The Chai Shop.

3 is the magic number Ray 😁 here's hoping for 3 females bro.

Thankfully the heat in my location hasn't been too extreme, though I did switch to leds which has helped a lot with room temperatures.

I started 6 NL5xHz before setting off on a long overdue 2 week holiday. My grow partner has kept things ticking over nicely, I will get some pictures over the weekend and share the progress.

Enjoy the weekend guys and girls 😎

Love the new avatar @Ray!

Thanks Mu.
I'm playing about with things..

Good luck with your 5haze.

How did your issac turn out?

Crossing my fingers and toes for 3 haze dom phenos for you man 🤞

I'm also hoping to find a haze dom/longer flowering pheno with the NL5Hz though so far they look quite indica, hopefully things narrow out when in flower

Progress pics below, first is around 1 week old and second is around 5 weeks old.
Going to start feeding them and take a cutting from each, sex the cuttings/flower them out to see if anything is of interest and worth keeping.

5haze is half Northern lights so broad leaf individuals are to be expected imo..
I'll be sure to follow along if you're documenting their progress here? 5haze is most probably next up for me..

@theghost420
That issac looks great and most of all a manageable size?
Ive smoked hazeC from the dampkring, or at least i think i've smoked it lol
You never can tell in an unregulated commercial setting....
Never knowingly tried the ag13 or hazeA though, would be very interested in your findings..

Just a quick check in with the gang..

Skunk haze a-b-c
P1010018.JPG

Obviously i had hoped to also have SH-d & e to choose from, but we get what we get...
This is probably what modern seed companies would describe as "very select breeding" lol

SH-c is coming round..(little mutant one)

Soil is a rich blend of my own design so the light green is happily a trait of the line..
I've always associated light green with early skunk#1, apposed to the much later darker incarnations.. Probably way of the mark, this being 50% haze but hey, my snowball of bro science and info read out of context all bound together with a smattering of experience is all i have lol

Take care all.
Peace

Yeah going to document them in the 5Hz section. Will get a diary going there soon. Gave em their first feed today (better late than never 🤣, been busy catching up with work)

Lol I would say the C5 you got from The Dampkring was legit, I know a guy who knows a guy that supplements them from time to time and they have the real deal sourced from Nevil. The Dampkring also have Isaacs now and again, I sampled it there and really loved it, so had to buy the seeds!

The skunk haze trio are looking nice and healthy in your soil mix man, C is shaping up for sure. Will you clone them and sex the seed plants or keep the seed plants as mothers and sex the clones?

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what you find in the line..
Oh yes, I knew the dampkring was a good place to source old haze ;)

This Skunk haze grow is a test to see what's possible in such a confined space..
I'm very interested in finding effects on the other end of the spectrum, i have a number of plants which
possess tried and tested soothing "medical effects" but would like to hold/find a more uplifting centered effect individual or two..

For-sure i'll be flowering clones, my tiny space would quickly become a tangled jungle if not lol

Wishing you all the best with your 5hz run @theghost420

Morning all.. I've a female yay.
Skhz-b is a girl, although i've had individuals show female "pre-flowers" only to turn out to be male so...... We'll see.

Sadly SkHz-c was to gnarled and twisted so i binned it..
SkHz-a hasn't revealed it's gender yet, but both needed topping to promote lateral growth for cuttings..

Tiny veg area.(Still using t5)
P1010021.JPG

I've had a bit of a tidy up and sort out, simplifying things...

Left- Livers/blues(skunk)
Left back-Hiding at back is Psychosis(Skunk)
Center- Two skunk haze.
Right- Felix's Afghani.

The Felix's afghan mother didn't make it outside this season due to work/life commitments intervening but..
I have just put a couple of her clonal offspring out in the poly-tunnel for shits and giggles..

For the record i miss spoke in a earlier post Felixs afghan is meant to be a late 90's ak47 x nl or hindu kush not a chronic x as i mentioned earlier..

Anywho,
Take care out there and apologies for my irregular posting,
summer is a busy work time for me..

Peace

Thought as I'm waiting for Skhz cutting to root I'd show you the outdoor Felixs afghan..
She's at home outdoors as she is indoors..

