G`day Kanga
Talkin cyclones I`ve got two words for ya Noo Sa ! I`m sure that will ring a bell with the old salty dogs like yourself .Too bad for goofy footers though as its a long ,long ride to the bay .
Well gotten busy the past couple of weeks and my nursery is starting to fill .Mostly bag seed I`ve collected myself and from friends and family ,some Sativas and more hybrid mongrels . Gonna get all Luther Burbank on em in a few weeks . Though I`ll be interested to see how they handle the deluge whe`ve have been enduring .[and its not even the "wet season yet !"] Also I am reveging 4 Thai style Sats that I grew as bonsais over the winter and a couple of Skunks that didn`t really get enough veg time in the winter .They should all end up being a lot bigger and yeild a lot better with the structure that they are now developing . I find that to revegg,I cut the buds back to the least mature nodes and feed a sea weed and nitrogen fert at low strength and sit back and watch the days get longer . As the new shoots emerge I wait till they are a little established then remove the majority of the over ripe calyxes as it seems they inhibit the new growth [ a build up of flowering hormones I suspect ] once the plant is at this stage with the old growth removed things start to flourish .As I said earlier I am hoping for some better yeilds this time round .
As well I have an Afg male in flower at the mo that I chucked some of his pollen on a Northern lights fem that is flowering at present and the last pistils of the Thai shrubs as they revegged .Seem to have suceeded in producing a couple of beans on both .They`ll go in the freezer with the rest of the motley crew I have in my collection .
But talk about bloody rain the sun has not really broken through to shine for consecutive days in months ! And I heard on the radio the other day horse racing was suspended in SA and Vic because of locust plauge .Like they say "If it don`t kill ya it only ...." Anyway I plan on gettin while the gettins good and turn some sods real soon .On high ground of course .
Thanks for sharin
