Confused about who really has which skunk #1

The REAL ORIGINAL Uncle Festers/Hells Angels 1969 SKUNK18 IBL.... Original Sk1

IS alive, and well.

1969 Skunk#18 IBL Open Pollination- Original Skunk#1
2/3 Sativa 1/3 Indica

These are Original Skunk#1 line derived from 1969 stock via Inbred line, passed to Thai after his uncles passing In Eureka, CA. Pre Skunkman Skunk#1.

And also go by a few other handles, Such as Uncle Festers Skunk#18 IBL(from the keeper), Professor Beatnik Skunk#18 IBL, Hells Angels Skunk, Cali Skunk, we choose one truer to form being 69′ Skunk#18 IBL which is when these Skunk seeds were derived from.

Number 5 and number 7 female are the RKS leaners from our open pollination run and will be hunted down further, they are included in this open pollination release. Id say the RKS pops up in 20% of the expression. The number 20 male was dead on Match to the 5 female so something to keep in mind very animal musk scented with good acrid chemical touches. Number 5 female was tops in the true bouquet and super musky acrid chemical eye and nose burning skunk musk funk, dead on, and then theres the other great males were present. Extremely pungent onion chemical fuel male Number 20, and the frostiest sativa dominant number 8 had the Cheese musk heavy as well on a totally different build highly on 7 female but more animal musk on the aged cheese funk.
Number 2 is raw white onion chemical and the dankest rich soil humus as rich as any ground coffee but not coffee. Stout hybrid 50/50 look. Has was i call “Onion” tail leaf. Early on she is pure raw white onion chemical. Very acrid and then it evens out by finish into a wonderful bouquet. Heavily double serrated individual. Very quality plant with extremely thick cola formations. A good 10-11 week flower. Yield is high. Calyx to leaf ratio is low. Node spacing is tight.
Number 5 Female Afghani Dominant heavy “stretch” monocola look. Old Musky acrid chemical eye and nose burning skunk musk funk. Elongated Claw reaching leaf, golfball ghani stature and very Acrid. Purple leaf and darker Skunk look. Half Double Serrated type individual. Yield is high. Calyx to leaf ratio was average compared to the other phenos. Node spacing is average.
Number 7 female. Purer mexi sativa expression. “Chemical Spray” dominant. She is pure burning acrid chemical strong as Trinity in her chemical burn and it doesnt let up. Stomach churn, nose and eyes burn. They have true linger and permeating quality and its inside the plants grease, not just the flower scent. Full plant double serrations. A good 12 week plus flower with early Mexi scents heavy. Elmers glue trichome, extreme calyx and very tight dense build. Yield is above average. Calyx to leaf ratio is low. Node spacing is average.
Number 9 female is colgate trash juice, damn near rotten scope mouthwash. Stout hybrid 50/50 look. Green Acrid Chemical astringent with a touch of rotten rubber. Not pleasant stomach churn quality. A good 12 week flower. Yield is above average. Calyx to leaf ratio is low. Node spacing is average.
Number 10 female is brand new vinyl, clear bouncie ball rubber and pure chemical terpenes. Sativa, Colombian dominant Mexi extreme Calyx stack Pheno. Extreme dense and caked with pure goop. Fully double serrated individual. Yield is above average. Calyx to leaf ratio is low. Node spacing is tight for her 12 week flower.
Number 11 Female, and Number 14, are on the cheese path and each is highly acrid chemical on top of that funk.
11 being that yellow auto interior foam insulation, dead on and super tasty, if you like those sweet chemical noses. Also huge football buds. The plant was extreme thin leaf double serrated sativa. Of all the females she was the biggest throw down, least tight nug structure but still absolutely dripping and a huge kief producer. Extreme coloration. By finish she was that same profile auto interior foam, with an added black hash burn finish extremely reminiscent of the 89′ Uk Cheese just more chemical oriented. Calyx to leaf ratio extremely low. Node spacing average.
Number 14 being the truly gamey animal chemical cheese funk. Stout hybrid look and one of the frostiest of the group And thats saying something. Good classic noses to this gal at points where astringent bleaches, to onion chem spray, and finishing on the final profile once dry. A good 12 week plus flower. Calyx to leaf ratio is quite low. Node spacing is average.

Keepers selected from a 4 pack seed run and repopulated. Felt this is something needed doing with the current focus on Skunk1 genetics, but also the Fact of the originator ( THAI ) of these seeds ripping folks off, and not keeping his word to members in our community for no reason whatsoever, especially when his genetic selection is solid.

He is Master Thai Organic Seed garden, and our open pollination recreation was never to harm, but rather to preserve the experience for everyone. This is his Uncle Festers line, preserved via seed stock, and I kept a mother RKS for us to enjoy, and thats what i intend for all, "NOT" to rip anyone off like where these originate.

