Grail: The Ultimate Haze Hybrid

Funny you mention early mullum Channa! Anyone, just go read the thread at ICMag Bushweed started on "Kangativa's Mullimbimby Madness" and one can learn there ARE earlier maturing Sativas (that are VERY HAZE-LIKE, states Nevil) that are just like the longer versions.

Nevil said that a Haze bud could be thrown into a bag of Mullum and no one would be able to tell!

Cheers,
Sensi

Good to see this thread still kicking.

I might be jumping into the conversation without knowing exactly what you all are talking about. I'll also say that I've been around for awhile but all the crosses of haze get mixed up in my mind and I might not be 100% correct.

The legendary Haze B female was later revealed by shanti to be a Mullum M. This is the one that used in La Nina, and if you read L33t's grow report, and Patrick Star's, too, they both have the most amazing things to say about the high.

My next order will be "the oldest pack of LaNina you have!"

Hey RZA,
The Haze B female and the mother of La Nina are different...the haze B female is dead but the Mullimbimby madness mother is well.

Cheers,
Sensi

you are close,
shanti's mm is the mother of la nina,
but it never had anything to do with haze b, that was nevils plant, a sister to haze A and haze C.

edit: S13 beat me to it.

I am pretty sure that L33t got to the bottom of this in his posts before he left. At least he found where shanti had stated that Haze B was in La Nina and shanti had to retract I guess?

As I said my mind isn't as sharp as it used to be, but I was even part of the thread back then I think...............

The Original female (the one that I didn't keep a clone of) and Haze male A, may have been siblings, but just as likely not.

Haze males A+C were at best half brothers, but certainly shared a common ancestor,
N.

They were all hydrids.

After the first batch of '69 Haze seeds only produced 1 plant, I decided to plant the rest. This produced 5 plants A,B,C,D and E.
Plants B,D and E were females, of which B was the best. I tried all possible combinations and the best was B x C. BC was actually grown commercially alongside 5HzC1, so it was a 10/11 week plant. This fact alone indicated that HzB was a Haze Hybrid to something early. I suspect that most of BC's quality came from Dad.
I planted the rest of the old seeds. One came out. O for Omega. It was a 1970 seed. I suspected that it was only 25% Haze with one parent being Indica. It too did not really pan out.
The males were the "goods". Without those two plants, I think that all would have been lost. If I'd only kept a cutting of the first female, whose genotype was closer to male A. I'm start to get that sad feeling again.

Ah well, you can be thankful that the seeds fell into my hands, otherwise you wouldn't know what I'm talking about.
N.

Edit: sorry wrong quote

Whatever it is, a lil bit of it is coursing through my cannabinoid system as we speak :D

My cut was selected through attrition, it was the only one that I didn't kill off. :) I stepped in shit with that one, and I would LOVE to do a real selection, given the space and time.

I'm KICKING myself for losing the f2's that I made. I left them stashed behind the master bedroom baseboard of a house in the Poconos... ;)

They were all hydrids.

Indeed, haze as we know it at MNS is a poly-hybrid of Thai, Columbian, Mexican and possibly S. Indian (sorry Big Herb if I'm generalizing, ;)). Each growing season they were pollen chucking with the new "import of the year" to the previous seasons plants that were produced by matings of the previous seasons "imports of the year".

Haze is quite possibly the best horticultural accident of the 20th century!

Oh shucks...maybe OG Kush took that mantel!!! Hahahahahaha...totally joking...

That's why there is so much controversy to the origins of haze...it's not like the people making it had set out with a goal in mind like a true professional breeder like Nevil with NH or the grail or SB and MH. They just took the best plants each year and mated them...thus producing tons of mixed pedigrees in seed form.

