Cannatrol Cure Cool System

I’m trying to figure out what to grow next. The G13 x Princess haze is very good and I have the mothers but it might be susceptible to mold.

I think the reason I got mold is because I didn’t think to check the temperature of the air blowing out of the AC vent in the small room I was drying in.
The gauges (2 different sets) said 60/60 but the AC vent was blowing 42-45F air out constantly. The exhaust vent above the plants could have been sucking up the colder air and 46 F being the dew point could have been the cause.

The last plant I used the same room but I closed the AC vent and didn’t get any mold.

Could the AC vent cold air of 42-45 F cause the flowers to get specks of mold on the surface even if the room temperature reads 58-64 F 58-62RH?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Mine finally kicked over to hold setting.
I didn’t weigh the hemp bags they included.

Once I started unloading the device I didnt want to leave the door open

My total weight was 344 grams dry.
I removed 7 grams of leaves and stems before weighing and I am guessing the hemp bags are 5 but less than 10 each.
I don’t remember the exact weight before drying but I know it was between 800-850 grams.

So 344 minus the weight of the hemp bags of dry flowers.

I’m guessing bags weigh 5 grams each,

The machine brings it back to the settings really quickly, but I too don't leave it open for but for 1 tray at a time removal and handling.
I can help ya with the hemp bag weight, just weighed at 10g each.
How do you like the initial sampling?

My 1st 2 rounds where of ASH, and honestly I wasn't so impressed with the Cannatrol then.
But, per their advice, its true that it was due to my plants were just meh/OK, though it's literally been a life saver to a friend of a friend with Stage 4 cancer. Great appetite stimulator.
Since then I've been nailing most plants each time and amazed at the quality 9 days after harvest(8 + 1 for initial hang). The smoothness is crazy.
I grow somewhat of a perpetual harvest, targeting 3-6 every 2 weeks when possible, so my Cannatrol has had very little hold time. 😋

It’s hard for me to make any good decisions how it affects the overall flavor from a head cold but smoothness was one thing I noticed right away.
My fellow patients all have some samples so time will tell.

I’d like to do some comparisons with my next few harvests. Also I am curious about how curing further in a jar versus storing in the device. The device does keep the temperature at 68F constantly so for a good comparison I need to store the container at 68 F which is easier said than done.

got 310 grams dry from 800-850 grams of wet and used all the lower flowers. I wasn’t expecting that much.
I think if I used the choice flowers using the same strain I could have gotten 25% more.

I’m very curious how long flowering time hazes turn out using a 9 day dry and cure.
If the system works on strains like Mango haze then I don’t know what to think about long time traditional curing.

Good point. I've been running and curing quick finishers.
My next run will be the remaining 9 MHI & 9 NHM seeds I have to extend, so we'll have to test.
The Mohan Ram & A13 I'm smoking now are<30 days post harvest and the buds are freckin perfect. Crystals shiny thru the buds. Firm, yet moist. Great aroma, clean burn and hitting. Happy pappy.
On that note, 💨

I still have my last harvest stored in the CC system.
I noticed the sponge absorbed a smell of chlorophyll in the beginning but now after 6-8 weeks it’s gone.
The aroma now after 6-8+ weeks has improved since the 10 days cycle ended.

I will soon be making some bubble hash and will use the machine for drying.

It’s cold outside so it should be good for making bubble hash.

I removed the corrugated hose and put on a regular hose.
It works but I suggest leaving it alone as is.The size I needed was 1-1/4 “ ID which is a big hose and a pain to get it all back together.

IMG_0451.jpeg‘Corrugated hose’?
The little drainage area in the back?
Yes some people leave it on and others cut it off and use a smooth surface hose with a plug or valve.

I don’t know if any hash would get trapped in the grooves as long as it’s kept cold.

Many of the videos say it uses a 3/4 ID hose but the nipple is 1-1/8”.
I was able to use a 1” ID hose but forcing it on using heat I could see the plastic flexing.

My only reason to bring up the modification is I don’t know if it’s worth the trouble.Getting everything back together was like two monkeys screwing a football.
Hold one part in place the other side popped out of place.

Took a long time to make the bubble hash.
It’s in the CC system drying.
The CC device is working.Keeps the bubble cool and it’s starting to dry.
It’s been a little over 24 hours and I turned it over.
Color is changing a bit.

I don’t know if Frenchy waits until the hash is completely dry before making it into a temple ball.He does seem to make his bubble into a thin rectangular brick as he scrapes it off the bags.
I was going to freeze it and grate it for sprinkling on flowers but I wanted to use the CC device.
Pictures coming soon as I get off my lards.

Here’s a picture of the dry process after about 30 hours.

IMG_0461.jpegNice looking hash @CBDcure. That machine sounds like a pretty cool tech. How dry does the hash feel? God, I love some good bubble

I recently lost 17 grams of bubble, to mold 😥.

Now after 48 hours I thinned it out and it’s starting to get darker with an oil like shine in places.
I measured the amount of water that the CC device removed and it was an ounce of water.

So far the only time there’s water in tray is when there’s fresh wet flowers or wet bubble hash.Once products are dry the tray seems to stay empty even after soaking the sponge.

I just looked at the bubble under a microscope and I didn’t see any spider web like mold or spores. When my flowers get mold I usually see fine long spider web threads that aren’t visible with the naked eye.
Here’s what it looks like now.The frost appearance is actually shiny with the naked eye.
Kind of looks like frost on flowers through the camera picture.

I should have frozen it and grated it up but I figured the CC device should have it dry within 2-3 days.
One reason I flattened it out was to speed up the drying and I will likely press it into a temple ball or make some cannolis.
The weight is starting to remain constant every 4-5 hours after weighing.
I guess I could freeze it and grate it using a metal strainer?
Next batch I will freeze it immediately.
If I had to describe the texture now it has changed from to being almost like taffy. If I pull on the edges it stretches like clay.I can see the texture on the inside and it’s lighter but stretches with some grainy texture and appearance.
This is all new to me.

Here’s some at 150 magnification. The last picture is from the first wash in the 160 bag and after that there was nothing else caught.Looks like broken stalks and plant material.
The rest is from the 45 bag.
I don’t see any signs of mold.
