...And I got O's in the rental :p
Back in the stu again, no problemo was a whole lot simpler
When you think back, you thought that you would never make it this far,
then you - take advantage of the luck you handed
Of the talent you been given
Ain't no - half steppin - ain't no - no slippin
Ain't no different from a block that's hittin
Gotta get it while the getting's good, gotta strike while the iron's hot
foe you stop
Then you gotta bid it, good riddance
Goodbye.

Summer's coming. The CPS wheels are turning. The genetics are... well... :)

I'm loving this rainy weather for saturating the ground, and raising aquifer's and all, but my deck plants (mad veggies included!) are missin that 'last-week' sun. Plus I'm not about stomping through wet brush to prep spots, just to walk home in wet shooz...

Ok, no water (cept a few ounces for the gallons/wite squares), but I hit em with 2ml/l PBP bloom, and 1/8tsp silicate (full recco'd strength on the bottle) in a foliar. I ran a tomato stake through a bunch of the pots, hoping to losten the soil a lil, but I really just need to stop adding moisture to the roots. MAYBE tea this weekend? My tea will be ~2 weeks old by then. It still smells like sweet, lightly fermented molasses. Nothing stank yet.

2 Devil #2's, and a SSH #6. In a lil less than a week, and yes, I pulled off the yellow leaves :^P That's a bukkit of SSH f2 in the background.

Here's the G/Sk f2's and the Spice x PB/G13's. I'm sort of rooting against these, and hoping the testers come within ~2 weeks ;^)

Everything's lookin good, Patrick:)...those F2s look promising too...but I want to know more about this two week tea you got brewin...please...jay:D

Buttaman - Thanks fer the love, the tea is the following recipe, but I used ~1/2 cup each of: Dehydrated Manure, Composted Manure, Hummus, and my own screened compost. I made it on ~4/24, and have since taken 2 gallons of tea out, and blasted ~1.5 gal of water back in. I added a total of ~20ml of molasses, and ~30ml of LK from the bottles. Every day, I whip in air ~5-10 times, and it's been stored between ~45(low) and ~75 (high). If it still smells ok on ~Thurs/Fri (and I'm gonna use it over the weekend), I may add another lil shot of molasses and kelp/LK.

Blast ~1-2 cups of screened compost (yard/kitchen compost lots of coffee/tea/bananas/eggshells, rock phosphate and greensand added to the heap, and has ~60 gallons of once used soil/coco mix. Started ~1yr ago, stopped adding anything but kitchen stuff ~2mo ago.)thru a sock, and squeeze and dunk your way to cold, muddy, incredibly delicious smelling compost water. I brought it in, and added 1 teaspoon maxicrop in the 5gallons, and I'll add some molasses once it gets a lil warmer.

"Hey Paddy, how was your day?"...

:D

The irony of having quoted that post with the bukkit in it yesterday is UNREAL. There are no coincidences.

Ok, so my buddy whom I haven't seen in months stops by my house like he does (no call, no warning, lol) this morning. He is all tanned and farmered up and shit (dirty nails, rough hands, silly smile), and he starts telling me about 'feeding the soil'. Muthafukka you know who you talkin to??? :p When I last saw dood, he was running a pro-mix room with all the AN goodies. Now he is an organic 'plant seller', that is ALL ABOUT microbes. I helped transplant ~200 tomato plants and ~100 pepper plants from trays to 4" pots today with him.

Well, he has fully embraced feeding the soil, and in his travels has sourced the KILLER castings for $.25/lb, Guano right from the mexican caves dirt cheap, composted chicken manure (yeah, chickenshit with NO SMELL), steer manure, soft phosphate, etc... He has also hooked up with a company that is selling a 3-3-0 fish hydroslate bottle, and a 'Liquid Karma' type 'bio inocculant'. Well the products are the real deal, and he is getting them CHEAP. He has some stock of the 'stuff', but he is not a salesman, so he hasn't been making any money from it. He is making bank from selling tomatoes in 4" pots and gallons at flea markets. He hit me with ~4lbs of free 5-2-2 guano, and one of each of the bottles (don't want to name/picture the bottles for safety). When I showed him that I only wanted a teaspoon of each bottle in my compost tea bukkit, he was shocked.

