also, my mate with whom i have the bet going regarding whether the eQ's will be better than my ak is starting to worry!! lol!

*as far as things i can report, so far the smell factor is nice and low key!! the way i like it!
- so take a look at the leaf shape on my #2 eQ. is that the superskunk coming through? i'm tryin to learn as best i can..

Speculating on a possible misinterperted quote sounds like a 21st century battle ground in the making, and we are simply in search or the real EQ and everything that surrounds her. No offense wonkadonk, nevil, no wish for an argument, only peace.

I did ask for a little clarification in that thread, as the sentence is worded a bit unclearly. Nevil seemed to be pretty sure of what he said. He is the one who bred it after all. A little clearer confirmation would be nice though.

hey wonkadonk. good things come to those who wait.. have faith, n all will hopefully b answered.. that is the goal of this thread! just in case u missed it, my guesswork reasoning pertaining to Nev's quote is in post #21- 'what's in an eQ'... i'm am an obsessive re-editor, so sometimes my posts are not chronological! ie- i'm constantly adding to past posts.. please also bear in mind that this thread is in it's infancy, and as such, there will be plenty of unanswered questions at this stage.. cheers mate, we'll get there in the end!! jj

wow matey,.. They are looking real nice. Quite explosive in their bud formation.

EQ is a strain I have always wanted to try. Maybe this summer I can try and get some seeds and do them outdoors..

Be Well,
Doobz

Reading the rest of that thread again Nevil seems to make it pretty clear Early Queen is NL5Hz (1 or 122?) x EPSK ?
Looking at the description under strains doesn't make it clearer to me. You'll have to ask Shanti. I know I made some EP.SK1 X NL5.HzC seeds. MNS sold them but I can't remember the name. Names don't mean much to me. Super Skunk, Ultra Skunk, Nordle. It's all AfgT x SK1 to me.

state of confusion/stoned

Thanks guys. Its obviously not of great concern to everyone, but it is to us, thanks for your time and insight. Any and all...

I'm sure they are sold as Early Skunk Haze.

Not too sure about EQ, but I think its Early Pearl x Early Girl. So lemarcels family tree would suggest anyway...

Two EQ's are powering under near perfect growing conditions, warm and humid with occasional showers. Their clones are coming along and I'm looking forward to seeing whether there is any variation on the commencement of flowering as the mothers have been pruned twice and will be again at least once as the neighbors get a bit nervous if they grow too tall, (so do I).

Nice to see that Nevil has dropped in and should you do so again Nevil could you suggest when I should stop topping the mothers so that flowering is not delayed?

Hi Minarvi, looking good. You've got squillions fo buds sites happening there mate. Reckon you'll need to move the fence :D

G`day Minarvi
Nice little corner of the world you`ve got there . I think you can top your plants until the 1st flowers show /stretching starts as the plants are still vegging ounce flowering more energy is devoted to the stretch and flowering processes . Have you heard of super cropping ? It serves a similar end but can be done further into the flowering cycle without loosing any vigour .

The 2nd video I added for larf that dude is lookin for serious yeild lol LST ,topping and supercropping in one wow !

Thanks for sharin

Thanks for sharin
Elmer Bud .

Skunk...

Guessin' that super skunk is the base you better prepare for some serious buds, and soon...

Like JJ/Elmer said training the plants to a desired shape is beyond usefull. A trellis, cage, stakes and string, whatever, you have some serious cola's comin' bro. Happy farming:D

Onset of flowering will tell you everything you want to know...

Yes, this is so but say the first flowers were due to show on say Feb 1 and the plants happened to have been topped on Jan 30. This would delay the onset of flowers until the plant had recovered from the prune and so the eventual harvest date would be delayed.

This season I have no desire to maximise my eventual result and am happy to top my plants to keep them from growing to their maximum height. I grew my first crop in 1978 and have used all kinds of methods to keep them down including tying the main stems but this year I am only interested in sampling a couple of seeds developed by real breeders rather than seeds I've come across over the years from friends and those I've developed myself in an haphazard way.

Growing conditions remain perfect here and I topped the two large EQ's again this morning. If I had grown these before I would have some idea when they are likely to begin flowering and would not top them closer to around 2-3 weeks before that time and that is what Nevil might be able to assist me with if he wanders through this thread again.

Another reason not to encourage huge colas this year is the likelihood of rain in these parts during flowering. Last year I went for tying them down and not tipping them at all and I had problems with mould and this year is threatening to be much wetter.

Anyway, thanks for the interest guys, it's all good.

my EQ's flower nice and start flowering quite quickly as long as i havent topped them 2 - 3 weeks before switching to flower

when ive topped them a day or 3 before switching all i got was popcorn sized buds

hey minarvi.. good to see ya. regarding big colas and mold, shouldn't b a problem with the eQ.. it's meant to b very mold resistant. one of the reasons i chose to check her out... man u been growin awhile..

hey bb. any chance of throwin up some pics, dude?

speak soon, jj

nah , i dont feel safe tossing up pics , a simple google search on any given members name shows way too much info , i had lots of pics under a diff name , and a couple under this name , but ive pulled them all

i might see about posting some as a new name and from a friends laptop pc (stollen net connection/ip from walmarts parking lot)

EQ is actually very impressive given the cost or lack of :D

when i top mine i get nice side branches with medium sized buds , when not topped they dont branch out much unless vegged for a good month or more , but untopped produce a nice big main cola with small ones covering/filling the stem from top to bottom

hey bb. regarding the pics, thats sweet- i understand. how long u been growin eQ? any advice on phenotype expressions or any pointers? cheers mate, jj

4 crops now , told you what i know phenowise id think because i only kept 1 mom

pointers? ,,,, hmmm , it handles full dose ferts , can take temps of 95 (lights on) , it clones super easy and roots super fast has a bit of a cat piss smell when flowering/harvesting according to my woman (i dont smell things very well) , finishes quite fast , my pheno is 55 days from 12/12 not from first showing of sex , but i already know my clones are girls :p

ummmmm , im a bit stoned right now , any questions in particular ?

im running CM right now too and the EQ yeilds almost as much , but finishes a week to 10 days sooner

I hope that's correct about EQ being resistant to mould but don't see how this could be so but I'm happy to learn that it is as Autumn here is threatening to be very wet.

As for me growing for awhile, I'm no spring chicken. :) That's not to say I have been in a position to do a grow every year but I've done more than a few. If only I knew what I do now when I first started but we did our best to work our way through all the myths and legends that abounded back in the day.

My hobby has always been gardening and it has always been a bonus when I have been able to have a few girls out the back. Pot is the easiest of plants to grow if given it's desired environment and it is certainly very satisfying.
