for OHaze had many males used, over many years, Colombian, Mex gold, O Haze, some Thai, a little S Indian.

gave the Thai and S Indian Kerala genetics to the Haze Bros to use and they did. They never did add any Ceylon (Sri Lanka) genetics and I am glad because the herb in Ceylon is crap. I lived and traveled in Ceylon several times, and spent time hunting local genetics. All the local sadhu smokers wanted S Indian ganja because it was so much better, they all complained about the lack of good Ceylon herb, and loved to smoke Kerala or Indian/Afghani hash. They all said that Kerala weed was much better then Ceylon weed, they should know.

not to go tit for tat as it is all respect and love
but i can say the same to you ,soo where do you base your claim ,if you believe SAMS had the 69/70 stock nev spoke of and the thai was added the second or third year how does your statement make sense ,the thai was added before he got seeds but he had stock of 69/70 and 66 that doesnt add up ,its not possible ,more soo how do you know wen SAMS receieved his stock/first grew haze its never been posted by him nor anyone else
another note
in the quoted post below it seems SAMS agrees there were 4 5 stated varieties or phenos the haze,as ive mentioned to neville if all of these sativas were crossed in the fashion SAMS mentions dont you think we would see more variation

They experimented, taking a variety of pure sativas and crossing them. A combination of several sativas, including a Mexican/Columbian and some Thai, resulting in a long season sativa that produced great results outdoors just inland of Monnterey. The brothers ggrew in the mountains, where their crop was protected from the wind but still recieved the tremendous amount of light needed to develop big buds. When mature their plants werre very tall between six-twelve, with long thin buds that produced whispy red pistils. The aroma of the dried buds and smoke was complex and sweet, and the high it produced was very intense and cerebral with a psychedelic edge. Known as the Haze. the variety became popular in the Bay Area of California during trhe next decade.
The Haze brothers eventually retired, but first they made a visit to the Netherlands, where they met with Nevil, a breeder whos name has often been associated with the Haze and its hybrids. Nevil acquired Haze seeds from them, preserving the strain and using it for many crosses. He found that a pure Haze was a difficult variety to grow, requiring proffesional care and alot of patience because of its long season.. but it was very good for hybridization. Today, the Haze variety appears in many crosses that are available, and remains a favourite of many sativa connoisseurs.

Only problem is this is not true, it is made up lies. The Haze Brothers never came to Holland . PEROID!
The same with the post by No Where-Man,
"Tracing back the history of the "queen of sativas" is like putting together a puzzle with many piecs of information that have been reported by several breeders and other insiders in recent decades."
It has very little truth and is just a bunch of lies made up by by the author.
