The Great Cheese Deception

From my knowledge of the UK Cheese pheno, the first post has it pretty much correct, and this come from a source from another seed breeder which I will not mention b/c I'm not sure if it cool here.

I have had this debate w/ so called experienced growers, and many others on different forums about Cheese being nothing more than a Skunk #1 phenotype. Every Cheese Plant I have seen, and I will not mention the producer of the Cheese seeds, has not looked near as good as many of my Skunk strains. I think the Skunk #1 I purchased from the Seed Bank in 1988 is my favorite b/c it looks literally looks like cotton balls w/ leaf blades sticking out here & there. It is also one of the strongest smelling Skunk strains I have.

To me, UK Cheese is just a hype placed on a Skunk #1 pheno to create more seed sales by mythical claims. Honestly, When I grew a Cheese clone aquired from the UK, it had a moldy smell and kind of smelled like Parmesan Cheese which I hate, so it was defiantely not appealing to me.

I Also Found It To Be The Stinkiest Strain I've Grown

April 2007 ( From Clone Sourced Via Doc's Forums )
Grown For Nine Weeks
Is It Just Me , But Does All Good Herb Smoked Via A Volcano Taste Like Grapefruits
A Very Easy Grow , And A Hardy Strain
It's Name ( Possibly Originated As " The Big Cheese " , I'm Assuming )
I Believe Whoever Comes Up With A New Strain And Call's It " Gurkahs Gold " , Would Defineatly Get The Attention Of The DDP ( Dope Dragons Den )
Now , Anyone Up To Developing A Volcano Accessory That Makes Popcorn ( Volcano Induced Munchies )
I Figure Such A Device Would Be Very Conveniant
If There Are Any Dragons Reading , ROFL
Joe:)

P.S ; It Was Also The First 100% Organic Hydroponic Grow I Had Ever Done ( Bioponics Was Finally Mastered By A Fellow Called William Texier ) BioSevia , And Mineral Magix Are Products From General Hydroponics Europe http://www.eurohydro.com

just to add my 2 pence:
besides the established fact that different growers using the same genetics will produce different looking/smelling/tasting plants due to different environs, has no one thought to consider the humble camera? I know personally that the same camera and the same subject matter in the same light will produce at least two different pictures in the hands of two different photographers. Understanding lighting and angles in pix is critical to getting consistent, quality shots. So even if both growers of the same cut were in similar media and of similar skill in growing they could easily come up with vastly different pix due to skill, or lack thereof, in photography.:D

Marketing 101

Hi All...:D

Q: How do you get people to pay twice the asking price of Skunk #1?

A: Simple. Just change the name to The Cheese.

To me, this appears to be nothing more than a marketing strategy...

http://www.linkedin.com/answers/mar...DV/237501-10319772?browseCategory=MAR_ADP_ADV

I think the market's reaction speaks for itself. It's only Skunk #1, people. Nothing to get upset about. My interest, although limited, ended with this crap...

It amazes me how people flock to the newest, latest, greatest thing instead of doing their own research/homework. It is my firm belief that a superior plant could be bred using either Sensi's Skunk #1, TFD's The Pure, or MNS's Shit, or a recombination of all three. There's no need to argue over this "strain"...jay:)

Yeah ive read up on this for months now. That this "Cheese" come from a packed of SensiSkunkNo.1.

And that packet or that seed from that packet was special well not special but you know how humans give birth to babys and some babys have health issues or born deformed same applyed for this seed it was different from the rest.

It was grown by Exodus Crew then they must of noticed they had some thing else took a clone and pass it around when they did raves.

Supposedly thats how the story goes i cut it short abit but if you google "Exodus Cheese" you'll find loads of topics they vary ^^.

But has anyone smoked some SensiSkunkNo.1 then Cheese any difference in smoke?

i found afghan the closest taste to skunk no 1/cheese pheno. afghan special (kc brains) to be precise 1 pheno looked and tastest like uk cheese. cheese maybe doesnt grow like afghan but tastes like it in my opinion. i am a taster b4 the stone. i would think afghan is the mother of all indica breeding plants if u look at the genes of alot of strains u will find it somewhwere in the fam tree. afghan is a parent of skunk no 1 and critical mass is skunk no 1 x afghani. i have nvr tried c mass ne 1 had a cheesey pheno off c mass?. i would like to see critical mass x with uk cheese that would be interesting !!:D

Hey JessE,

i've read this whole thread and have come to the conclusion that i had the UK Cheese before i gave up on her due to hype and tolerance blah blah blah but what i don't understand is why you have a pic labelled 'Suspect UK Blue Cheese' on the 1st page, when this is a strain readily available in seed form from Big Buddah Seeds. This strain is a cross between UK Cheese & Blueberry bro.

