Im looking foward to trying some of that columbian bh , and might aswell try some thai while we are at it i guess ..
one thing i would love to show via pics ,, is how fast the sativas mature outdoors where i live in comparision to indoor ,, 145 days is more likely the time from planting to harvest here ..
if i knew what it was that made them go so fast here outdoors , id be sending you a can of it tomorrow , hehehe ...

Yeah I feel like a good Colombian is the missing ingredient in many high end breeding projects. Just in terms of trying to replicate the Haze geneaology what do we need? Thai, Mexican, Colombian and Indian.

Shanti states that his MM contains Thai and Colombian, although I have heard and read one geneaology of Mullum Madness that is 50%Thai, 25%Colombian and 25%Indian(Bangla).

It may be that Nevils intuition that the MM x Oaxacan will produce what he's looking for - will coincidentally fulfill the criteria of being as close a representation as possible to the original 60s/70s Haze. However 50% Mex, 25% Thai, 12.5% Coli and 12.5% Indu - may not be the optimal combo. In which case you might backcross the MM...or something else entirely...maybe the MM to Oaxacan x WW - which would up the Indian content

Charlie Garcia's Destroyer, which was recently described by Dubi as the best strain to ever come out of Spain, is 50% Highland Thai, 25% Mexican and, 25% Colombian. I have heard that the Meao Thai that Charlie uses in Destroyer and is used in Dubi's equally vaunted Golden Tiger - was originally sourced in Australia - but that may be hyperbole, or it may be a secret and I have to come back and edit it out:confused:

The Thai strain described in this passage:
i also collected what i thought was the most amazing strain i had the pleasure to smoke,a pure thai, the one made popular, but gaurded tightly,by 20 thai for those who remember, unfortunatly it was gaurded a bit to "tightly"and vanished!
....may be the Highland Meao Thai that the Spanish guys have utilized so well. This is the suggestion i was given.

Anyway its interesting to note that Charlie Garcia is really putting a lot of time and effort into finding the perfect Colombian that he remembers from decades ago. A huge piece of the puzzle would be solved if that old school Colombian could be recovered.

Then we can turn our attention to recovering the best possible Indian genetics.

I think a great pheno of Mango Haze is pretty close to what a Oaxacan x MM would turn out like. Except if you could retain the best of the Oaxacan's character (beautiful taste with the warm, uplifting, salubrious high) with the best of the MM (soaring, trippy, spiritual high) - you'd find something even better...

Nev's Haze, NLHz, MM, Oaxacan, Mango Haze, Karibe Surprise, Acapulco Gold, Panama Red.....I'd definitely consider adding Destroyer and Golden Tiger to that list. And be great to see if Shanti still has that old Keralan lying around somewhere.

Anyway just thinking aloud:D

There's some Colombian Gold in that mix as well I hear...

I have my hands full with Colombians atm, I have two different pure females and two different pure males, have one each of the females finishing off now.

I also have half a dozen f1 hybrid females flowering out and I've saved a cutting of a very nice and Colombian dom f1 male as well./ Just harvested an indica dom Volunteer x Colombian, it yielded huge, big very chunky buds, smells a lot like the Colombian, just about to smoke the finger hash from her...

Wally, send me a PM mate and I'll hook ya up...

P.S. I have indoor Purple Thai and Colombian Gold that needs testing against the same stuff grown outdoors, I'll hold onto it till the outdoor is done then find a way of transporting it down under...

LoL whatever it is.. if Destroyer is better than Riena Madre, this shit must be fantastic. I've got lots of Ace gear I may have to pick up Charlie's. I take Dubi @ his word.

Black Nose Nev thinks it smells like Haze?

Thumbs up: Has a structure similar to british_hempire's Colombian, if I'm not mistaken.

Meao Thai

I think thats what is in the Green Haze/Thai. Its real good weed. I had a golden tiger somewhere. I have been smoking the Panama. It is very very good! It is better than I expected. The Vietblackthai is so-so, so far. Still curing. Double Thai is hanging. And the flavor and smell is Twangin! That was the last plant harvested from the breeding project.

I have 6 LA Confidentials clones, one OG Kush, and one large Headband shrub to go outdoors this month. I also kept about 8 of the Haze plants. Some Hazes were average at best, but a few were outstanding examples of awesome genetics.

Hope you guys have big grow rooms, because this girl is part of the Grail:D

Hmm, do I see a young apprentice being trained in the bush, quite literally? lol

That is a big bush, if the young un is 5 foot tall then that plant has to be clocking on for 18 feet...

What is that big bitch btw?

Colombian colas look lovely and well developed, indoors I find my Colombian girls develop fast for a sat so that after 8 weeks you're thinking, hmmm, gonna be done in 10-11, but they keep on going packing on the budmass until at least 14 weeks, 16 if you want a really daydreamy more potent and less clear effect.

My camera is playing up but I will get some pics of my Colombians and Colombian hybrids up soon, no 18 footers though, more like 2 feet!

Gotta ask, why 'Black Nose' Nev? Is it cos he got a black nose from all the resin after sticking his sniffer into all the fat colas to assess their olfactory qualities? hehe

Sounds like you guys are having fun and much good work is being done, keep it up, please me muchly...

I took Nev on his first real walkabout yesterday and we forgot the camera, but Ill get some next week.
It was funny we had just got back and we were relaxing doing a bit of a taste test when the Missus asked Nev how come his nose was so black and Nev tried to wipe it off.....well it didnt come off did it because it was hash from stickiing his nose in everything he came across...Lol

You got a respect a breeder who gets that into it:D

Very much so! Now, the real test is:

did he peel it off his conk and smoke it? lol

I have a dream of one day growing a field of hashplants then having a gaggle of topless beauties go through the field rubbing their ample assets against all the colas to make a special batch of 'tittie charas' pmsl...

P.S. Sorry I mistook kanga for a young un, makes that plant a 20 footer or more...

Did you take any plant shots of the Colombians? Just wondering how big they get compared to the acclimated local strains you also have going...

Hi all

.

It's no secret my interestoin colombians ive spoke with CG about his experiences ,Im intrigued to know more about this search/project you speak of any specific lumbo type ?

On topic of indian gentics ,Im curious as to more detail on the keralan genetics that shanti had/has .Excuse me if i dont recal detail ,but menthol comes to mind .Im curious as to the traits of taste/aromas ,As i understand many indi are spicy. Its said keralan are some of the better indian genetics an its intriguing to know that Shanti an SAMS both worked these gentics .It be interesting to hear/recall some detail from shanti for comparison of what indian traits are present in the ohaze offerings. Its more common we here about the thai/lumbo expression, this is somthin i always pondered on.

BH

The PT x Cg sounds killa should be somthin special, id love to hear more about that one after testing .

Kanga

That is music to my ears to hear the comparison of Lumbo to haze .

Any detail on that lumbo stock ?sorry if i asked already

Hows those kariba surprise doin ? any more testing ?

Speaking of Colombians

:D Ive been roasting both Columbian and Kona Coffee beans this morning,(while smoking haze with Headband/Sour Diesel Kief hash on top) Both are special cultivars.

The Kona is "Maragogype" cultivar. From a 2 acre plot on the Kona coast. Absolutely exotic coffee! It cups a lovely brew, with a up euphoric high, no jitters. Excellent accompnyment to great bud.

Im pulling yellow leaves off the indoor crop today. I have a half dozen clones of this plant going outdoors soon. This is LA Confidential. I grew it from seed in 2009 I think. Very strong, rock hard nugs, excellent high. I pollenated and got seeds from both Nevilles Haze and Mango Haze with this same plant.