A great sweet acetone funk..
Kinda fruity with "Pear drop" notes but chemically offensive, if you know what i mean..

P1010028.JPG

She's just about to start flowering end august/begin sept a little late for me but i'm told she does very well at lower latitudes
Excuse the mess, chickens got in the poly tunnel and smashed the place up...

I'd love to hit this girl with Early skunk or Ortega male/s same goes for my old school skunks ;)

peace

Those Felixs Afghans sound delicious my brother Ray! Wishing you good luck on your outdoor run with them. You have a nice selection of skunk varieties in your nursery.

Some of my first grows were ak47, kali mist and chronic in the early 2000s. Found some nice phenos.
The NL5s have all been cloned, all have rooted so now vegging for a couple of weeks before going to flower. The seed plants are showing great vigour in veg and nice structure.

I love reading/hearing about the history of older strains and varieties. I watched an interview with a guy that goes by the name white boy kev, talking about the famous East Coast strain called Cuban Black Haze which originated in Florida and made it's way to NYC, it's apparently from Nevils Nl5Hz line, makes me wish for a longer flowering pheno even more🤞Time will tell though regardless of flowering time I'm sure the females will be fire with such great genetics

Thanks @theghost420
I guess my tastes are somewhat outdated these days. lol
Mention skunk to a young'n these days and you get a blank stare...
Cough! did a i say skunk? meant to say strawberry apple skunk cake.....:ROFLMAO:

Skunks and northern lights were my entry to modern cannabis, so they tend to be my point of reference.

I've always rated Simon of serious seeds work, few have put the amount of work in he's done... I'll be running his serious 6 next season..
This Felix's afghan looks like AK, only the smoke gives away that it's a cross. At a guess i'd say with hindu kush cause it has a kushy earthiness that i never found in ak47..

Ive read about the black haze etc, how they are a5 or c5 dominant individuals.
Like most growers tales they boil down to The Seed Bank at some point, it's simply a numbers thing..

I wish you all the best with your grow my friend be sure to keep us posted on your findings.

Peace.

🤣 I'm of the same mindset as you man, these modern strains are so boring I don't see why so many bother with them. Nl, skunk and longer flowering hazes are all I want in my life 😋 I've managed to get my hands on some outback haze beans which I'm looking forward to trying in the near future.

I was talking with a not so close friend who grows all the new hyped strains and he only uses feminised and autos... Told me I'm wasting my time with vegging and sexing etc and nobody is really into haze these days... ignorance is bliss 🤣

Apologies for my late reply.
This is the original psychosis mother, so probably the mother they used to make their crosses.
I never grew any of the ugorg lines, but know they relied heavily on the three big ticket cuts, the cheese, livers/blues and psychosis..

If i were asked, which very few people do lol
all three are cheese crosses imo and simply represent good skunk coming out of Amsterdam at the time.(90's)

Psychosis.(skunk)

Looks familiar that Jack H does Ray. It's morpholgy and flavour changes a lot depending of how you drive it. Your cutting has a lot of deep lobes and the Silver haze expression. It doest't have the classic long middle finger and the leaf count of the Rachis and the genetics to make it have the dog teeth that I have become familiar with and looks like a different cutting to me. It's a wild one with much epigenetic expression in it's makeup. Smokes like a dream :)

Yes mate this was grown under leds..
The buds produced are more rounder. If left they do produce the trademark pointed tops like the three main cuts.
As for genetics it's a mystery, to me at least..

I just know an old skunk when i see one....

Hey, brothers in smoke 😁

At the end of November, I’m going to Amsterdam for the weekend with a friend. I’ve been there three times before, the last time seven years ago, but I feel like this is the first time I’m going with a clear purpose—to smoke different kinds of imported hash and try some sativa/Haze strains, basically stuff you can’t buy where I live, or at least stuff I can’t seem to get my hands on 😅
I’ve got my sights set on Bluebird, Tweede Kamer, and Katsu.
Can any of you recommend anything else? I’d really love to try some authentic oldschool flavours. 😊✌️
