Dj's got a new blueberry out, i am not sure what the difference is.

But hybrids made with him and chimera in the joint cross stuff withe BB as the dad are some excellent crosses. The GF x BB looks amazing.

Reports on DJ's "True Blueberry" have been pretty bad.

GF x BB does sound intriguing. Even if it is not actually Sweet Tooth 1.1 different male(s)?

its seems the blueberry has change since 95, here a quote i found in a thread at icmag : Another thing is that the Blueberry has changed, he informed the class in Pasadena that the "original" Blueberry was culled in '85. Also when discussing the use of his blueberry male he said since 96' which leads me to believe it may have been reworked again around '95.

maybe try joey weed BB, a few are saying its a better version. on the hybrids, a lot of good hybrids are available like chimera seeds or legends seeds.

Joey may be a good source for the older Blueberry genetics, I don't think he tinkers with the lines, and he obtained his stuff back in the mid 90's

Also, to echo comments about current DP offering. There are LOTS of reports that their Blueberry line has become very hermie. Overpriced hermie seeds, no thanks

JKP, sorry to inform you that it is you that is wrong. I did create Swt 1.1 and Sweet Blue seeds that were initially sold under the SOL brand, but are now sold exclusively as GF X BB and Dolce Sativa respectively and no longer offered under the SOL label. Steve had zero, zip, zilch to do with the production of either of these lines.

that blueberry was derived from seedbank lines is a stretch for me. Blueberry for sure already existed as seedline in southern oregon in late eighties. I knew someone that lived on a commune north of eugene around 89/90 and they had been running big crops of "blueberry indica" for years outdoors. He told me that story years before dj's blueberry was even released by Sagarmatha (the first commercial release) he later confirmed the Sag version was very similar just less indica leaning. Big bud was not even released until late eighties.. seems more likely imo both lines share similar parents way back. According to DJ his lines were developed in southern oregon and Big Bud I am pretty sure was a cut from Portland, doesn't seem like a big stretch to me.. oregon does not have a huge population base.

Sweet Tooth (BC Grapefruit clone X Blueberry) was created by Breeder Steve.
Sweet Skunk (BC Grapefruit clone X Sensi Seed NL#5Haze) was created by Breeder Steve.
Sweet Blue is the Sweet Skunk clone selected by Steve crossed to DJ's Blueberry dad.

Since when crossing two plants bred and selected by others makes you a creator.

I was kinda wondering myself what Nevil line it could be connected to, and was coming up blank. There is no doubt that Nevil's work is in an awful lot of modern strains. I'm just not really seeing it in the Blueberry.

I have actually seen a rare pheno show up in the maple leaf lineage that looks spookily similar to blueberry both in structure and especially in the distinct "blueing" on the calyx tips more common with the older lines. For all I know it could have been a mix up at sensi but I would lean towards sharing common ancestors way back.

i always found it interesting that "Oregon Blue Indica" was listed back in one of the earlier dutch catalogues (either SSSC or Seed Bank don't remember). Made me wonder if there was not a far earlier introduction of blueberry to the dutch scene than thought??

Next generations early blueberry is an amazing strain smoking some right now as it happens i got a sativa pheno that took amazingly to suppercropping and an indica pheno that had hollow stems both produced high amounts of thc and finished in 55 days smells very similar to bubblegum. The indica pheno i had looked similar to true bluberry. Next Generation says that its a fast flowering bberry selected over several generations. Has any 1 grew this strain?

I've been growing DJ BB x SSH for a couple of years - finished about 1 week earlier than the SSH female. I find DJ Blueberry to be more earthy than sweet.

I also made seeds from NHS x DP BB, Devil x DJ Blueberry, G13/Sk x DP BB and DP BB x DJ BB. The NHS x BB was looking very promising, then the police came and took everything away

One of my favorite smokes ever was DP Blueberry from seeds bought in 1999...have grown out a few packs since and still looking for that pheno.

I reckon a small proportion of BB in the mix goes a long way.

and you do remember how the Sweet skunk came about don't ya?

Sweet Skunk was originally introduced by Spice of Life Seeds in 1994. The heritage was listed as Sensi Seed’s Big Skunk x Sweet Pink Grapefruit (a.k.a. Grapefruit) at the time, but Breeder Steve later speculated that the father was likely a NL x Haze male rather than a Big Skunk. This makes sense; the Southeast Asian “Hazey” bud structure is hard to ignore. Apparently, Steve had obtained two trays of clones for a grow, one labeled “Big Skunk” and the other “NL x Haze.” Upon planting and flowering the clones, one of the trays turned out to have a male that pollinated the crop, producing the seeds sold as Sweet Skunk. (Sometimes unplanned hybridization can yield outstanding individuals.) F1 seeds were planted, and an extreme sativa-leaning selection (SS #10) was chosen out of a roomful of indica-dominant girls. This clone is now known in BC as the original Sweet Skunk clone.

hardly a masterplan was it. BS it appears was good at marketing & bullshit IMO (also don't think it has any SPG in it so (Chim could clear that up)).
