The more Sam's "family"...defends his name...god why do I feel like I'm walking into a trap here?....The more he and his entire story and whatever real contributions he did make become smaller and smaller till no one cares anymore.

Personally I really want to know how they authenticate members on ICMAG. REAL breeders I can understand because they sell seed to Gypsy, but I'll give the legend of sam the skunkman the benefit of the doubt and say that the real sam is probably off doing cool interesting things...while an imposter sam goes online and runs his mouth because he has no life.

What Sam didn’t like was that Nevil later claimed to have purchased the strains from him, which he never did, and then went on to reproduce them and even sold them under the variety names that Sam had made up or used as if he (Nevil) was the one who had created or owned them.

If Nevil did not purchased the strains from Sam, then, in my thinking, no contract existed between Sam and Nevil since 'consideration' was not given. I know contract law gets quite murky when combining various countries and international jurisdictions. Some would say what Nevil did (his dealings with Sam) was completely legitimate. Sam made a fundamental error it seems in his 'deal'. Doesn't Sam have enough? Does he need it all?

An interesting study is the dispute Leibnitz had with Newton over the creation of calculus...many thought less of Sir Isaac because of his squabble over fame. I hope Sam can move ahead and spend his energies on something more constructive.

The fact that you randomly googled Sam's name and ended up at a thread in a small and obscure cannabis site like MNS, is beyond believable. In fact, I doubt that this had even come up on google to show a search result anyways.

Look folks, I am in Australia and totally uninvolved, other than being a customer of Nev way back in the 80's. That custom by the way saw me receive premium genetics faster than I get them in the mail today!

Someone told me to read an article by JessE about Sam so I googled Jesse Skunkman. MNS was one of the first hits. I had no idea what MNS was until I clicked on the site and saw that MNS stood for Mr. Nice. I DO know who Mr. Nice is. I started reading JessE's post but didn't get too far. It was obvious that his aim was to discredit Sam and I find it difficult to read such BS and to think that some people actually believe it. It makes my stomach turn. So, I decided to instead scroll down and saw that someone had posted some old articles and the Culitvator’s Choice price list which I found interesting. We have a collection of all the old seed catalogs from every old seed company. I like that someone else is a collector. When I noticed that another person questioned the authenticity of the catalog I wrote I decided to put my two cents in and joined up to respond and also to send a private greeting to Shanti.

I didn't realize what I was getting myself into. I responded to a few posts and then some people were asking me to prove myself and others were just plain harassing me. I almost considered submitting my handwriting but it just seemed like such a childish thing to do. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Sorry, I know that the person who asked for it was genuinely serious.

I eventually started to feel like I do when conversing with Christians. Some of you just don't want to hear any other version of events aside from what you believe to be the truth.

If anyone got anything out of any of the posts I wrote is that I have respect for the legend of sam the skunkman. I think its preposterous and offensive and particularly psychotic that anyone would go to such great lengths in impostering another person's FAMILY. IT IS WRONG.

There is someone that goes by the handle Ms. Baba @ icmag...(i hate icmag)...but it is a handle of affection NOT craziness. Thats a HUGE difference. There is also a person with the handle of Marlo ala' The Wire.....that is a fictitious t.v. show.....not the "spirit" of marlo coming to reality via internet cannabis forums. Is that not what Nevil did, and for huge profits at that? Only to sell the genetics to Dronkers for even bigger profits. He was not sharing these genetics for free, he had cornered the market in the cannabis seed market and made himself a millionaire in the process. We can be closed minded in believing one side of the story, or be open minded and look at both sides.

The bottom line is none of us will ever know the whole truth for there will always be Nevil's side and Sam's side of the story. Regardless of whether Sam created the strains, or worked with others to create the strains, he is the one that introduced these strains to the market in Holland. We do know this is a fact.

As for Sam trying to make himself look like a "big shot"; was it not Nevil who made himself a big shot? We can say it was High Times mag which made him look like a big shot, however, he had to give them permission to write these stories on him. Seems to me like Nevil truly enjoyed his time in the limelight.

I know I have been ripped off many times over the years for seeds, even more recently this past grow season, and some of these were strains associates and myself had been working on for years. So in all honesty I kind of feel where Sam is coming from. Although my strains never made the mainstream market, they were still used to grow very profitable crops and as trade for even more genetics.

Everyone is quick to point fingers and judge Sam, many of whom were not even growing or had any knowledge of the cannabis market and/or seed market in those days. As I have stated, I was growing some of those strains years before Nevil created the Seed Bank; they were readily available in certain West Coast grow circles in those days.

We need to look at the big picture here, 3 people know exactly what happened; add maybe 2 or 3 more which were on the outside of the original deal and know the story from one side or the other. None of us were there, many do not even remember the Seed Bank other than what we read, so who are any of us to judge Sam or Nevil.

As for this Sam's Wife thing; hey, if you are great, welcome to the forum. If you are an impostor, then I suggest some serious psychological help for you definitely seem to have issues in your life to want to impersonate another person.

The parties associated with those actions are in no way representative of the way this community generally acts towards others. It seems some of the newer members haven't quite gotten the generally accepted protocol yet.

If you are who you say you are, I hope you will not be a stranger to the canna-community. It would be pretty cool to hear stories from someone who was as close to the scene from as early on as you claim to be. If you are not who you claim to be, you have an odd way of occupying yourself.
