10 years old NL5xH seeds (2016)

Hi everyone! I was planting many strains when I was younger, I did many grows, indoors, outdoors, always learning new things and reading a lot.
Well I stopped growing many years ago, but this year I bought a full pack of Mars Hydro, 2 grow pro tents 120x60cm with good quality fc4000 evo led, everything is controlled via App. It’s awesome.

Long story short, I was going to buy some seeds and I suddenly remembered…. I had purchased many Mr nice auctions 10 years ago, I grew many, SSH, Critical Mass, Shark Shock, etc…. But! I kept some awesome seeds on the fridge since day one of purchase.
So I went to the fridge and BOOM! old school regular genetics from Mr Nice!
I have a NL5xH 19 seed pack
A 20 La Niña seed pack
And some Dreamtime

All auctions from 10 years ago! 2016
As I said they were put on a tupper with rice on the fridge since day one.

So I decided to grow the NL5xH, all 19 are now in jiffy’s.

Best of luck colgateras, those lights are supposed to be very good, a friend of mine runs the same and gets good results with it ! He hit 2gpw with some longer flowering haze types which is impressive to me (I'm oldskool/stuck in the past still running hps and if I get 1gpw I'm more than happy )
You will find some nice phenos in the Nl5Hz, I have a pack of them myself on the 'to do' list but like you I bought quite a few varieties from auction and I'm taking my sweet time to get through them

Well this is my current setup, still mounting things like drainage pump and drip irrigation, one tent is empty right now, the other one has 8 permanent marker auto xl from sweet seeds that where outdoors but as we have had some rain and cloudy weather I moved them inside for some days, the thing above the ballast is a tupper with all the Mr Nice NL5xH, I put them there so they are warm and wet.

The autos are going outdoors soon again

Many years ago I was also running hps with passive phantom digital ballasts, but later when led started, I built a custom led with cree xp cobs and bridgelux, If you can jump to led would be nice, nowadays they are so cheap, I remember the prices when it all started I even bought a 50w led light for 250€ back then before building my owns.

If you ever buy led make sure to buy the ones using Samsung LM301H Evo, Samsung is no longer building them, but they are the best ones today, Samsung retired from horticulture lights so until any other brand surpasses those diodes the Samsung evo ones are the ones to buy.
I was between spider farmer, mars hydro and ac infinity, spider farmer no longer mounts them on bar lights, ac infinity was expensive, so mars hydro with all their ecosystem was my choice, quality at a good price .also almost everything they sold me was built by LG and that is not a bad cheap brand, and the red diodes are by osram

Awesome! I'm glad you're enjoying growing again. Great setup you've got there. I really like the tent color. Of course, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you find a magnificent specimen. NL5xHaze from before 2016. Your plans sound good, @Colgateras. I'll be following your report with great interest. I was very skeptical about Mars Hydro Spyder Farmer and similar systems at first. If something's running for days in a rented apartment without you being there, I initially preferred LEDs and HPS lights from well-known companies. As you said, you can't go wrong with the EVO diodes. With the ChipOnBoard LEDs (Cree), I had the best gram-to-watt ratio up to that point. A Cree Opti bar with 130 watts cost €799 plus shipping back then. San Light is practically a bargain compared to what it cost back then!

I hope I can find a keeper from those NL5xH seeds, I’ve found 2013 photos from a grow I did, I’ll post them here so you can see those beasts, I can’t remember the strain but I think it was skunk1 from sensi or critical+ from dinafem or shark shock or something like that.

Das ist mein aktueller Aufbau, ich bin noch dabei, Dinge wie die Drainagepumpe und die Tropfbewässerung zu montieren. Ein Zelt ist momentan leer, im anderen stehen 8 Permanent Marker Auto XL von Sweet Seeds, die draußen standen, aber da es in letzter Zeit geregnet und bewölkt war, habe ich sie für ein paar Tage ins Haus geholt. Das Ding über dem Ballast ist eine Tupperdose mit all den Mr. Nice NL5xH. Ich habe sie dort hingestellt, damit sie warm und feucht sind.