After I explained how the teas grow the microbes, and cut the need for the NPK by 80%+, we BOTH saw the light, and decided to build and sell some bukkits. Cost is ~$15 to build the bukkit off the shelf at wally world (he drove, and that's where we ended up, lol. First time in a Wally World in MANY moons), and nicely packaged tea kits go for $100 and up. I plan on asking 60, and taking 45 for the kits.

Each kit will come with:
Bukkit, Pump, Airstone, tubing, lid, pantyhose completely assembled.
Enough bio-goodies (compost, manure, humus) to make ~5 batches of tea (~10 cups of bio-goodies)
~2oz each of the Fish hydroslate, and the 'Plant probiotic' (castings based, with humic acid, yucca, kelp, and amino acids).

I'm also looking to add on bottles of each @ $15/bottle, and bags of castings, compost, guano, soft phosphate, composted chicken dookie, cow manure, etc... priced accordingly (WAAAAYYYY cheaper than you could get at a garden center). MOST of the stuff will go for ~$1/lb.

Hey, I'm a salesman. Make a friend make a sale. Believe in the product, make gross. If I can get 3 people to listen to me about the compost tea kit, I will sell at least one, right there. Wanna see the Sham-Wow guy push microbe tea? Come to the flea market!

And, Oh, by the way...

I got a cut of the iffy back. Cuts of the iffy are selling from $200-$500 per. I wish I had THAT connect, but they REALLY are selling for that. 1 rooted SSH #1 cut. No bullshit. Mine was free (forget that I gave out 100's of cuts for free last summer...) :D

200 to 500 for a cut? jesus. i thuoght 75 was expensive for a orange crush clone i can get. i couldnt imagine paying that.

i could very well be interested in that kit there P. im lazy and dont like to look around for things and like you said it'd be cheaper than any garden center. hey. i have some plants that are about three weeks and has 5 sets of leaves. what and how much should i be feeding it? sorry to jack your thread all the time. i just like your input for some reason. i feel like i can trust you. hahaha

Bro, you aren't jacking any thread :p What you feed them depends on what you have access to. The easiest thing is a 'complete' nutrient (PBP, GenHydro, Fox Farms, etc...). You could make compost tea with a teaspoon of healthy dirt and a tablespoon of molasses in a bukkit with an airstone (or whipped by hand 5+ times daily). I don't think that I'll be feeding anything to the root zone but compost tea from here out :D I'll prolly still use the bottles as a foliar if I think there is a problem, but I REALLY like the idea of compost teas to charge up the soil. The best hydrostore product that I've ever used is/was plant success, and it is just mykes and kelp. If you can get to a Lowes, the 'Espoma Bio-tone Plus' is ~9 bux for a 4lb bag, and it's GREAT stuff, IMO. I'm trying now to source the bacteria and fungi in bulk. Dood is serious about starting a lil organic ag-supply company, and I pretty much swore my allegiance to him today :D.

Can you get to a lowes/homedepot? Miracle gro organic is good for veg if you can't find the Espoma. If I wasn't on front street with weed plants, I'd send you some of this for nothing. Straight from the bat's ass. I know that 'fossilized deposits' are 'better', but if you don't tell the plants, neither will I.
S7304966.JPG

If we go bigtime, I'll let everyone know where to get the ferts, lol. There is a guy who used to be over here, who formulated and was selling his own organics. It's just like anything else - You can source the raw materials CHEAP, and with out a middleman, sell a better fert for 1/2 the price, or sell 3x's the fert for the same price as 'fox farm' or 'sunleaves' or 'wiggle worm' (all hydrofarm distributed, BTW...)

yeah i saw that bag of espoma didnt know how good it was but since you suggested it its on my shopping list. where can i get guano other? would agway have it or would i have to order it? casue im no into doing all that. i had a compostpile started last year but i moved since then and it didnt get to come with me. there's a horse field near by with tons of dehydrated shit. could i use that alone with some topsoil to make some tea and add some of that emposa to it?

