Early Queen Austrian Airlines Outdoor Projekt the second of sixteen

Thanks, @Swifty ! The soil was enriched with organic pellets, and I’ve been adding molasses every now and then. Two weeks ago, I used BioTabs PK 5-8, and yesterday I gave them Alga Bloom. That tip about using straight Alga Bloom is really great, though—I’ll do that next time. At this time of year, I often make the trip just to fertilize—even though I technically don't have to—so I can apply the Alga Bloom or bat guano directly! Then I let the rain take care of the rest. 🫣 Thanks, good tip!
Sometimes I’m not the brightest bulb in the box. 🤣✌️

Yo brother, I think it’s really cool how everyone here supports each other. One Love ❤️ 😍 💚

Swifty with his cool tip for feeding outdoor plants, and, uh, Schlawiener — that’s not true, man. You’re a really bright light here, brother. 😄

One Love.

Blessings Penny 🌞

Alles was man liebt macht man ja gut.In meinen 25 Jahren bei der Sache.Lernte ich das meiste von anderen. Buch hin oder her! ✌️

I've done the same as you are doing and I know that it is not easy.
This time of year It is better to keep your spots private, so every visit not needed is better.;)
I still do this with my perennial plants in big pots in my garden, works great to rejuvenate them after the winter.

It’s not easy these days, given the dense population. In terms of sunlight—provided the season is right—the spot is actually really good. All things considered, I’ve actually always had a better yield there than anywhere else. But I rarely weigh the harvest anymore; it’s not that important to me now. It’s just about having enough of a supply. I recently had to sift a harvest from over two years ago—one that was full of micro-seeds—just to get some smokable hash. Luckily, I’d kept it. Out of 18 plants, I was only able to salvage enough for smokable weed—using an H₂O₂ bath and a water rinse! The ones near the fan were still okay. It’s something that shouldn't happen—or rather, I shouldn't let it happen. Normally, I stick to the rule of stripping down to my underwear; I wash and disinfect my hands. But in the summer, I just couldn't be bothered. If you can't follow those simple rules... well, carelessness gets punished. You deserve it! I can't afford—and shouldn't allow—that kind of negligence. Because I didn't look closely enough, my precious Querkel plants now have thrips. The other two tents almost certainly do, too. But after three days of making hash, rearranging grow tents, and so on, I just didn't have the energy for it today—even though wiping the eggs off the leaves is actually really important. My wife just isn't playing along anymore. I told her that for the next cycle, I can go back to a normal schedule. Plus, this isn't exactly conducive to bedroom activities—like lying in bed on my phone right now. Just to watch some outdoor porn. She thinks the extent of it is a bit abnormal now. Today, the missus was acting as a lookout at the outdoor spot. As luck would have it, right where I was climbing out of the hedge, there was a gathering of fishermen parked in the bend, meeting up before heading over to the pond after a good hour. I was lying in the mud, soaking up the sun. Ended up having to walk a few kilometers on foot afterwards. 🤣✌️

So, back to the best time of year! Even though I had pictured the grow a bit differently at the start of the season, I’m really happy just to be smelling those familiar old strains outdoors again this year. Once again, it totally amazes me how long the brain holds onto memories when there’s an association attached to them! The Early Girl was from Sensi Seeds—back in 2003. There was also a Durban that got stolen, and a Passion #1 planted on a slope by a country road bridge early in the season. I only watered it at the start and harvested it in late September; the Early Girl was harvested too early because a truck driver kept taking a dump right next to it—I hadn't considered that they’d be doing their business there.
Anyway, today I tried my best to remove the dead foliage hanging between the buds. The Early Queen is looking the healthiest of the lot, though the Passion #1 and Early Girl are a bit further along in their development. I’ve only grown Early Girl once, whereas I’ve had a Passion in the mix almost every year because it’s reliably fast, robust, and high-yielding. For me, the hash from it feels stronger and better than the hash from Serious 6 or 7, for instance. The Durban always starts late and didn't always finish maturing. Next year, I’m going to try Early Queen and Early Skunk at that spot. With Skunk, though, I’m worried I might end up with a really pungent-smelling plant. I took the photos while a bit stressed. Good weather is forecast through next weekend, so watering isn't really necessary anymore; I’ll try to stay away for a good long while! ✌️

Yeah, at my first spot. It was a huge parking lot for driving schools where truck drivers used to spend the night. I didn't even think about the fact that the drivers were doing their business in that grassy area with the hedges back then.Let's see how the next two weeks unfold. It has turned cold quickly at night this year—down to just 11 degrees. But during the day, it’s still a sunny 24 degrees. It will get a bit colder at night over the coming two weeks, though. But the Early Queen and the others should hold up for the next few weeks, I reckon—provided it stays dry. ✌️

When nature calls you go to the first bush you see!:poop::poop:

The Early Queen got another watering today!
The weather is still great during the day, though nighttime temperatures are dropping to as low as 8°C at times. That hasn't been a problem so far, since the sun comes out right away in the morning. However, starting next Thursday, daytime temperatures will stay low, and the forecast calls for days of cold, rainy weather.
The Early Queen definitely needs a good 14 more days. I can harvest the Passion#1 by then, though—so at least there’ll be something to harvest. The Passion and the Queen are easily spotted from the outside; everything is really sparse this season. That makes taking photos, removing leaves, or doing a close inspection difficult and risky. The hedges don't hide a 190cm guy like me anymore! Quick in and out ✌️

🤞 Shlawiener.