Like i always say, we let the genetics speak for themselves.

So there is a few underlying circumstances that have lead me to give you the same shot that I have for Magic. The Main thing is, because it is what the genetics, and the plant deserves, and so do you.

The Nature Farm.

I bought the last packs.

Cool beans LesPaul!

Let us know what you find?

I read over on IC that the RKS is apparently very hard to find in fester's beans too though, if it is in there at all (which it should be I suppose).

A few people apparently already tried and claim that fester bred towards some pest resistance or the other and/or outdoor friendliness more so than RKS terps or the like.

But I agree that it sounds closest to or among best of the skunk offerings out there, so very curious to see what you find in those beans. Finger's crossed Bro!

And regarding the phylo galaxy:
I played around with it a little and found it hard to use but just for the lulz tried to lookup Blueberry and see if maybe DJ Short entered anything already. When I got a hit and looked at the genetic analysis or what they call it, it basically says that Blueberry is mostly hemp or closely related to hemp moreso than Indica, Sativa, CBD or whatever.

I did some research and remembered I had already heard something about this particular entry into the phylo galaxy and in my mind the following opinion formed:
I think that DJ short was one of the first bigger names and known entities to enter his genetics into the phylo galaxy if memory serves (he only entered Blueberry, Flo and the blueberry/Flo father if I remember correctly).
And his analysis basically tarnished the reputation of his legendary Blueberry strain by coming out as being mostly hemp.

I believe that he wasn't very excited about that and that others saw what happened there and thus are more hesitant to include their own strains.

Would explain why MRN for example hasn't entered anything.

Because normally phylo galaxy should show a lot of those strains that all incorporate and build on the MRN strains without giving credit.

But if the analysis than essentially trashes your genetics (or at least users who aren't as knowledgeable about breeding will interpret the results like that), then I can understand how other breeders might be hesitant to enter anything. And if the big names don't enter anything then the whole project becomes somewhat moot...

The person at Nature Farm Genetics has the original genes.

Uncle Festers Nephew has the genes, gave them to a couple other people, and 1 of them is/was offering the seeds for sale, as he says Master Thai ( Festers Nephew ) is in some way not being above board to the community, even though he ( MT ) is the possessor of the original genes. I don't know the politics, of situation, and don't care. All I know is I got the genes.

It will probably be a while before theyre started as Ive got to many others going at the moment.

From the nature farms insta, the skunk line has variations in how it smells, but there are rks phenos. I believe the skunk 18 line was bred for pest/mold resistance, but this line was bred separate from sams, so it is still rank.

There was skunk in the 70's in California, but that wasn't a specific strain.
Here an interesting quote;

"We had got a hold of some seeds and planted them at the abandon house across the street. There was a faucet right in the backyard. They grew tall and lanky and pretty. We chopped em' down, dried em' and smoked em'....worst f'n headache! The shit smelled like hay and we wanted Skunk-weed. We had smoked it once and were told that unless we had an ass-load of money, like $50, we had better grow it ourselves. Well, There was no Jorge or Ed or anything else available to us. Even if somebody had a High Times ( they were rare) There was nothing in them but B.S.

So we headed down the street to Joe's house. He was almost 17. He had a car, a girlfriend, and was the bastion of all knowledge; especially weed stuff. Joe sat us down and set us straight. "If you want skunk weed you gotta plant it way out by the river where skunks could spray it" Well, we started our next crop that spring in front of the power plant in cosmetic shrubs the size of 7-8 foot-ball fields where we played army. There were automatic sprinklers and those bushes were full of skunks. We planted about 300 seeds .My mom was pissed for a month when she couldn't find that large box of Miracle Grow. I'll betcha know what happened next..... Actually dicked the whole thing off... forgot about em, we were idiots. When we did finally slide through the fence, it was a feeling like no other. We could smell the skunk. Joe was right!"

There was Skunk, By Name in the 60s sorry. And its well known.

This stuff is 10+ years before Sam the Rat Skunkman messed it up. And everyone else that mucked with the original genes.

I believe the Angles, and care 0 what anyone else sys, or tries to cloud things.

Uncle Fester stabilized this stuff by 69, and was taken by a couple breeders, incl the sam the rat, and bastardized it with Sweetooth #3, to make it sweet, and killed the RKS in it, by crossing, breeding the RKS out of it. also not saying some of the old, bastardized Sk1 was pretty damn good, but was not the same shit as the original. I loved the SSSC Sk1.

That's like taking a Pitbull, and breeding it with a Cocker Spaniel, as far as changing the genetics. You may have some nice little dogs from the cross, but they aint no Pitbull.

There are 20% RKS Phenos in Uncle Festers/Nature Farm Genetics. genes.

