I met Mr marks when he came to our piddly little town to do a talk... I gave him some nutty gear in his own words.......

blue lines..

well others have done it ( legends: johnny blaze ) and DJ's son is working on SSHxBB from what we know.

I asked nev his opinion on DJ, but never got a reply..

The Blue lines are hard to breed with as the Oregon Purple Thai genetic throwsback alot of mutants. ;) Brittle stems is another negative trait commonly passed on in blue seedlines:confused:

I consider my experience to be intermediate at best ... I've tasted quite a few different flavors in my day ...

I've never come across an impressive blueberry ... I know they're out there but i've never experienced one that made me say "WOW , this is a treat".

brittle stems? never seen or heard of this? care to explain more

hollow, yes. brittle, I have to say no.

his hollow stems come from michel starks saying that hollow stems plants might produce better plants, which DJ seems to think, hence hollow stemmed plants coming from DJ lines..

Hi all,
During the '90s here in the states Blueberry was a widely popular variety, in the last decade it has ceased to be a major player on the commercial market in my locality. The ultimate origins of the variety are a matter of debate, with many giving credit to DJ Short for introducing the line to Holland. I believe Nevil has mentioned previously he believes it ultimately has origins with one of his own lines, something which I would be inclined to believe based on his pioneering work at The Seed Bank and his ultimate influence on nearly all quality lines of cannabis in the modern pool.

The blueberry as I remember it was often times light green, with blue hues or tinges to the cannabis. There was no mistaking the natural blueberry flavor, which coupled with the density of the product and above average, but not amazingly potent effect the herb had made it a hot commidity! It would routinely fetch $50 - $60 an eighth and would cure nicely for an extended period of time (if it lasted that long).

Finding the ultimate origins of the blueberry as I know it has always been a fascinating question for me. DJ Short did not have his own seed bank for quite some time, it was only in recent years that his own lines of seed have became available to the public. What passes for blueberry today is not the blueberry as I remember it from a decade or longer ago. Those who were offering blueberry lines on a wide scale basis during this period include Sagarmatha Seeds, Dutch Passion, White Label and Nirvana seeds. If the story of DJ bringing the lines to Holland is true, which it may or may not be, whatever the case may be he has readily admitted others did the actual breeding work on the line other than himself before it hit the commercial market. I would be willing to give a few companies credit for having promoted their product to the main stream general public to a point where the variety may have saturated select locals across the globe. Most notably Nirvana seed company, as their price has always been an attractive offer for those interested in acquiring Dutch genetics and the fact I had the oppurtunity to sample their Blueberry product from seed many years ago now and found it nearly identical to what was available on the commercial market.

The entire cannabis community would benefit from the re-introduction of Blueberry in its true form in my opinion, there are a couple versions currently available from DJ Short and neither would get my vote of confidence in growing for three to four months with quite a bit of time, effort and energy invested in growing a line which from all indications is but a stand in for what by DJ Shorts own admission is not the exact one in which the legend was built off of in the '90s. Today quite a bit of DJ Shorts reputation is based off the word of his having created Blueberry and the hype in which the blueberry enjoyed so many years ago. How many consumers purchase his gear believing they are acquiring the original, legendary blueberry variety I ask myself only to be disappointed and curious what all the fuss is about? I have no problems with DJ Short (other than those previously expressed above and elsewhere on a related note) and in fact wish him the best in his business and personal life, however Im not so sure his business model is the most honest in the industry.

The real blueberry from the '90s was very nice smoke. Not the best by any means, but nice without question. Lets hope someone out there has preserved this line for a day yet to come, though I have heard a few rumors of who may or may not have the original line available still.

I have run Dutch Passion's Blueberry and it is as Jesse described. Light leaves with a blue tinge to the calyxs. Dense buds with sweet aroma. A quick finisher and a pleasant smoke. Unfortunately these DP fem beans have a tendency to herm.

Lifes Been Berry Good To Me

After Stepping Off A Plane In 97 And Realising The U.K Was Nothing Like British Columbia , I Spent £140 On Two Packs Of " White Widow " Seeds  From A Now Defunct Rip Off Merchant Called Bullnet Hemporium.
The Few That Germinated Were Absolute Crap.
So Began The Journey Through Berrysville , Planet Earth
First Up Was Utopiates " CindyBerry " C99 X Blueberry- Awesome
Second Up Was Da Uber Camels " MangoBerry " ( All Seeds Were Female Due To Hermaphrodite Pollination - Fantastic Results)
Before Joining " Club S.O.L " With Breeder Steve Then Lucidly Behind The Helm ( No Relation To Levon:D) I Did Also Grow BlackBerry ( Black Domina XBB )- Very Nice , But Smaller Yield.
Stepping Up A Knotch I Made Friends With A Texan Called Phyto Who Sent Me Upwards Of 300 Seeds For A Project I Was Trying To Establish Which Was Similar To The http://www.hempology101.org I Had Left When Coming To The U.K
This Was Around The Time Of The Dutch Experience Which Colin Davies Attempted To Get Off The Ground .
200 BlueTooth And 100 Bluetooth X Thai ( I Believe I Was The First To Spread These Seeds Around The U.K For FREE To Medigrowers Or Their Caretakers;) )
This Is How I Also Met Another Texan ( Now Living In The Same State As D.J Short ) Lonestar
Lonestar Had Made So Many Crosses It Was Unreal
The Best ( Probably Because It's Heritage Sounded So Rare; " X13 ( Ray Davies Clone ) X D.J Short Blueberry ) Was Superb
Unfortuneatly I Have No Images From My O.G Days , But I Continued With Others Like This " Texas Heather " BB Male x Soma Lavender Female Before Going Back To Camp S.O.L To Test Two New Strains That Were Released To Comemerorate The Tenth Anniversary Of The Release Of " Sweetooth" A D.J Short/Breeder Steve Amalgamation
Both Sweetooth 1.1 And Sweet Blue Met My Expectations of This Oaxican Legend.
Liking Fruity Herb , I Finally Had The Chance Of Growing Some Of Shanti's Super Silver Haze ( Late 2007) Having Already Enjoyed It's Grapefruity Taste And Searing High .
I Also Enjoyed Growing Mr Nice Shit Outside The Following Year.
I've Been Here Ever Since , Lol
The Only Strain I Really, Really Like Is Blue Cheese ( Tastewise ) .
Of Course I've Grown Much Stronger MNS Strains And Recently , After 27 Years Of Growing I Finally Tried The Ortega
It ( MNS Version ) Exceeded My Expectations , And I Am Particularly Impressed With It
I Must Say I Have Been Blessed With Colourful Hues Since First Getting Those Bogus White Widow Seeds From Bullnet ( Karma, Fer Sure ) And Believe My Giving Away Of Excess Seed To The Needy Pathed My Path To Sample All The Berry Good Strains I Was Gifted.
I'm Very Grateful For The Memories

sweet tooth 1.1 was made by chimera for s.o.l. Chimera sells them as gfxbb = the same seeds.

I'm Afraid You Are Wrong ; Chimera Had Nothing To Do With SWT1.1 Or SWB
Peace
