Hi and welcome to my patch for the 2010 season ..

Things have been on the go for a while now ,, i started planting early june ..
its a bit of a race here to beat the rainy season ,, so i start as early as i can .

Ill get a few pictures next week , but theres not really that much to impress as yet ,, september is when the heat really hits here and the growth begins to boom ..

Most of Australia will be in prep for their long season grow , but the folks in the know up north will be harvesting from september onwards , we are lucky to have a maximum day length of only 13 hours ,,
so unless its pure equatorial sativa ,, we will get most to flower and finish before xmas ..

I have a few varieties in this year , but im mainly concerntrating on moonunits strains and test seeds , most folks only grow a few plants to test a strain ,, youll see thats not the case here ,, i have 600 in already ,, and more to go yet ...

Ive timed things pretty well this year ,, and weather permitting i should be able to get a second crop in the bottom 2 patches before the rain hits me too hard ..

thanks for coming on board those that do ,, i guarentee this will be a grow like not too many you see ...

Heres a picture of one of the mother plants used to make the seed im trailing ..

Hey Donald , looking forward to see some of your plants ... hope they looks like you said it will.

CheerS

hey blizzout ,, thanks for joining in man ...
well i can only try my best to present as ive mentioned ,, but im pretty confident , but its never a certain when your dealing with mother nature ..

G'day Donald,

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for sure, 600 plants, now that's what I'm talking about, some real selection going on.
Hope you have a good season.
Peace, GG

i think the fog around me may be lifting? donald, you're the same guy that does all the work with c99? this is the seventh year in a row where i have had at least one c99 in my outdoor garden. but i recall a couple of recent posts elsewhere on your locale and you are just about kissing the equator. what are you doing with any hazes? i understand you and c99. this is one that we all covet and the right phenos can be pretty hazy whereas it is limited where one can grow true haze simply due to flowering time. keep up the good work. peace-biteme

Hi biteme , yes i played round with c99 a bit , its probably the 8th or 9th year ive had some in my garden ..
Yes im close to the equator , and hazes do grow very well round these parts ,, except ... unless we get a dry finish the harvest can be ruined ..
Im pretty sure i have some nevils haze around my seed tin ,, i was thinking of popping some in to see how they go later in the season ,, id really love to experience what others have with haze ,, i llike a good toke ...

Hey genegenie , thanks for dropping in here ..
I think i should end up with around 600 females ,, takes a lot of seeds to get there ... mostly im just checking out the progeny for any undesireable traits , best to grow as many as you can to see all there is too see ...

Here we go another good Aussie grow:D Cant wait for this one mate.....good luck with the weather and the grow.

Thanks kanga ,, exciting time of year hey ...
im pretty revved up watching you guys setting up aswell , loving the scenic shots from bushweed ..
weather is crap right now ,, pissing with rain , but good for planting ,
ended up sloshing around in the mud yesterday putting seedlings in ..

wound up with a leech in my eye , was hard to see with all the blood in there .
i had some peanuts with me and used the salt to rub in my eye and thankfully the leech hated it and stopped biting ...

lets hope this is the last of it till the storms ... lets hope they are late also ,, lol ..

Looking forward to this Donald. So we're gonna see some Zoidfuel and other moonunit strains? I love the genetic profile on the Zoid - PNGxOZ sativa x Chinese IndicaxOZ sativa. Sounds exotic as hell. Love to see those authentic Ozi sativas in your rich red soil. What else are you growing?

Lol.....Those leaches can get in places you dont expect:D Same as ticks.
Rain hey, thats a good thing. We havent had any for over a week now....hey send us some will you :D

omg! i am a seasoned guerilla grower and have dealt with many pests but never a leech in the eye. wtf? heard you tell of sloshing in water to plant seedlings and water is where we find leeches in midwest usa, but first i ever heard of them in connection with gardening? but then that close to the equator brings on a whole slew of new critters.

our spring planting sounded very similar to yours. extremely wet the entire season though finally started getting some dry days around mid august. two days after i planted one garden, this field got 5 1/4" of rain in less than 2 hours. when i returned to look only 3 out of 28 plant sets could be found and i looked. huge gulleys where rain washed them away to who knows where? global warming is the new bitch here. peace-biteme

btw, you didn't say. what are you setting out?

A leech in the eye you say, I;d find it hard not to freak out with that one.

You Aussie's outdoor growers gotta deal with alot of crazy shit down there.

I spent a bit of time in on the south coast, margaret riverish area and bumped into a few tiger snakes while clearing some spots, but up north seems worse for that stuff with the tropical climate, great growing though eh:)

Peace, GG

hey bushweed ,, yes i have heaps of zoid hybrids in aswell as some pure zoidfuel , a few c99 crosses and ducksfoot crosses .
Id like to put some more pure satives out a bit later in the year and hope for a good finish .
i love a bit of variety ,, couldnt smoke just one strain for too long ...

hey kanga ,, thank goodness the rain is almost gone , your welcome to the rest of it till january hehehe

hey biteme , yea ive heard a lot of guys getting leeches in the eyes , but its the first time ive experienced it , cant say i really enjoyed it ,, the salt wasnt very nice either ,, lol ..
darn im glad the rain wasnt as heavy for me as you , hope it turns out good for you mate ..

hey genegenie , yes i guess we have to take the good with the bad , ill try and get a shot of the big black snake that lives around the gardens ..

Snakes and spiders ...no worries, leeches and ticks.....!@#$%^ bastards.

hi bad lowerback ,, thanks man , yes they were very frosty , pretty looking herb for sure ...
certainly i can share some info on the strains ..
mostly they are from a friend in australia , moon unit , a good friend and he breeds some nice herb ..
his goal has been to keep that sativa high we like , that buzz , and also maintain a manageable plant that will grow in most environments , ie indoors and out ...
the pictured buds have a good dose of indica in the way of deep chunk in them, quite a heavy stoned and not so much along the lines of what the goal was ,, sativa highs ,, but nevertheless its something we are testing ...

ive grown his zoid line outdoors before and was very impressed with the grow and the resulting herb ,, very nice smiley high that still allowed me to work and operate ....it doesnt lay you out on the floor and that wasnt the goal , its a great buzz and very functional ... bit like the sativa highs we used to have ...
the png gold in the strain gave it a good resistance to mould , a beautiful minty/fruity smell , a bounding sativa high and a nice golden hue to the finished herb , all traits im happy with ...
ill t ry find some pics for you but i didnt take that many last season ...

heres a shot of the top feild ,, you cant really see it all , but can get the idea ..
still weeding and digging to do but its comeing alone up there ...