This thread is wrong and so are you jesse

hey everyone

this thread is completly faulse, first of all that first pic you posted as the real exodus cheese is a mutated cheese cut that was grown outdoors by ukcheesehead he posted it on thcfarmer and second of all i know many of people with the REAL exodus cut and also have it myself, the cut actualy first came around in 1984-85 throught exodus crew based in luton, and i dont even know why your comparing it to big budhas shitty fake version he crossed it back with an afghan when he should of crossed it bk with a skunk#1 plant which was what the uk cheese cut come from in the first place as you all probley know alls big budha is trying to do is bring something LIKE the cheese into seed form for those who are unable to get the cut but this doesnt mean the original uk cheese cut is no longer out there are many of people with it here is an example this is jah-hoovers thread http://www.thcfarmer.com/forums/f62/original-exodus-cheese-gallery-1567/
notice how everyone on there has the same plant :D
stop thinking up conspiracie's jesse and search the truth :)(ive seen all those vid's on youtube mr birdplucker)

Hi Shiva420 ,

So ukcheesehead posted over thcfarm that he had taken that pic himself and it was a mutated cheese cut? could you please provide a link of that post as I couldnt find it ?

Btw what exactly was the mutation about, I can't see any signs of mutation at least from that one pic, only normal looking huge/fully swollen calyxes...

Cheesey didn't take that pic bro, that pic is well old been about way before Cheesey was on the scene.

Cheesey grows indoors under a 400w, has done since i met him on hg420 years ago.

had a good laugh when i read that as well shiva, ukcheesehead did not grow that plant, lol, as kushkrazy says, he grow's indoors, lol, and it was not even under a 400 to start with, it was an envirolight, with good results, but if you were to ask him shiva, he will tell you its not his pic and he did not grow it, maybe just a misunderstanding on your part, no worries, we all make mistakes bro. :)

Hey

Does anyone here have a real cheese cut?. But looking at that link Shiva420 posted jah hoover pictures looks nice the buds look like what poeple say the real cheese looks the cotton buds it has.

Though the leaves look nice deep green shinny effect like theres wax on them.

Cant say to much about the cheese because i have not got much experience with it, the only time ive had experience with it when a friend got some and wow does it stink, stunk hes whole house out the smell was quite funky when you smelt it.

When you smell it and its traveling up your nose you get a cheesey smell then musty smell then a earthy smell its werid but awrite whatever that was real cheese i dont know maybe fake.

Hi everyone,
I’m glad this thread is getting the attention that it deserves, without question there are many "different" Cheese varieties floating around out there. And each and every one of them is touted as being the original too, go figure right? We've seen this phenomenon over and over again on the boards, with every Jack, Sally and Joe claiming to have the next Holy Grail variety or the next big thing.

The original picture of Cheese posted in the beginning of this thread is the first and real cheese plant presented to the online community many years ago now. It’s the picture that started it all, only today we see an untold number of "authentic" Cheese varieties which look absolutely nothing like the original. In fact they rarely even look the same as the other guy claiming to have the original as well.

I’ve got no doubt many people own a clone called 'Cheese', but pictures are there for all to see and decide for themselves. I noticed this particular subject really getting out of hand, and considering I remember a time before 'Cheese' was ever mentioned on the cannabis boards as a strain of marijuana I thought to make sure any eye who crosses this thread leaves with the truth. There are many ordinary, down to earth, everyday people at MNS and there will continue to be others who find their way here in the future. These people will find a mountain of bullshit awaits them upon entry into any of the many online cannabis forums today, just like myself and many of you out there have found upon our introduction to the cannabis community. This thread, subject and others like it have been created with those individuals in mind.

ive tried uk cheese and it is lovely.to be honest the stone is not the best stone i`ve had. but a tastey bit of SKUNK.some afghans have a cheesy pheno. cheese is a pheno not a strain.alot of people keep quiet about growing so who knows what phenos of strains r in the uk.i`m surprised big bhudda functioned as a seed co b4 they got the uk cut lol.i think real landrace genetics that is crossed to make 1 gr8 strain should be more expensive than hacks.