My experience with growing guerilla is to harvest what you can when stealth is compromised.
At the very least you can make some decent hash out of them.
I've been taken to many plant before from opportunists or farmers.
They look epic considering they were almost half dead.:)(y)
Good luck!🍀

Hey everyone! Nothing could stop me from checking out the spot on my bike ride back today—I wanted to take a closer look at the Early Queen and clear away some of her leaves. There was a lot of dead, yellow foliage. The buds that had been covered by leaves had already started to mold. Otherwise, she looks and smells really delicious—sweet and spicy. Interestingly, the smaller Early Queens at a different spot—growing in older soil—have a sharper scent than the big one. I do get a bit stressed at these spots, though.
Still, removing those leaves and some of the large branches in front of her was definitely the right call!
The Early Queen definitely needs another 10 to 14 days. The nights are getting cold, but the days are still bringing nice, dry weather. If it really starts raining heavily, the Passion and Durban Dew would actually be ready to harvest—just to get something safely dried and stored, especially given my indoor crop failures. A real lifesaver!

Thanks again 🫶 @Swifty and @PennyP ! I would have given up on them.

After my last inspection on October 7, the time had come—I harvested Passion#1. It was really ripe. But to my surprise, some of its main buds were already moldy on the inside, so a few nice, firm flowers ended up in the trash. D.Poison was also starting to get moldy in a few spots. So, just like @Swifty said, “Take what you can get.” D. Dew wasn’t mold-free either, but at least it was ripe. To be honest, the Early Queen seemed to me like it hadn’t really been worth the effort yet, since the days were warm and she developed the most resin with Passion#1. So I think the Queen would be the best quality. That’s why I’m still hoping for a few halfway-ripe buds from her. I can’t be dissatisfied. For the last three days, I’ve barely had anything left to smoke. I don’t smoke the fully matured stuff because it doesn’t do anything and doesn’t taste good. The dry parts I was able to try from the Passion were really good outdoor stuff. It could be better, but she really surprised me this time. Considering I’ve been smoking these highly bred strains for years, the sun just brings something different to the table. Done right, with enough sun and good ripening, it’s already something different from indoor grow.
It’s just not that easy to get it right. I’ll probably be able to get a little hash out of it, though.
Have a nice Sunday, everyone!
Of course, my wife washed the Buds in the bathtub.
For hash, the yield is just a little low. But the Early Queen is still standing. It’ll get me by until the next plant is harvested.

So that’s fine. Now it’s on to the “Worry Girls” SSH x AC. My wife is out of the house. Hopefully not at the neighbor’s—she’s had enough of me already 🤣✌️✌️

Looks like you still got a nice reward for your efforts Schlawiener.
Nice job!:)(y)
We are in a similar climate and I know that every year is a roll of the dice if you rely on nature.
Enjoy the ☀️grown buds, I know that they will be very nice and maybe the queen will still surprise you in the end.

Thanks, @Swifty !!
I’ve certainly had better seasons, but Passion#1 was a real lifesaver. I harvested the Early Queen on October 11th because of the cold nights and the fact that the buds were starting to mold. It had a scent reminiscent of "Cheese"—sweet, spicy, and cheesy. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite ripe enough.
Have a great weekend! Seeing your photos has really inspired me—I’m tempted to buy a grow tent for my 36m² apartment right now so I can properly grow some SSH x AC! ✌️

Here are photos showing the condition the Early Queen was in when I harvested it—on October 11th or 12th.
The aroma was wonderfully sweet, spicy, and cheesy—reminiscent of a "Cheese Skunk," at least in terms of that distinct cheesy note. It started off sweet and spicy, then transitioned into that sharp, pungent "Cheese Skunk" scent. If it had been able to fully mature, it would have been the best in terms of quality. The yield would have been excellent, too. I still have a small Early Queen cutting outside; the days are still sunny and warm, but it’s too cold at night. It would be great if I could harvest a fully ripened sample from it.

Today I checked on the little Early Queen plant I still have out. This small Queen plant appears to be completely free of mold—it even has a cheesy aroma. And this, despite the very cool nighttime temperatures and damp weather! A real surprise! ✌️
