For example, I'm not interested in filling in Sensi's pedigrees, especially for seeds I didn't make.

It is the case for J.Flash I believe.

Hope this helps.

Peace.

I've been through The Seedbank catalogues from 85 to 90 and made a list of all the strains therein, some of these we can probably eliminate as Nev didn't use them in his later work.

Mexican
Jamaican
Nigerian
Colombian Gold #1
Colombian Gold #2
Malawi
Thai

(All of the above were selected from the best imports, I don't think we need to include these as Nev didn't use them in his breeding work I think)

Kashroc
Oregon Indica
Mexican (Oaxacan) #2
Mexican (Oaxacan) #2/Afghan
Ruderalis
Purple Skunk
South Indian (Kerala)/Afghan
Nepalese
Afghani (Mazar i Sharif)
Krazy Karol
Skunk #1
Afghani #1
Skunk #1/Afghani #1

Skunk #2 (not a strain, just open pollinated sk1)
Afghani (New Mexico)/Thai
Afghani (New Mexico)/Nigerian
Afghani (New Mexico)/Jamaican
Northern Lights

(all the above are from the 1985 catalogue, I've highlighted the ones that I think played a role in later breeds)

Onto the 1986 catalogue, for simplicity's sake I have only listed strains that appear in this catalogue and weren't in the 85 catalogue.

Early Skunk (EPx(EPxSK1)
Early Pearl x Mazar i Sharif
California Orange
Indisat
South African D.P. 34
Early Pearl
Northern Lights x Skunk #1
Northern Lights x Afghani #1
Early Girl

1987, again I've only included strains that were added this year and missed out those that were in the two earlier catalogues (and I missed out Chi P Variablis, obviously!) I also missed Ed's PEHT as Ed Rosenthal bred those:

Pollypak
Northern Lights #1
Northern Lights #5 x Northern Lights #2
Northern Lights #5 x Skunk #1
Skunk #1/Afghani #1 x Northern Lights #1
Big Bud
Hash Plant
Ruderalis Indica
Ruderalis Sativa
Ruderalis Skunk
Ruderalis Indica/Sativa

Wow mate this is great stuff your doing here. I wish I could help you out but I know jack shit about genetics. I am sure your info will be helpful to many..

Onto 1988, again just listing the new ones:

G-13 x Northern Lights #2
Hash Plant x Northern Lights #1
G-13 x Hash Plant
Four and More
Haze x Northern Lights #1
Early Pearl Improved
Swazi
Hash Plant/Northern Lights #1 x Swazi
Big Skunk

I don't have the 1989 catalogue, does anyone have it and could scan it in? I'd like to be as thorough as possible and cover all years Nev was issued catalogues.

1990:

Northern Lights #5 x Haze
Silver Pearl
Silver Pearl x Haze
Hash Plant Pure
Super Skunk
Garlic Bud
Early Skunk

I don't think there was a 1991 catalogue as Nev got arrested in Australia, if I;m wrong on this and there is a 91 catalogue, does anyone have a copy?

Cheers mate, I think the best help most people can be is to peer review what I'm doing, spot mistakes and point them out, I'd appreciate that, accuracy is important in this project, actually, it's absolutely vital I think.

Where is the NL#9XSk#1 from 1986?

Thanks for the 89 catalogue cover, do you have the rest of it?

Well spotted, the picture of the 1986 catalogue is a bit hard to read and I thought it read NL#5 x Sk#1, now when I check, I see it actually says #9 not #5, I shall correct the list to reflect this.

I think the Cannabible 1 is online as a pdf, I'll have a quick search for it.

I've started populating a spreadsheet with the list of strains, I'm going to type up all the original catalogue descriptions this evening, good job I type fast!

I have been searching mine since the begining of the afternoon without success...

That is why I can't help you more on that.

Peace.

Thanks for those doobs, that's the old Baudelaire strainguide and very useful to have. It's not 100% gospel though, for example, it lists arjan as the breeder of white widow, white rhino, shark etc.

Some queries I have for Nev:

Mexican Sativa as sold by Sensi Seeds is one of your breeds, right? I'm guessing it is the Oaxacan #2 crossed to the Pollypak, is this correct? That is why I included Oaxacan #2 and Pollypak in the list, because I thought they went into that later hybrid.

I've covered The Seedbank years so far, I am guessing the next step is to cover the breeds done while working for Sensi Seeds. Below is a list of the Sensi Seeds strains listed in their 1996 catalogue as I figure this is just after Nev left, could Nev please tell me which ones are his work and should be included:

Shiva Shanti (this is a Garlic Bud hybrid, right?)
Jack Herer
Northern Lights (this was NL5x2?)
Black Domina (four way indica hybrid made by Nev, right?)
Silver Haze (we covered this recently, Silver Pearl x Haze C, correct?)
NL5 x Haze (NL5xHzC, I don't need to ask, a legend! lol)
Big Bud
Hawaiian Indica
Four-Way
Afghani#1
Hindu Kush (is this a strain Sam introduced?)
African Queen (is this a South African D.P.34 x Indica?)
Super Skunk
Skunk #1
Skunk Kush (Hindu Kush x Skunk #1)
Shiva Skunk (NL5xSK1)
Sensi Skunk
California Indica (Cali Orange x indica?)
Juicy Fruit (Thai x ?)
Silver Pearl
Early Pearl
Durban (same as the South African D.P.34?)
Ruderalis Skunk
Early Girl
Early Skunk
Shiva Shanti II
Ruderalis Indica
Mexican Sativa (Oaxacan x Pollypak?)

Looking at that list, looks like they are all Nevil's genes and breeds to me, just a few names have been changed. I suppose the stuff that came after like Marley's Collie, Jack Flash, Mother's Finest and American Dream weren't Nevil's work?

GHS seeds launched in 1995 with Shanti's breeds, so I need to track down old GHS catalogues now, anyone got any old GHS stuff? We need to cover 95-2000 which brings us upto the Mr Nice years.

What was Sensi Skunk? We used to grow that, it was one friend's favorite. It had the sweetest skunk flavor and made you laugh your ass off.

Another guy, in the same circle, had 4-way as his production piece. I didn't "get it", but a lot of people really liked the 4-way. I thought it was kinda boring, with all due respect.

Silver Pearl was a big yielder, but the clone I had had a mildewy taste to it. It was beautiful, but I couldn't get past the taste. I did not get to work with any but the one, I am sure there were better tasting phenotypes.

Early Pearl was a great strain. It wasn't the most potent, but it was pleasant. I used to travel to Ohio to get it from some outdoor growers from there in the 90's. These guys grew a fuck-ton - had big storage rooms rented out to keep it in.

I sure do miss that flavor.

You gotta wonder how many of the modern big-name cuttings are actually old stuff from Nev's seeds renamed?

I think Nev said something about the juicy fruit/fruity juice that its a thai x afghan or Thai x NL and that you would have to ask sensi which one they used. I think that's what I read pretty sure it was shortly after he appeared. I tell ya it does smell a bit like that gum.

Curious about the Sensi skunk too...

and on a completely unrelated note anybody know what K.C. 606 is? some kinda skunk???

No idea, KC Brains worked at Positronics and some of his work was sold under their brand in the 90s, he's from Brazil and used a lot of Brazilian genes, don't know much else about him, I like his work though, grown a few of his strains, Mango is a fave of mine.
