BULLSHIT! He's publicly said cannabis is 50-50.

We just talked to Ed Rosenthal on the phone last week. He's helping us with the DOR's health implications of producing medical cannabis. He'll sit down with us when he's in town in December. He gets 50-50 but I'll be sure to ask him if he EVER got 70-30. And what his theories on the matter are...

I'll put 10k on a standard X-Y system.

Why don't you brag about your tall sativas some more. You're so great, I'm sure no one grew tall sativas before you were around. It must be a lot of work to get tall sativas in a tropical environment. :p

Female seeds.... 1st time growers LOVE them.... more experienced growers tend to avoid them...
There's always going to be a constant back to back of THOUSANDS of 1st time growers, buying fems, sewing them, trying their luck & quitting.... Fems are a perfect choice for these people, PLUS It only takes 1 good plant from 10 fems, to be your keeper for a cpl grows.
The Female seed company's are targeting these growers, with the promise of offering only Sensimelia, convenience.
Most people would prefer a clone to work with... but Fem seeds ARE the planB for the 1st time grower, especially with all the exciting strains to choose from.

Now I know that... nomatter what you do to cannabis, it will never grow a bud with teeth & bite you in half.... so i'm not so sure why others are sooooo scared of the techniques being used on cannabis... Humans Bastardise everything... I bet our meat & veg have a worse history than any cannabis plants ever will.

Loves those pics Hempy... that plant makes me wanna come............. to yours for a smoke :O)

Why don't you ask him why he gets 50-50 and maybe he'll explain the X Y system in a way that you'll actually understand.

He does like to babble, we found it hard to keep him on track.

And I don't work FOR Ed. We reached out to him and he was very interested in the regulations our state is going to put on growers as far as health implications are concerned.

GreenintheThumb how old are you man you come across as some one young why well because you seam to think your right in every thing.

I never grew 100s at a time i grew for personal but have never seen 50/50 sex ratios i know a few that use to grow large in there younger days and spoken to a few old gorilla growers also and these growers never used clones they used seed and they would tell you the same.

Go speech to some old gorilla growers ask them about there plant grows and there female to male % then try and tell them that they saw 50/50 and make it a point to tell them there wrong to they would value a good larf im betting they would walk away thinking i like this kid but he has much to lorn yes he dose obi one lol.

Now before any of you get too excited, what I'd like to propose is a survey on sex ratios for MN strains (we could also include a catagory,"other strains"). You know, one of those boxes where you tick the strain, number of plants and ratio male to female ie, 50-55% female etcetera.
There must be some computer genius amongst us (Redeye?) for whom this would be easy to put together.
I don't know how hard this would be to do, but it might give us data that is statistically relevant.

ha bushy we could start a heeling camp for angry and uniformed stoner's as they arrive give them some good sativas then you can re Aline there chukra then they that next day as they come to they could go in and lisen to Neville and Shanti talk then they could re enter the world a more balanced and well adjusted stoner.

Kangativa grows at 30 degrees from the equator, which is further from the equator than most of Florida. Not tropical.

Bragging that you confer with Ed Rosenthal on some of your grows (bully for you!) is a bit like boasting you get spiritual advice from Oprah Winfrey:D

I did tht today hempy actually , sat in the jungle with an old guerilla grower , he grew back in the 70 s ..
He said they always got a 50 50 ratio , until the intersexed traits snuck in during the 80s , then they had to watch anything that got a better than 50% female ratio ,, it usually meant there were intersexed plants also ..

One thing we need to realise and not make the mistake of ,, we are all sitting behind a screen , we have no idea who we are speaking too normally , their age ,, sex , etc etc , we shouldnt assume anything .

Well that is good advice mate and maybe others need to put that into practice as it seams few do that towards me in this post or in many others and they feel its okay to attack my spelling and any small thing they can to win an argument be it in there mind alone but i speak more than just one language i am highly intelligent and in all honesty i dont care what any person thinks of me the way i see it as long as i am being up front and honest i will sleep well at night and that is what matters to me.

I haver been growing since the 70s to mate as has kanga and many others i have only ever posted my experiences and yet i am first to admit i dont know it all i think its time others did the same to as they dont know know it all ether.

What do people base there arguments on mostly mate ? I will tell you they base there arguments mostly on unproven thearys and that is not good inuf from were i sit they could just say they believe its this or that because of this or that the reality is we dont know the plant as well as some pretend and led people to believe.

Apart from cannabis learning on the net , ive learnt to conduct myself properly in forums ,, well id hope so anyhow s..
theres a few basic rules we all should adhere too ,, like the ones i posted previously , but also ,, if you want respect , give it ,, if you want friends , be a friend ,,
dont take thiungs too much to heart and most of all , be humble ,, humility goes miles on the forums we visit ,

who do we respect the most ???,, the humble guy that doesnt try to make big of himself , well im pretty sure thats who i repect the most ...

myself and other respectful posters in this thread have been posting practised and proven theories , ive seen some posted up , but admit they are not always easy to read ..
im not that young in my mid 40s , i guess not old enough to think i know everything yet , ,hehehe ...

thats interesting Donald, it fits nicely with my own findings on a "backward males" or intersexed males.. I found a higher rate of fems/intersexed plants with the progeny a def upswing in the ratios...

I'm having trouble buying into the idea of intersex males. I've always gone by the philosophy that if it's got pistels, it's a female. There are plenty of intersex females, but I haven't seen evidence of intersex males. I've seen anomalous percentages of females from time to time, and there is plenty of anecdotal evidence for that, but the reverse isn't true.
I believe that a greater incidence of intersex females, is natures response to sinsemilla culture. I can't imagine what pressures might cause intersex males.

If such a creature does exist, it's rare.
