Well Ive been reading up on it, specifically in a book by Dr. Michal Miovsky from the Addictology department at the Charles university in Prague. Next time Ill see him Ill ask if he would be so kind as to let me translate it into English, theres a lot of comprehensive information regarding the plant, its history and an immensely comprehensive study of cannabinoids by Dr. Lumir Hanus (discoverer of Anandamide), the small segment refers to the strain Cannabis Sativa spp. spontanea (our rudi) and its phyto - anthropology, it could quite well be the Scythian cannabis of old gone wild and of course mixed through the milennia with other strains, but its quite obviously active so not Texas technical Hemp ditchweed. Considering the enormous Roman settlements in the area, one named Vindibona later became known as Vienna, as well as the use of Scythians as mercenaries we can hope that this is the one they brought from the Hymalayas.
Its a terrible shame to lose that turkish one Nev, Id reackon the climate down there would be somehow able to help the plant retain its THC levels, only sea level elevation poor in UV light would give me concern. It is very much true that going through the endless swaths of rudi you can see marked differences in the look and effect of the plants. Some can quite well be considered "keepers", thick fat plants with a distinct indica look (even though the leaves lean more toward sativa shape), those are the ones I was looking for out there. Try and consider coming to Cannafest here in Prague, I would love it for breeders and caregivers to meet up with Dr. Hanus who will be lecturing with me there, Id love to introduce you to him, I think there could be a lot of beneficial synergy for us sick folks. Thats what Im after, for the scientific community to communicate with us in the underground and I am definitely not at your level of ability so the benefit from discussion between us is limited. Being bilingual I can however help in my own little way.
As far as the effects of the rudi hash is concerned, I would put it on a THC scale of one to ten a solid 2. Its very very weak and many of my "healthy" friends say its little more than relaxing. I on the other hand was quite surprised at the effect it had on the spacticity in my legs, it loosened the knots up at least as well as the high THC strains. So my only real reason for smoking a high THC strain is because I like THC... what about those who dont. What about a Phoenix tears preparation that can be used with no psychoactive effect but a full complement of cannabinoids. I find that an interesting proposition. You can also see that my hands are bandaged in one photo. I tore two fighting dobermans apart and my hands got in the middle (you shoulda seen them tho, they got off a lot worse LOL) but the block of rudi really helped the pain, changed it into something less aggressive.
hope that helped, you can see I really like the topic I guess
