I’d like some black tea and a bit of Nepalese charas; I’ll sit over there in the back with that group of friendly gentlemen
I have a topic I don’t want to start a new thread for—it seems like a good one for a growers’ chat
For the first time, I’ve had two sprouts grow from a single seed—by the way, this happened with three Devils seeds, and yesterday I found this oddity in an Early Haze as well—hey @shantibaba , what are you feeding those mother plants?
I’ve read that this twin is either a classic twin—meaning it resulted from crossing two varieties and its sex isn’t determined by anything—or the second possibility is that it’s (through some biochemical process) an exact copy of the mother of this hybrid.
I managed to separate and am successfully maintaining one of the Devil twins, which could theoretically be a pure Afghani used in the Devil cross.
This theory seems too amazing to be true.
That’s why I’m interested in your opinions and experiences with this strange botanical phenomenon, and what you think of the theory I found online?

Back then, this twin phenomenon was common with the Jack the Ripper strain. That's what the strain was known for. It only happened to me once with an MK-Ultra seed.

No, it’s more something that can happen from time to time, but definitely not every time. And I couldn’t honestly put an exact number on it — whether it’s 10, 20, or 30 percent.
What I can say is that throughout all three Bubble Gum seed lines, I’ve seen it show up occasionally. Whether it was the F1, the BX2, or the BX3 generation, every run had the odd plant that showed some intersex traits.
If I had to estimate, I’d say maybe up to around 20% at most. So if you pop ten seeds, perhaps one or two might have a chance of showing

So, after much deliberation and a touch of serendipity, I've decided to pop a few Skunk haze..
I've had this seed for quite some time(10-15 years) so they may not pop, but they've been in the fridge the whole time so i hold hope..
Why skunk haze?
I think it holds everything i like in a line, flavourful effect coupled with production all attained within a flowering time sometime this decade lol Besides, it is probably one of the most practical of the haze hybrids, for a small space, pheno depending..
Goals.
I'm looking for an uplifting smoke with a nice flavour. that's it lol

Well, after 72 hours we have life! Albeit initially pale & yellow..
i haven't given up on the last two seen just out of shot in this slightly unfocused picture..

Ok the plan is to document this grow not only here, but to create once completed a "stub" in the skunk haze section for those looking for info on the line.. This way all info is on the first post.

Cheeky skunk haze seedling..
In focus this time.
As already stated these are 10+ years old...
Not to mention that they were a "Spring cleaning" so were probably left over from a previous reneged auction from who knows when...
So far the remaining two have shown no sign of life.... I'll keep an eye on them as i've had seed pop up to a week later.

Well unsurprisingly considering the age of the seed I'm running into a few mutations.
Of the three old skunk haze that made it two are what I'd describe as blind...
Ive persevered with these type before, they rarely pull through, ill give them another week just in case they shoot.
Blind skunk haze.
The good news is i do have one skunk haze which is thankfully developing as it should...
Fingers crossed for a girl..
Normal skunk haze.
These unfortunately are the perils of germinating old seed at such low numbers..
Now, this poses a new question, which haze hybrid to try next?

Well, i'm happy to report that i have two skunk haze...

SH-a grew as expected from the beginning.
As a result it's clean and crisp in appearance.
Sh-a
SH-b looked to be blind but thankfully sprung into life given a little bit of tlc...
As you can see there is some gnarling of the initial growth which is probably due to the age of the seed..

Nevertheless I'm more then happy to have doubled my chance at receiving a female.
I hope all northern growers are faring well in the heat.

If it continues to grow in a normal fashion i'll pinch off one shoot to promote a regular plant structure... We'll see.
