Land Races Growing - A preservation work

I guess most of the members here really love the site and what it has become in its short life.., consider it home and want to keep it a great place , this is one of the very few un-moderated sites out there and basically its the members making it what it is.
A big thanks to Shanti for inviting us in his home , we are all doing our best to show our appreciation and respect , sometimes we may get a bit 'overjealous' but we are a big family and I hope we all can get along together , learn from each other and just have a good time..

I can see that some of you may not like seeing Luiz showing his strains here and I understand your concearns but as Luiz posted himself he doesnt have a site at the moment and so its nice to have him share info on his landrace/old school genetics here with us. I and many others seem to really like the info on the lanraces (there is so little info on them online).
If some of you don't like things I think best thing to do is contact Shanti let and him know of your views.

But that is not what I and others have noticed, "the self promotion" of bsc constantly in this thread in his posts.

its either a strain list and or bsc bsc?.

Self moderation?.

how would you like me to stand and sell my business to your customers? in your shop?.

And this is not the first forum he has done this on?, so he does know and understand ?.

This is not the first time he has been asked to stop promoting? bsc, eh Luis?.

Why would we go to Shanti about this, do you not think he gets enough pointless emails from members all the time?

This site is self moderating, although I don't consider what I said moderating, just giving my opinion, so there's no need to go to Shanti.
Both # and myself have made our points and you and others have made yours, we're all adults so is that not good enough?

You could flip your quote on yourself too L33T, it'd be just as relative.

Yes there is a site as Luiz said himself , its an old site but is still under construction and not finished/ready yet , according to him it will be done in a few days..
Regarding the marketing thing..in my opinion if Luiz wanted to come here to promote his strains he would come in and list here his ~20 different lines that he offers...but instead he focused/posted on old school landrace genetics...

Anyway everyone has his own views , if there are any concerns with members posts content and in this case where another breeder is posting here about his lines I personally think its better to discuss it with admini or better our host..we must not forget that we are still all guests here.

There are always ways to make a point in a friendly and polite way..
''#'' posted a negative comment where he accused Luiz of constantly advertising his web site n beans..
If you read the posts again from the start of the thread you will see Luiz only mentioned the existance of his new site after he was asked by a member here if he has one..and when asked by another member if he sells pure lines Luiz replied yes and mentioned the site will be up n running in a few days.
Therapy Man's comments on Luiz in post 32 show Luiz' attitude and intentions..

Maybe Shanti will not like the posts/'marketing' tacticts or whatever you like to call the posts from Luiz but you don't know that and we can't speak for him. For what we know Shanti has posted in the past that info on other strains (non mns) is also welcome here as one of the points of the forum is to learn from each other and exchange info on the plant. Eitherway point is, its not nice to make someone feel unwelcome here esp if a new member if there is no real serious reason. I believe we the members should focus more on plants , stay away from dramas and let Shanti decide if Luiz (who is another breeder) is marketing/promoting his lines here or not and whether he is welcome to post info on landrace or other strains he has works with..Negativity usually brings more bad than good and making your points in a friendly way certainly can bring better results..at least most of the times. I m just saying I believe its better if we are all more tolerant , relaxed and bring more possitive vibes that bad..
 
I run a business, and do support smaller, younger, up and coming businesses (with a differing USP to mine). As did larger business with me when starting out.
This is not your business hash, and if the owner of this business has a prob or feels threatened, I'm pretty sure he'll make his opinion felt, as would I.
If a Shop owner came into the shop you owned, and tried telling your customers to go to their shop, would you expect your customers to tell them to get out of your shop, or would you (the shop owner) expect to have to deal with it your self???

I'm not gonna get into a big drama over this L33T, as I've said in my post, I think he could talk about the landraces without promoting his company.

The first thing I thought when I saw his first post was that it looked like he worked for BSC, which he does.

If Shanti comes back and says that this guy is more than welcome to use the site like this then great, but it still won't change my view that the guy was being a bit cheeky using the MNS site like he did, not something I'd do and so I mentioned it, something I feel I'm entitiled to do as an MNS member.

I prefer to try and sort out stuff between ourselves rather than going to Admini and Shanti with stuff.

I never hear Shanti where he say "you are not welcome on MNS forum",
nor for this or that reason so if he jump into this thread I doubt it will be
negative response.

Well, promoting own company at some of another company is not serious
and in same time it says a lot of that company, but .... its not so welcome.
I didnt saw link to his web or posted link to his shop.

What is difference if someone come and start thread about ,lets say ,
Acapulco Gold.
So how we can find more info about Acapulco Gold if we all the time just complain cause its not Shanti's genetics.
L.F. didnt post link to shop or web but if you talk about another strain ,than MNS, its normal to say name of breeder or company....so what is difference between L.F. thread and some another non MNS thread ?

