EARLY QUEEN: hangin with the queens

Smells and Trichromes

I will say this, a couple weeks ago i picked my favorites, the first to show trichromes and evedent, profuse odors, 1 boy and 1 girl showed this very early on. Furthermore the leaves and structures of the two are like twins. Seems like a good match...

I smoke also, but there is a 'sharpness' to their odor in general, not quite garlic but similar. 'Peppery' skunk maybe...???? Its getting more complex with time also...

Its stinkin' up my house pretty good!!!

JJ so far i can say its a mix of EP and SS. Or at least they are shining through so far. Looking at your and barlettas bud pics seems to confirm that.

Personally id like to see into EP a tad bit more, where and when did Pollyanna become a part of this deal??? From what i have read(no im not a quoter) pollyanna came from Crazy Carol from Wisconsin... an african influence????...

Nevil is the only hope for clarification here. I hope you reply...

Inquiring minds want to know...

What is Pollyanna?

Also the 'Afghan' seems to be a 'Generic' term and adds mystery to the 'Super Skunk'.

Hopefully they get that 'Strain Database' up. It will allow us to do our own homework.

Comrade J, what beautiful pics. I only hope my results are half as good at that stage.

And Comrade Fun, things are moving well there and I look forward to watching what happens next. Keep up the good work.

It's hotter than Hell here today with most plants in the garden in severe wilt but the girls are thriving and appear totally unaffected. It never ceases to amaze me how they cope with the heat so well.

BUG WATCH- delayed broadcast

Hey all.. hey minarvi.
okay, for those of u just tuning in, some dozen posts back, i was askin minarvi about pest control in the outdoors, me being an HID refugee n all.. he then suggested i take some pictures (cheeky bugger, giving me homework no less!) and we could identify the hateful critters what been gettin high on my supply..

-so first up, these are not eQs.. they are black domina('09stock). i been protecting my eQ's with pyrethrins..
-never thought i'd see the day i'd b wishin the kids were more flea bitten!

*1st pic-

jondojoando-albums-jondojoando-picture4014-img-0109-1.jpg

*2nd pic- here we see the pin dots that make every grower see red! bloody two spotted hate.

jondojoando-albums-jondojoando-picture4011-img-0074-1.jpg

*3rd pic- this one i'm really interested in. i'v seen it before from outdoors. a small purple spot. looks like ink..
jondojoando-albums-jondojoando-picture4013-img-0110-1.jpg

so that's it for now.. hop on in and post up them wanted signs!

p.s. -yeah minarvi, it's different in the indoor setting.. it's an isolated evironment... pest are kept out, n nE that do make it in r knocked out, unable to call in reinforcements... napalm works... now, how's that napalm-proof cannabis strain comin along, ed?? .. .. jj

damn zigger, ur post was in befor i was done posting!! haha.. i post a bit at a time as i'm constantly gettin kicked off by my proxy..

Looks like leaf miners to me.

Google 'leaf miner control' and there's a stack of advice. I'd remove effected leaves and isolate the plant from its sisters.

I'm amazed at the amount of pests and diseases I read about on dope forums as I rarely have any problems at all, touch wood. I do find the occasional caterpillar munching on a head when I'm doing a trim but very rarely.

It's thrips, I'm positive on this one, had 'em a couple of times, use a thin layer ( 1/8 inch ) food grade Diatomaceous Earth in a circle around the stem of plant on the soil, the larvae hatch in the soil and crawl up the stem so the microscopically jagged diatomaceous earch kills 'em dead before they get up the plant and eat your leaves. Should go away within a week. If your infection is really bad then consider purchasing predatory nematodes off the internet, those buggers love thrips :) , hope that helps buddy

Hm, I disagree and still think it is leaf miners but I could be wrong, I often am.

I found an interesting page which Comrade J might like to check out. Both leaf miners and thrips are covered and the pics of leaf miners look just like the pics posted above.

Meanwhile, my Early Queens are booming in the middle of a heatwave that the whole country seems to be suffering from.

EQ07.jpg

Flowering has started but only just.

EQ07a.jpg

Followers of this thread will recall that I am also growing some White Widows that are well into their flowering stage and I have to admit I'm still wondering whether the labelling was reversed, a major stuff up if this is the case. Both varieties look very similar to me apart from the White Widow labelled plants being shorter than what I've labelled Early Queens which is another reason I'm wondering whether I've made an error so here are the 'White Widows'.

Comments?

Minarvi,

what Lat are you? (did i ask this already?) your obviously southern hemi. so I'm trying to work out what i could expect for OD flower times here(northern hemi). the more precise you can be the better. or if your not sure, do you know what your exact day length is? sunrise and sunset times.