The bio-tone that I took the pix of ~4-5 pages back is complete. Mix it in the soil on transplant, and if you feel like you have to, add some as a topdress in a few months. The last time I made my fugazee tea (no airstone), I ised a sprinkle of that stuff. It's the smaller blue bag. If they just have the white espoma bags, get 'plant tone'. The bio-tone has myke fungi and beneficial bacteria added (organic steroids :D) Unless you can controll the decomposition process, manure is best used mixed in the soil.

If you are growing outdoors, animals will love to dig in the espoma. I read ANOTHER guy talking about the plants with the espoma kept getting dug up, and he went back to chems outside. For my outdoor, I'm just adding some of my own compost, and a lil rock phosphate and greensand to naturally decent soil. I'll prolly bottle feed 1 time in July (age-old grow), and 1 time in Aug/Sept.(age-old bloom).

You will PROLLY have to order guano, but you might find a garden center with some guy's Bio-Bangin Bat Guano and tea maker... Check back next year ;)

yeah im all outdoors, thats what i was worried about. the soil around here isnt that great. hard clay based. i def dont wanna use chems and i dont have my own compost. i know i can buy some from agway. should i get like promix, add compost and lime and did out like a two foot deep fot and a half wide hole per plant?

It's tough to say what you should do, I've never seen your dirt. :D If you want to start from scratch, peat, lime, vermiculite, and castings and/or compost. You have to address soil texture, water retention, THEN nutrient content. Castings/compost helps everything, peat helps the texture/retention. I dunno what to tell you as far as burying organics. I would hate to recco a product, then your plants get dug up because of it. Lol. PLANT SUCCESS. Order it :D

Soooooo.....

I just found a source of VERY concentrated mycorrhizae for ~30/lb. I could have SWORE that I saw a place selling lb's or 1/2lb's last yr for ~$8.95, select your strain. Anyway, I just mixed some KILLER organics together to bag up and sell at the fleamarket.

1 coffee can each of:
Humus
Dehydrated Manure
Composted Manure
2 coffee cans of screened leaf compost
1 cup of N guano
~1/2 cup of Maxicrop soluable
Dusting of Bio-Tone
Treated the whole thing with 1 gallon tea concentrate ;)

I also mixed up a bukkit w/o the cow manure, but extra leaf compost (Not yes or no, A or B...) if someone would prefer a 'gentler mix'. :D Prolly gonna sell sandwich baggies for ~3 bux. Stop having the boring tuna, stop having the boring life.

hello P,

Just enough and no more?.

Cant wiat till I see what you do with you test grow?.;)

Man, what a weekend. I was at a flea market yesterday, and sold exactly ZERO compost tea brewers. I will sell one to my neighbor, but that is not a real sale. They would buy anything from me. I did sell a few baggs of probiotic cultures (manure, guano, hummus, biotone, maxicrop, leaf compost), but prolly just enough to cover the cost of the ingredients/bags. I am dead serious about starting an organic fertilizer/biogoodies company. I managed to source some bulk bacteria @ ~$1/lb, and some bulk Mykes for ~$2/lb. Hopefully I will be spraying lawns/landscapes and have product on consignment in garden stores/nurseries within a few months. The biggest costs are shipping, labels/brochures/signs and bags.

Anywhoo. Plants on the deck look great. Plants above and down below got sprayed with the bottle that I'm selling (tetracycle meets liquid karma meets plant success), and they loved it. They are still trying to dry out fully, but poking a bamboo support in and out of the pots/bags has helped. I can't make up for lost time (wet roots), but they look like they are back in action.

Day 10, so anything that looks like it is finishing comes down in ~10 days.