I do not believe to BSC is in class of MNS so there can not be serious damage to MNS company.
In same time I do not believe to MNS genetics is the best on the world.Yes ,MNS genetics is in many other crosses (at many breeders) or its MNS strain but feminized or just renamed.

Personally want to hear about plants from BSC especially cause its not MNS class and many of BSC strains isnt commercial cause 14+ weeks of flowering.
Only ppl who collect,breed or cause some another reason want to posses 14+ weeks flow strains will purchase or be interested in BSC lineage.

Any of you can check L33t's thread with great photos of La Nina or some another of Shanti's 12+ weeks strain and compare with pictures from this thread.

I come here to get away from all the drama on the other canna sites.I think accuseing him of trying to promote his seed company is way off base here.I thought we were an older group of growers here....peace
 
Many thanks for the warm welcoming here, I appreciate a lot all your sayings of encouragement. I will come back to post about land races here, I just want Shanti to know what is going here. I think for the least I´ve heard about Shanti that he won´t mind what I´m doing here but I don´t want to cause any trouble here. I like a lot this forum to turn it into a nightmare of stressful discussion like it was getting already. Here is a special place, with special members and Shanti is a special person to me and I have much respect for him and his wonderful work with cannabis all long these years.

Sorry if I wasn't as welcoming as some of the other MNS members and maybe my first post was a bit blunt, but it's only because Shanti has built up a great community here of sativa lovers who regularly spend big bucks on seeds, so when I saw another breeder posting about their sativa strains in such detail I became a bit suspicious, this is a seedy business after all.

If you weren't thinkin about seed sales when you started your thread, like alot of members here think, then I apologise, but it was just my opinion, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I didn't mean to offend you.

No worries my friend I understand completly your point of view and I thank you for being the eyes of Shanti to bad things happening here, yep there is a dishonest seed business IMHO nowadays with people taking advantage on good will people like Shanti. I am not against anyone here and I like the true talking there is here. I don´t wish to change anything here and I agree that my thread seems at the first time like an ad of BSC. Not my intention. My seed business is small and humble, more like a hippie seed bank with good hearted people participating at the forum that is going on at BSC web page (the new one not the old from 2003 which is the addy someone called # posted here).
Thanks a lot Gene for your apologies I apreciate a lot. Few people does like you did, many just throw me stones saying that I just want promotion where ever I go at the forums. If you take a look at BSC new web page I approved only two links there and one is MNS forum.

I know you are a proud man and should be with what you have achieved, it might be hard to believe but I am in support of your cause!.
The people you nearly done business with ?, be glad they are gone!. They would have left you with more than nothing!.

I am surprised that you haven't said fair dues I have DROPPED bsc a bit much?.
"maybe" you should just not mention bsc and strain list and or your website in every post after all its in your avatar etc?.

Maybe if you had PM'd Shanti first and said do you mind if I advertise on your forum and added it to your SIG for example?. Then this would not have arisen?.

this is the only forum i post on but read others, because i feel it is HOME as L33t kindly pointed out and yes "I as well as others" will speak up at times when things don't seem right!, as can any member.:cool:

My only gripe is the constant promotion of your company? its not even subtle, but don't make me out to be stopping you posting?.

As I have said before its very admirable what you do!. looked at my own business books today? for billy lol.

I spent £xx advertising last financial year and that does not including the printers bill for flyer's, brochures and biz cards etc. And just to start this year will be new website £xx?.

O I and quite a few years as a promoter!.

So I think I can see advertising when I see it!.

You certainly have one good eye for seeing an ad. I myself already said here that I though just the same as you. That´s why i´m waiting for Shanti as you said if I have done that before posting here all of this won´t never happened.

Think the ward preservation tends to really not sit well with me any more wen its used in the cannabis community when i hear it now i get a picture of money marketing and nothing relating to the genetics as it should be if in fact the old genetics are being offered in there pure form and by doing so its spreed far and wide well my hat if off to you.

Not going to name company's here but wen people offer pure panama it should be just that not a hybrid of 2 or 3 different panamas or even Thais guess my point is this preservation is just that keeping a strain in its pure state as such and money can still be made but when you offer something and use that ward yet are not really offering a line in its pure state then how is it preservation i think the only thing being preserved is a life style from the money coming in.

Any way welcome to mr nice hope you guys are real and offer real genetics if you are i wish you well in your ventures and look forwed to reading about the old school sativas.

she sent them as a gift for something,
none germinated to my dismay.

If you are selling Landrace...do not hybridize them just to make more seed.
if peeps wants the pure stuff and it proves the REAL DEAL then you should do well.
but unfortunately...TODAY,you will be damned hard to find a LandRace without a current war to avoid to get the seed...
also,any where the cartels or mafia have touched,you will find hybrids and very few if any pure genectics.
thats why the mexican weed that does cross sucks big time and has for a decade or more.
