And the last shots I have on my hard drive, the purple mango haze shot on Nov 5, week 11.It was getting really cold outside by this point, but for whatever reason I was very happy to see the buds had purpled up a bit. Between helicopters flying, hunting season, nosey neighbors and having to build a greenhouse to house these girls it was alot of work, but well worth it in the end. The final product is outstanding, in fact the seeds from these girls are sprouted, Jack and the bean stalk vigorous and ready to hit the ground running.

I rarely read entire threads like this one (21 pages!), but I was mesmerized by the beauty of these plants...thank you so much for this contribution!
This goes down as one of the best journals I've had the privilege of reading and it makes me want to do an outdoor grow SO very bad.
MH is going to the top of my list as you have called it your #1 as has a user by the name of DankFrank over at the other big Cannabis site.
Here's wishing you many more happy grows!

(edit: I realized before posting how old the thread is, but I couldn't help it...it is just THAT GREAT!)

Hi all :)
Thank you 81renaissance, this thread will be one I come back too several times in the future I believe because I plan on growing Mango Haze for many years to come. Currently Ive got a single Mango Haze F1 out this season who has yet to sex; I expect it to show within the next couple weeks though. I had tried to germ a few more, but with no success. The funny thing about the plant I do have though is that itself took over a month to germinate, and only when I physically took the seed and squeezed it between my fingers in order to crack the shell did it actually pop.

As I mentioned above back in April, the plants pictured in this thread were all pollinated by a single Mango Haze male I found last season. He flowered very early, and his speed of maturation has been passed on too his offspring. One of my females this season has flowered a full 18 days faster than my fastest F1 female last season. Ive got a tough time recalling the last time I grew a female haze plant that flowered at the same time as my males; indeed this girl im quite proud of.

Im currently in the process of smoke testing two SSH x MH males this season, both of whom have flowered very early. Interestingly, both of them have a green apple smell to them. One however is much fruiter than the other, who has a peppery, musky green apple smell to him and who is also the resin king between the two. If you were to rub the stalks with your fingers and place them together, you would have difficulty pulling them apart. The sweetest smelling of the two was the earliest to sex, however Im leaning towards the other male simply because of how powerful his smoke is. Ive just finished a sample, and Ive got to tell you Im pretty well lit for just sampling some leaf from a male haze plant lol.

Ive also got a few MNS G13SK#1xSK#1 outside this season, with two females thus far. Theyve only just begun to flower, and have taken the longest to sex of any of my plants outside this season. One is an almost black green, with a very odd looking appearance to it overall. The other two are six and a half feet tall, very sativa like in appearance, and will need to be staked in order to keep them upright.

Below is my fastest SSH x MH female this season, who has flowered 18 days faster than any of my females did last year at this time.

Excellent thread indeed and full of lovely haze pics

Thanks a lot for sharing JessE! Its always good to see so great results with such sativas btw love that purple Mango :D As I m running NevillesHaze x Mango this year outdoors and flowering is about to start , I was checking on this thread last night to see when exactly your plants started flowering out at your latitude and when the different phenos were ready to harvest. Btw where about are you , ~40N or more south? I am near ~40N and hope the NHxMH are not much slower than the pure Mango, hope the Mango mother managed to keep the maturation time reasonable.
I really liked the Mango Haze she is a real queen thanks again for sharing your adventures with her , one of the best practical sativa hybrids with superfrosty haze flowers of the highest quality.

Thanks again for the show!
have fun

Hey l33t, :)
From memory alone I believe this upcoming week last year was the day I discovered my first haze females last season, but I believe the males had shown a couple weeks prior to that. I would suspect your NH x MH too take a little longer to sex than the Mango Haze by in large, but within the next few weeks Id wager your plants will show visible signs of flowering if they havent already. Ill be sure to keep up with your thread, as even mundane topics such as the beginning of flowering I find interesting concerning the haze varieties Ive yet to run. Ive got a MH F2 that is beastly that has yet to sex as well, very haze dominant plant in appearance. Should be interesting to see which one goes first, the MH F1 or F2. My SSH female last year was pretty quick in her own right, and grew very classy for a cannabis plant. I was impressed wtih the quality of smoke from her as well, the union with the fastest MH male last year really paid off in the offspring I believe.

Morning all,
Just digging through the vault, thought to share some more pictures from last season with everybody in anticipation for the upcoming harvest.