Cheers,
Sensi

Even when you have a goal, accidents can happen.

deran... would you please define haze in ten words or less

serial stacked 4 way hybrid , se asian, south indian, mexican and columbian

so ask there progeny

not possible bc of recombination

is the same as me saying there is inscense in something I may have hunted down in a 9 or 14 week plant...

defining a strain only by a aroma trait, is like saying all blondes are dumb ;)

add ice in my coke, is my coke not coke?

no its not, its vanilla ice coke (insert flavor of choice), or if its water ice, then its a dilluated coke

You have any pictures of your ohz outdoor.

makes no sense at 45°

but nobody has these plants in circulation any more, so we need the next best thing...

so you have proof of that statement, meaning you visited all growers on this globe to verify ? and no, we dont need the next best thing, blue mauritius stamp - if destroyed - will stay that 4ever, by choosing the next best thing you neglect those you didnt expirienced, thats ignorant, and not suiting you, you know it better

Media hype... you are funny mate... the people growing ganja dont grow anything longer then 9 weeks, ask Greenhouse and see their seed sales. And then you got us, a real small part of the big picture that actually care.

dont judge others by your values

I mean why would you be here if you have already found your grail. Just to make those that dont have original hz look like dummies...

thats simple, i need to prosper and i might miss something, im not making them looking like dummies, they do it already without me, im just correcting false stated half - truths, half truth - nice oxymoron, aint it ;)

I also think that you have not grown enough newer genetics to see that one can find early hz

so of the initial 4 corner stones, that would be a mexican leaning pheno? do you mean that, or do you mean a early strain crossed with another haze hybrid, like NH for example ?
to be honest, most newer genetics i tried (between 50 and 100 strains), most were not worth to remember and a waste of time, like the 90s kali mist or ssh - never understood that hype nowadays

If we can find 16 week phenos why can there not be a fast one

simple, because all thats today left of those 4 corner stones, takes that mentioned time, its not like with NH, were you can find a nl dom pheno, rdy in 9 weeks, bc haze was a annually stacked serial hybrid

But concerning the determination of a particular haze hybrid leaning to A or C, it is not that difficult if one has grown a Haze A or Haze C hybrid with only one othe two present...5Hz, G13/Hz or Afghan Haze (all Haze C hybrids)...and if your really lucky grown the 5 hzA, or G13/hzA. If you get an extreme sat leaning version of one of those you can observe many of the individual haze characteristics (especially if you grow a decent number of seeds). Then if you grow something like NH or MH with A and C present, you then have the difficulty of determining the influence of either unless you've grown them separately.

again , without the initial separate parents, we can only speculate about the progeny, i.e. cross a kush flavor with a skunk flavor and dont get a nordle flavor, get a haze flavor, happens too often, most think that traits , especially aromas, transfer, but thats not always the case with aromas, any parfum designer will second that, take 2 different smells, and get something completely different to those 2, which isnt in any kind related to those 2

Now, take that experience and couple it with the knowledge of haze A and haze C from Nevil, Shanti and YoSammy and it becomes quite easy to pick out Haze A or Haze C LEANING phenotypes. All it takes is a little careful observation.

again, without parents, those are just words for me ;) im stubborn :D

But yes, the ultimate point is that MNS only sells Haze hybrids.

thats more than ok to me, as those are properly named, and i would be the first to enjoy something fast flowering which delivers whats promised, but in those 25 years with those plants there is this factor called empiricism and thats the hardest part about all things concerning haze

Round and round...

Looks like we are in your church again... sheez...

Not fair mate you are taking things out of context, simialr to Jimmy Swaggert and using them to help prove your theory.

not possible bc of recombination

Says you? Ask the gentics about the jade eyes in african people... or the red head women with blue oceans for eyes...

defining a strain only by a aroma trait, is like saying all blondes are dumb ;)

defining a hz strain only by the number of weeks it blooms, is like sayinhg all blondes are dykes;) so I am supposed to take what you previously said subjectively or figuratively now?

no its not, its vanilla ice coke (insert flavor of choice), or if its water ice, then its a dilluated coke

I think you are wrong my elder, orginal coke had coca leaves... good luck trying to find that!

makes no sense at 45°

Exactly my point.

See my post yesterday regarding synonims of unpractical also pm Shanti for a strain list.

so you have proof of that statement, meaning you visited all growers on this globe to verify ? and no, we dont need the next best thing, blue mauritius stamp - if destroyed - will stay that 4ever, by choosing the next best thing you neglect those you didnt expirienced, thats ignorant, and not suiting you, you know it better

Now you are calling me names... come on man... keep up a bit here, I asked you to discuss your comment, remember? So save the saving talk for someone who is attending your services...

