I can read them loud and clear Kash, thanks for sharing
N.E. Thailand is credible, can you get more details? My other recent strain, the Thai, I brought over from Nong Khai province in northeast Thailand, which is traditionally where the best Thai pot comes from.
Hi everybody. An intr. read. Well I just wanted to point out a potential candidate for the grail. A breeder that is as open about his genetics as Neville and Shantibaba. A breeder that has collected, documented and worked with landraces from Cambodia, Nepal and Thailand. I would suggest his thai lady.

Nevil here is one I forgot about.....this haze that I brought back with me from Norcal that had been growing in that area for yrs. Alot of these guy's are friends with the Santa Cruz guys. Maybe this could be decended from the original.
Kangativa,
Tell me what area of Mendo/Humboldt/Trinity/Oregon and I can see what's around. Does this Haze go by any other names?
Snow
Near Mendicino, coastal....No mate it never had a name then either, it was just what a lot of people were growing then. I have it here and it is still basically the same strain. I have kept all the Cali strains that I brought back the same. The only thing I did was cross that Haze with a Cali Skunk to produce my Mendo girl, which I did up there.
Hi All
well been busy with alot of catching up work and pollinations so found a moment after reading this rather long thread to pop my nose in and say hi.
Nev, just happy to see you got into the online world interactively and all seem to love that...no matter whether the Holy Grail is found or takes 10 yr to make...but we will make it like we did the rest.
I have been toying with a few of the original Skunk Haze plants for some time and think that finding a father in a new set of beans would be possible .Considering I think this line is a hard to improve on line, there must be a great male waiting to combine in it.
Secondly I have spoken to Rob Clarke a few times about places we consider to be the last of the undiscovered land races of sativas and we both agreed it to be in the area above Calcutta to Burma...Nagaland, Arunashal Pradesh area. I have permits with several friends to visit in October and we will be in the hunt to speak with the tribes people and going on Rob`s visit and analysis it seems a few tribes in particular...but I will not mention them so as not to expose exact locations. So this is something that holds potential.
Lastly I received lately a few special seeds from a man who just passed away on the island of Reunion . He had been growing a strain known as many names but this was the source of the original ZAMAL sativa grown at an altitude of 1350m for as long as 40 years...and this is ready for preliminary work so I will keep you all informed of the outcome.
All in all it is a great idea to pool resources from the best of the best directly from growers who show the same passion...exactly where the internet will set us free.
So keep up the great work all, and may I add to Nev, if you puffed on the Mango Haze...and wrote so happily you must admit it was equally as impressive in certain ways as the SSH, no?
Be safe and stay well Shantibaba
So you want to be a breeder. Easy enough, start with what you like the most and try and make it more suited to your taste. When I started out there was nothing to choose from, I had to pull it all to me. These days you have a smorgasbord to choose from.
Don't get too hung up on names, stoned people make them up all the time, the less creative steal them. If you buy seeds from a breeder, pick one with a track record. If you like certain landraces, go there. One plant can change the world. You might find it. Look for grower/breeders of the types you like. Find me the Grail Mother and I'll make you famous. Go forth young man!

This tells me that there was likely no pure haze among them (...)
(...) the inbreeding coefficient to the haze ancestor in NH is at most 37,5%.
Albion? Man, you have to grow sativas there too much moisture. I have an uncle who lives out that way, I'll have him ask around.
Hi Nevil,
May I ask you what you consider the Haze ancestor to be ?
Is it the thaï or its colombian counterpart ?
From what you posted I am inclined to think that you consider it is the thaï.
I always thought the key qualities of the Haze came from the union of the thaï x colombian.
Why let half of the genetics out of the equation ?
Thanks.
Peace.
K.
No one really knows Kashrocs, but my best bet is that the haze effect comes from a Buddha Thai. It's similar to the Thai I remember from the '70s.