There are also CHEESE PHENOS.

Anyone like Cheese Pheno ?? I believe this Pheno is Highly Sought After ??? And 1 can cop a Cheese Pheno, not to mention the RKS ?????

Anyone who ever thought this stuff was homogenous and was just straight RKS, and didn't have several phenos, is showing their ignorance. There are Several Phenos, and Matthew,,,, describes them, and the Males he used for breeding.

Some of these phenos also have Double Serrated Leaves, and some Don't. Leaves on a big plant, can get as big as your chest. Huge. Basketball size leaves.

We were getting Skunk, by name, in east Kentucky as long ago as 73, and we also had 1 from Cali called Beach Ball Indica, and was also grown in Meigs County Ohio in the early 70s. It actually came to east ky, via Meigs in 72, and was a Pre Soviet Afghani, that was lung buster, and Red in color. It grew like a hedge like a forsythia, or a round beach ball.

Theres still skunk around here in KY where I am, but Ive lost touch with it, as I served 6+ years in federal prison, and 8 Supervised Release for cultivation, and things have passed to others I don't know. But its not pure. It has some really, really stinky phenos, but really IMHO, many confuse Cat Piss, with Skunk.

BOEL also had the Skunk genes, in the 60s.

Ive been smoking weed for over 50 years. Sorry if you don't remember, or ever got the early skunk weed.

HothouseFlowers,
"'Skunk' was initially a name for a strong smelling line of hybridised and acclimatised Pure Sativas grown in California by the Mother Earth communes in the mid to late 60s. I believe these where all South American lines in the genetic mix."
"Just like Haze, Skunk was a generic term used in these ME communes. BOEL marketed crops sold as Skunk prior to 1970..enterprising seed dealers utillised the names to reflect el primo products of the day, just as happens now.."

1969 Skunk#18 IBL Open Pollination- Original Skunk#1
2/3 Sativa, 1/3 Indica
Instead of describing how crosses may be, i will just describe the Males and Females of the 1969 Skunk#18 IBL Open Pollination Line and what they will likely bring to the Pairings as a whole line.
These are Original Skunk#1 line derived from 1969 stock via Inbred line, passed to Thai after his uncles passing In Eureka, CA. Pre Skunkman Skunk#1. Firstly Effect like a freightrain for the brain, cerebral magic, brightens the day to where your squinting its so bright, wakes you up and bakes you the fuck out whole being. Every pheno has extensive expansion qualities and most were quite resinous with melt glands.
Thats what was found and what you can expect with true end mexi notes, only sweet they have, not pine, no fruit.
And other nasty ended scents like burnt wire, rubber, onion, astringent bleach notes, pissy, aged cheesy black hash tones, green acrid funks. The Entire run they Morph scents and are even more pungent and funk once dry. The line itself is wide open in the regards of the funk and type of it you will find as well as the plants, but they do have an overall similar appearance in the mexi looks. There is some extreme indica expressions as well, different types of stout Ghanis to Stretch Ghanis.
The plants themselves are beyond vigorous and thick membraned showing their trie heritage. Most are full double serrated plants and also display extra digits and most display absolutely amazing builds. Some of the prettiest and most agressive controlled plants that i have had the pleasure to have under hand.
To the cross pairings they will instill very nice Vigor, enhance build and branching of most any and all kind. They will enhance Potency with added Mexi cerebral magic. Brighter and more vibrant with true expansion qualities all around. I do not know how they will dominate, but in this case i hope they do. The line is pure Magic in my opinion with Acrid Chemical and True Skunk1 qualities.
****These are pre release and felt this is something needed doing with the current focus on Skunk1 genetic but also the Fact of the originator of these seeds ripping folks off and not keeping his word to many members in our community for no reason whatsoever, especially when his genetic selection is solid.

I don't care if anyone wants to argue about it or not. I know what they are, and its well known among many nor cal breeders, these are the real deal beans that have the RKS pheno. 1 in 5.

Would like to get my hands on some of these beans. Ive heard there now out of stock:(

FFS, y'all are trying to recreate something that you (most of you anyway) have never experienced and don't really even know if you would be impressed.

The best thing about skunk to me is that it incorporated great structure in acceptably high-grade weed. NOT the best smoking weed.

I do remember strong skunk weed, and at the time I loved it. But it was never on par with the best landrace for effect IN MY OPINION. It's only that.

Lol. I shouldn't get so irritated. I search for my own "grail" mostly among the sativas. But I am getting some Blockhead Xs soon.

Good growing.

Not trying to "Recreate Anything".

Just trying to obtain the real shit. Period.

We had skunk in my neck of the woods as early as 73. By Name. Skunk.

Came from Meigs County Ohio via California. Most was mixed with South Indian, and Afghani.