Latt.

minarvi, great shots man. Wish i wasnt amist a blizzard... im sticking with my original guess that you had them labeled correctly and are second guessing yourself because of the difference in flowering times. They look SO healthy, great job!!! I am looking forward to the coming weeks and months for your updates comrade:D

North, im at 43 and EQ will be end of September, maybe mid september. Long before the typical frosts and task forces. You'll be dry by then :D and long gone  EQ is in my opinion the fastest outdoors in MNS collection, its doubled up on EG:eek: Not aware of too much 'Earlier' than her, with potentcy...

Peace:D

I'm @45-46N. and am a bit skeptical about times:o, but who knows. I'll find out this fall.:D

This first one ended up hermie so it got culled.

Couldnt say for sure. They are in a tent but i took extra steps to make sure there wasnt any light leaks. It was only 1 plant out of a entire pack, the slowest flowering male developed a few female parts in the last few days. It happens sometimes. I will say they are very uniform and hardy plants in general so i dont think its an issue of 'genetic instability' per say.

baked beans walking

hey.. y'all r'nt mad i hope? cheers, fun. hey minarvi, rub the stem and describe the smell.. don't know widow-, do know queen..
the reason i was askin about light pollution, is they looked kinda hesitant by indoor standards.. certainly look like the queen.. superskunk like-, the widest part of the leafblade is right where mine r..
- i'm with u on the EP comment, fun.. selecting more sativa, less affie is where i am approaching from for the pheno hunt.

- 3rd girl went in 1st of the month. her leaf is looking more skunk than Sskunk so far.. in fact she almost looks familiar to me!!...
**a mate of mine was round the other day and we were staring at my #4 for ages, semmingly unable to reconcile how much she doesn't look like any cannabis plant we'd ever seen! remember them 'International Oddities' ads high times run?, it looks like something from that crossed with a cactus!?..

- the resin glands are also worth noting. at first glance, it looks lacking... but thats because the heads sit atop extremely short stalks.. usually they fool u the other way, being completely resin encreusted, but it's 1 part head to 9 parts stalk.... so watch for that one.

- finally, sorry guys... we all get tired i guess..

i'll see what i can do pic wise. been studyin hard on that front..

no fight with my proxy!!!.. now that's a nice wlcome back!

***here is the result of the last 2 hours of twirling, tryin to enter the pic comp, don't think i made it-- so hope y'all enjoy. sometimes life bombards and probes from all sides... in the end, kinda feels like the pic within me...
thank you to H.R.G for the inspiration.. oh and happy birthday!

Hell yeah i'm punk rock. and i'm even more metal,,

jondojoando-albums-jondojoando-picture4187-2011-02-12-h-r-fuk-hell-jj.jpg

-- so wotta rekon? 40 more desk lamps and i'd say we got ourselves an AC/DC video!?! ,...,
edit** get real high then look at the pic... u wont know which angles b comin or going!! haha!!

for u folks playing at home, there's a famous number in there, and even a Griffin! hint: not refering to Giger's art. lol. like anyone cares++
*cool.. right back to work, then.. please note that i don't currently own a macro lens- this is a crop/trim. the other thing to note is that many of the glandular heads appear to b slightly flattened, making them even trickier... view from a slightly differing angle, and they minimise, leaving u scrolling for ur taskbar. all this is usually negated by the aforementioned predominant trichcome structure- stalks, stalks, stalks===white, crystal, encrusted bag ads.

jondojoando-albums-eq-picture4197-2011-02-02-eq4day59sdplt.jpg

*this pic is fairly color correct.the stigmas don't go brown on the live plant.. leaving my mate to describe it as having the hues of an albino african.

**that's a mad way of collecting pollen !,, never seen it done like that.. . yeah, my boys are just chillin.. they know more girls gonna b rockin up.. sly boots!!..

**hey bob b1tch1n, hows them eQ cuts comin along? forty eQs of a known proven pheno. now thats a force to b reckoned with..
*yeah, the live plant does put out that cat piss. guess thats the heaviest part of the smell profile.. the couple buds i've pulled off early and left sitting to dry lose it, leaving a nice sweetness, kinda a transparent starchy body with a fresh zingy twist at the high end,, ginger maybe?
cheers everyone. those that post, those that read.. my heartfelt greetings to each n every...... ... ..jj

belladonna?

very nice! whats up with them belladonnas? throw up some pics mang :)
have u different phenos? how about aromas? peace

Originally a Gopher, evolved into a Badger. Any and all info pertaining to EQ is welcome here north. Hope you do join in on the communal grow, would be great to add yet another perspective!:D

nice :) i started as a badger, went gopher...then said "fuckit! i'm a sativa man!" and went Longhorn...this is the first winter in a stretch i didn't do an outdoor seed run :p ....yup, rubbing it in lol. good luck on those EQs...i had good success with sensi's NL in your neck 'o the woods outdoors in the late 80's early 90's... hoping MNS will release some straight NL5 or maybe a NL#2xNL#5 or some other skull crushing low odor NL. ;)

but back to the EQ. ya'll have a great attitude and am liking the thread already.