Hi all,
Below is the selected SSH x MH male this season I plan to use; he was smoke tested for three days straight against the other competitor this season. Both had a green apple smell to them, but this one selected had a very resiny stalk that made it difficult to pry your fingers apart after rubbing. Along with the resination of the stalk, the overall smell of the plant was that of a peppery green apple, maybe even a little musky/earthy as opposed too the plant that was ultimately given the axe. The one who didnt make the cut was a very sweet green apple aromatically in comparison to the one I kept, but when smoke tested wasnt nearly as overwhelming of a buzz as the more peppery green apple keeper.

The interesting thing about these SSH x MH this season is that I can see the SSH momma in virtually all of the specimens I have this season. I see similarities in the leaves, the color and appearance for example in nearly all of the plants. But none of them retained the SSH mothers squatness, instead they all more resemble the Mango Haze F1 females from last season. But in the process, by in large have retained a very impressive flowering time so far for me. With a majority showing sex (male and female) well before the parental generation did last season. In retrospect, I choose the fastest MH F1 male last season and pollinated him with both the SSH and MH F1 female(s). But as I mentioned previously, the SSH mom herself was a very squat and fast girl in her own right. So the fact these plants are so fast by in large for me this season is a very promising aspect of this grow.

Hi all, :)
Below is a shot I took earlier today I thought to share, MNS Mango Haze F1 on the far right.

Below is a gal I call Roseanne, this picture was actually taken on high ground. When I go down and stand beside her, I feel like a leprachaun in a jungle. Shes a SSH x MH variety, and while not my fastest SSH x MH, she aint too bad in her own right. The ultimate tell of the tape is how they smoke, but with the pedigree of these varietys Ive got a feeling they wont be slouches.

lovely shots n plants jesse

I cant wait to see how these end up for you , I m sure there will be some really special ones

thanks for the pics , really great job man keep it up

ps. so you 've got some in pots and some straight in the ground?if so how does growth compare?

Hi l33t,
Thanks for stopping in mate, Im curious if your haze plants have sexed yet? Ive actually planted straight into the ground and worked with planters in the same area for a number of years now. My particular part of the world is very mountainous terrain, so the soil (while good) is riddled with very large rocks which make it difficult to even get a shovel 6 inches into the ground. With that fact in mind Ive opted to use planters to put my girls in, and have been satisfied with the results Ive received thus far. Under ideal conditions however, (such as my vegetable garden ;) lol ) Im sure the plants would grow much better straight into the ground though. You know ive given great consideration to plowing the entire area up, one huge excavation if you will in an effort to remove as many rocks as possible. However thats a process I fear would take a great deal of time, and maybe even draw unwanted attention at that. Still, Im considering it lol.

Below is perhaps my fastest haze hybrid this season, a SSH x MH variety. This picture was taken with my arms fully extended vertically in the air, so shes hovering around 7 1/2 feet tall with the characteristic Haze gangster lean. So maybe even an 8 footer by now? Either way Im quite happy with her, this time last year my Mango Haze gals were just beginning to flower. So the fact this particular plant is so advanced at this point in the year makes me quite proud of her. Considering I live in a part of the world where a variety of cannabis of this nature is ill advised, Im somewhat pleased to see how fast these lines are going and the improvements over last years times.

Dont know yet will check on the NHxMH in a week or two and let you know how they go, think must be flowering now and with another 12 weeks or so I hope they will be done. We get over 300 days of sunshine here and the plant recieves many hours direct light daily so I believe it will mature fast and well if all go as planned .

hehe

I think for outdoors I like things to be really simple , in this years guerila i went to the NHxMH only 3 times so far since taken outdoors early July , so I basically let nature do its thing.. I will only go once or twice again so its just gonna be around 4-5 visits to the spot for the whole grow. I don't need to water as there is underground water and the plants drinks from there and for ferts it was just couple times in veg and once or twice in flowering.

btw your fast SSHxMH looks great ! really nice plant and sure real fast for a haze hybrid cant wait to see how it goes during the next stages of flowering

Hi everyone,
The girls are moving along just fine, the F1 MNS Mango Haze was recently transplanted a few days ago without issues. A couple of my best G13xsk's have shown signs of transplant shock, but these things have a way of working themselves out in a relatively short period of time. The SSH x MH plants are large, beautiful and have proven quite moderate feeders ultimately. Below are a few photos of the girls this season, a couple more months to go.

Another picture of one of my SSH x MH plants this season, shes a reasonably fast girl in her own right but Ive got another who is slightly ahead in the schedule. The mother of these girls was a fast, squat and elegant Super Silver Haze girl that really packed a punch come smoke time. The father was the fastest Mango Haze male I found last season, so they are basically the result of the faster phenotypes to show up amoungst each batch respectively.