It's not the same and we are not the same. Unless it's a cut, or seeds that haven't been touched, it's gonna have drift.

My point is that MOST people searching haven't even had it. They are searching for other people's experiences from another time. That being said, I do have two "Acapulco gold" seedlings going.

Peace and good growing.

There seems to be a lot of interest in resurrecting road kill skunk weed. The New Skunk on the MNS auctions always fetches good money, and I believe Shanti has said you'd need to go through 3 packs of it to find a RKS pheno.

Interesting about the origins of skunk being acclimatized sativas from South America. I was under the impression that it wasn't skunk until the Indica was crossed.

As a consumer, at the far end of the distribution chain, I never saw much skunk, even in the 80s, because I was smoking Mexican and Colombian sativas in New Jersey and Texas, homegrown sinsemilla in Arizona, and chem weed from Western Mass in the 90s. I hope you guys find what you're looking for, because I'd love to try some.

Colombian x Mazar F2 X Acupulco = Skunk .
Colombian x Mazar was the 1st cross .

Whether anyone wants to believe it or not.

Its a well known fact, that Uncle Fester made this stuff. Case closed. Its well documented People can deny , or confuse, argue, whatever, all they want, but facts are facts.

Uncle Fester the Hells Angel, made the original Sk18/Sk1, and it is an IBL, and it has 1 in 20 RKS Phenos, It has Cheese Phenos..

And anyone having anything to say this or that about the strain.

Considering the strain IS UNCLE FESTERS, please submit where your evidence Uncle Fester did this or that to alter his strain. Don't mention what others may have doe to alter the genes, but please state where the info about where UF did anything to the Original SK18 Genes.

You wont be able to, because his family has it, the Hells Angels Have it, and a few other have it, and The Nature farm happens to be the 1 releasing it, because I believe Master Thai ( Festers Nephew ) when back on his word about some things, so they said FU Nephew, and are now releasing the ORIGINAL genes to the public. And the people are mad, because the guy does have good genetics. I don't know the whole story, but the guy went back on promises to the Nor Cal community.

G `day Les

But , but , but Mendocino Joe aka Romulan Joe created Skunk !? LOL .

Go shill your shill fantasies elsewhere there are people here who know better .

Thanks for sharin

Wrong. Everyone, Sacred Seeds/Mendicino Joe ect, original genes come from Hell Angels/Uncle Fester. And not the guy from the 80s making bomb books, meth cooking ect.

Take your Shilling, elsewhere. Everyone knows Uncle Fester was the originator of the Real 1969 Original Skunk. We had Skunk here in KY as early as 73. Long before Sacred Seeds, or any of them. $30 oz. $80 1/4lb. No Seeds. Stank like Skunk, Fuel, Onions, and Flowers. All other weed was mostly $20 oz, full of seeds. $40 1/4lb. Last time I saw it was in 82. It took until at least 1st week of Nov to finish. Unlike this modern stuff that's done 1st week Sept - 15th.
Most phenos of SK18 go 12 weeks. Not 7.

Mendicino Joes version was also more Indica dominant. 50%... SK18 is 2/3 Sativa. Columbian Gold, Acapulco Gold x Pre Soviet Kandahar. Probably got it from BOEL.

Everyone also knows Master Thai is Uncle Festers Nephew, and left him, and some others, the genetics.

While I don't know the whole story. The Nor Cal community is mad at MT at the moment, for going back on his word about something, and some feel he is ripping some people off. I believe he promised to release the genes, then let a few out, that may have been inferior, like not mature, and charging big bucks for them.

So The Nature Farm Genetics also has the original genes, and he has released them, and are all gone, and wont be back until late this year, or early next. He does have crosses.

This was also the First commercial Release in 17

I believe Romulan/Mendicino Joe started working with the skunk in Mid/Late 70s, and also bred the Stink out of it. Fester had this stuff stabilized by 69, and was grown on The Hog Farm at least as early as 67. Mid/Late 70s is almost 10 years before Joe got it.

Riot Seeds claims to have the Burnt Rubber Pheno S1 seeds of this strain. Lol. Only 2 left.

They only want $500.

G`day 59

Everyone knows ?
I`ve been following the Sk story since the mid 80s . Aint never heard of Uncle Fester or Master Thai .

Mendo Joe is an urban myth along with the Sacred Seeds bust and dumpster diving created by a poster by the handle of Nom De Fluer . In the early days of canna forums . A myth perpetuated by the gullible and those wanting to add intrigues to their trope .

Weak sauce .

Thanks for sharin

Just because you've not heard of MT, doesn't mean he doesn't exist. MTs been around a long time.

Ive also been growing weed since 1972, and smoking since 67. Ive seen a lot of weed. The 80s, is nothing.