Again, figurativly or subjectively, you stated that you have only seen 10 grows from growers of actual hz plants... what is it going to be... how can I find englightenment if I do not have your ohz, or was not in cali in the 60's, surfered and smuggled ganja or meet a man about a horse in mexico...

So it is the next best thing... I am on a grail thread man, and so are you. So you have ohz, why are you looking for another hz then?

The most beautiful ganja plant on our plantet, and you see it black and white.

I know you are older, but it is sad to hear this from your perspective.

dont judge others by your values

I am currently learning my growing values here. Love to be further enlightened to what you think I am missing or not honouring?

For the record, I am trying to work with universal truth, so they are not my values, they are our values, at least I hope they are...

Take care Mr. Deran, I drank a coke after that last post...

not saying this was your situation but one thing haze growers should know is if you take your buds to early your haze might have a speedy high you have to wait until the tric's start to change to amber. I dont find this with all plant but haze definatly the tric's have to atleast start to change other wise it will be real speedy high which i dont prefer

Why do you equate that to just the Haze?

I personally and from experience ( limited as it is to my personal experience ) think all this business of a speedy versus sedentary high based on a couple of more weeks on the vine is utter guff and has no verifiable basis in reality.

How could a a set of chemicals secreted or produced within the cellular head of a trichome over 10 weeks be markedly different given 12 weeks?

With all the strains I've grown have never produced bud from the same clone that given a bit of time produced 2 distinct groups giving 2 marked types of high?

loss of the maintainance of the reducing environment of a living cell once it dies or it's metabolic capacity diminishes leading to oxidation of THC to CBN.

I have, my Angel Heart at 9.5 weeks vs 11.5 weeks. See Wonkadonk's post about couch-lock angel heart vs my report in "the tastiest 9 weeker".

Cheers,
Sensi

Nobody said it was Haze A.

wonkadonk

read your mates post agine.

That plant is not 5Hz leaning...I've grown the Sensi and the new MNS version...that angel heart pheno is something I've never encountered...it's more golf ball structured like YoSammys G13xHzA. I am almost certain it's haze A leaning because of the incensce odor...and it definite has a skunk influence in flavor as well...not much NL expression in that plant IME.

Cheers,
Sensi

Yep it sure looks like a pure haze male plant and no haze hybrid i ever grew had the incense smell but ha.

So he has seen the haze A male to know what its look like right.

Give it up guys.

Just keep the thread of topic and do every one a favour and show neville some respect as its his thread.

They said haze A leaning,
they never said its pure haze A.

Now your trolling me jack 2 posts in a few minets tawards me could be seen as such mate.

How can they say its HzA expresive jack if they have not seen it and as HzA was a brother to HzC and the female or sister of them 2 Hz plants went 40 weeks if i remberd correct so yea not looking correct is it.

Hempy,
your memory is failing you and causing you to fight needlessly.

haze b ran alongside C5 commercially, so it was no where near a 40 week plant, i beleive nevil said 10-12 weeks

learn before you speak.

jack Hzb is not related to HzA and HzC jack.

Your comeing to a gun fight with a sling shot your honestly now sounding angry and becomeing rude why cant you keep a canna discustion cival is berhond me maybe your doing it to upset me and to take it of topic to avoid embaressing your mates more ?.

The sister to HzA And HzC ran 44 weeks by memory and Nev told Me it would Just not finish she was a monster and he regrets loosing her to this day.

So jack you just failed in your attack and now look rather silly how does that make you feel ?.

hempy, this is a big problem with you.
you read what you want and discard the rest, and the "rest" might be what is the truth.

as far as haze, i trust what nevil says over what shanti says.
nevil was there shanti was not.

just because it was mistakenly reported that el nino, la nina, was haze b x ww, does not mean that it was. shanti cleared it up that it is MM x WW,
so how does that quote support your theory that haze b was long flowering, when nevil said that B x C took the same time as 5 x C? 11 weeks
