3 x Mango Haze 1000W Vertical RDWC Grow

Update

Hey guys, I had so many problems I decided to stop posting and fix everything first. I lost 2 of my seedplants, the other one (MH#2) I managed to set it in soil and it survived. I don't know what went wrong with the transplant. I also lost 3 other plants, my RDWC system has 6 sites. I tried to fix everything but I kept losing them one by one. I replaced the lost plants with clones from the MH seeplants. The problem was at transplant since all the new clones are 100% healthy.

This is the first clone, it is a clone from MH#2, and the one that shows the most vigor. First picture is at week 1, it might be 4 inches tall at most.

Here you can see the MH#2 clone and the MH#2 seedplant.

Here you can see the MH#2 clone's top. This plant is around 6-7ft tall.

This is the first time I see calyxes with these shapes. Does shape help in determining traits? Any input is appreciated.

Looking good :)

You should try a giving your mango females a couple additives and see how they perk up :)

It looks like they could use a bit or Iron

Amazon.com: Iron Liquid Concentrate 16 Flu: Patio, Lawn & Garden

Also I'd give them some Molasses, you can find that at the grocery store pretty easily as well.

Amazon.com: Liquid Molasses Horticultural - Gallon: Patio, Lawn & Garden

Last but not last would be Epson Salt :) you can also find this at the grocery store.

Amazon.com: Epsom Salts/Magnesium Sulfate 10lbs: Patio, Lawn & Garden

You won't BELIEVE the difference 20$ could make to those plants, resin production, terpenoid profile, smell complexity. Everything will heighten.

If money isn't an issue, I'd also recommend a couple of these products.

Bud Blood

Amazon.com: Advanced Nutrients Bud Blood - 300 Grams: Patio, Lawn & Garden

Bud Candy

Amazon.com: Advanced Nutrients Bud Candy - 4L: Patio, Lawn & Garden

Bud Ignitor

Amazon.com: Advanced Nutrients Bud Ignitor 1 Liter (Advanced Nutrients): Patio, Lawn & Garden

Gravity

http://www.amazon.com/Humboldt-Coun...UTF8&qid=1355740476&sr=1-116&keywords=gravity

Silica

http://www.amazon.com/Dutch-Master-...355739970&sr=1-3&keywords=dutch+master+silica

or

Rhino Skin

http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Nutr...TF8&qid=1355740017&sr=1-1&keywords=rhino+skin

A couple of these you could possibly find cheaper elsewhere, and a couple probably not.

Each one of those has a specific purpose, and I've done side by sides, you can't go wrong with them. Good luck my friend, hope all goes well, and hope for you to have a heavy harvest!

How I do it is I'll feed normally flower A + B and add one or more of those additives in as I see fit in terms of the plant's health.

Ouchie,

Thanks for the advice, I would purchase more additives if I could, and I can't use organics but in this new run I'm applying foliar silica, but in this RWDC systems it is pretty hard to add more stuff, the system is at least 45gals + fill up tank 45 gals more, I use RO water, and I live in a third world country. I finished my grow without much problems, however the plants didn't look perfect because of problems with heat, it got up to 100F (global warming?) and it seems they didn't hermie because the chiller kept the root zone at 68F, but my MH in soil did hermie a little from the heat. I also had some hiccups in the system (it was my design and my first run with it.) As I mentioned in another post, MH#1 yielded ~200g, MH#2 in its 3 runs yielded ~50g each, and MH#3 yielded ~70g. There is also the problem that I was running all 3 phenos in the same system so it is really hard to manage deficiencies.

In this run things look better but I haven't had the chance to do much, like taking pics, plus I haven't got much done because I was too stoned to do anything, it is the first time I yield so much MJ, and quality MJ for that matter. I was so stoned that I miscalculated the start of this run and I ran out of MJ. At least, I'm sober to lead this run into perfection. I have 2 MH#2 in the RDWC system, and about 20 clones in 1L pots w/ 100% coco, to treat them individually and see if I get them rootbound (yeah right, lol). Even in these pots these things haven't stop growing, I was trying to SCROG to see if they finish faster/smaller but it seems they do need to reach certain size before flowering . However, things have been getting hotter and hotter around here (global warming?), and it might be impossible to do a run in the tent. I might try to do it outdoors (year-round 12/12) but I have to fix a couple of things first to stealth the grow.

johnpeace,

Thanks for the advice, I didn't have any problems, but the roots did not touch the insulation. It might be good to wash the insulation before using it.

Your plants did well for your temperatures and access to water :) I take for granted sometimes I have access to a lot of things easier than other parts of the world. I was just passing on the things I've learned over the years, Mango Haze is by far one of my favorite plants. Mango Haze can be taken directly into 12/12 from seed and still grow 2 meters tall. You should try flowering a smaller plant and see if it's more manageable, I was so shocked the first time I flowered a smaller haze plant and it finished larger than indica/kush vegged for weeks.

Ouchie,

It is interesting to note that in my hydro system, since plants can't get root bound, they all reach the same height/size before flowering, independently of the age of the clone. I tried with 3 clones of MH#2. One went straight to 12/12, the other was about 2 weeks old, and the other one was 1 month old, and again they all got to about 6-7ft tall before flowering. That is why I'm trying to use 1L pots now, but it seems they are just huge plants.

I have a doubt but I can't get a straight answer from all the posts on the 'net. It is known that sativa hybrids are light feeders, and RDWC systems require less nutrients as well, and at the moment I'm running at 0.35 EC as suggested in another post here at MNS. My plants don't show any signs of deficiencies, they are beautifully green, but I know my plants went up to 1.4EC before they showed nute burns. Should I keep going like this? I'm just trying to do a straight run without doing any reservoir changes, just adding more water and nutrients, as suggested in the Lucas Formula forums.

And another question? Is it normal the stretch shown by my plants? I've seen denser MH plants, and I believe mine stretched too much from the heat.