Die Autos werden bald wieder draußen unterwegs sein.

Thanks for the tip on the LEDs, I'm patiently waiting on some testers from Shanti/Musashi and have a new propogation tent I'm gonna use to get them going when they arrive, (my normal veg room is overloaded) thinking of buying a small 150w full spectrum Led to kick things off, veg them up and get some clones for sexing/flowering.

That irrigation and drainage system looks fantastic and well priced too! What medium are you gonna use in your new setup?
Just a tip for your feed storage bucket if you're not able to tend to it/top it up every day, it's a good idea to drop in a small secondary pump to keep the water/nutrient feed oxygenated and well mixed. I ran a similar DIY setup a few years back and just set the secondary pump on a digi timer to come on for 1 minute every hour and then 5 minutes before the feed timer turned on.

Will you use one tent for flowering and the other for veg or do you like to run the seeds without keeping mothers/cuttings?

As I’m starting right now it’s just a bit chaotic, but as soon as I have all females and mothers selected it should be more organized, I received the dehumidifier, it’s awesome, digital buttons and it connects with the Icontrol and I can control that from the app too setting up parameters and working autonomously keeping the humidity at the stablished parameters.

These days I was thinking a lot, I will have some logistic problems with my current setup because I didn’t plan to have a permanent veg area (mothers and clones) but as I’ve found the Mr Nice seeds everything changed, so I think I will have to buy a third tent 60x60 to keep the mother and clones vegging, that way I can free the other 120x60 tent to produce. Because a mother and clones on a veg area with scrog don’t combine well and will cause me headaches.

So I’m going to purchase a Fc1500 evo from Mars Hydro and a 60x60 tent, but things are going to be expensive as I will need now another dehumidifier for the 120x60 that didn’t have one.

My 2x120x60 are much more expensive than a single 120x120 but I wanted that form so everything is reachable and easy to manage doing scrog, also the room is not big and adapts better to the room shape.

So the Fc1500 evo has the Samsung chips and it’s 150w as the light you need, take a look.

The irrigation system has a pump, it waters using a pump inside, it’s not by gravity, and I use the canna Terra nutrients that mix very very well in water irrigation systems, they don’t obstruct tubes as other organic nutrients as they are not dense, they are built for that purpose (stable mixing in time on water tanks).

With the irrigation and drainage systems I can also grow with coco, but I’m going soil this time, maybe in the future I try coco, also maybe RDWC I also have some experience with Deep Water Culture, but maybe in the future, Soil by now is the way to go.

Da ich gerade erst anfange, ist es noch etwas chaotisch, aber sobald ich alle weiblichen Tiere und Mütter ausgewählt habe, sollte es organisierter sein. Ich habe den Luftentfeuchter erhalten, er ist fantastisch, mit digitalen Tasten, und er verbindet sich mit dem iControl-System, sodass ich ihn auch über die App steuern kann, Parameter einstellen und er arbeitet autonom und hält die Luftfeuchtigkeit auf den festgelegten Werten.

Ich habe in letzter Zeit viel nachgedacht. Mein aktuelles Setup wird logistische Probleme bereiten, da ich ursprünglich keinen permanenten Bereich für die Wachstumsphase (Mutterpflanzen und Stecklinge) eingeplant hatte. Seit ich die Mr. Nice Seeds entdeckt habe, hat sich aber alles geändert. Ich denke, ich werde mir ein drittes Zelt (60x60 cm) zulegen müssen, um die Mutterpflanzen und Stecklinge dort in der Wachstumsphase zu halten. So kann ich das andere Zelt (120x60 cm) für die Produktion nutzen. Denn Mutterpflanzen und Stecklinge in einem Wachstumsbereich mit ScroG vertragen sich nicht gut und würden mir nur Kopfzerbrechen bereiten.

Ich werde mir also einen FC1500 Evo von Mars Hydro und ein 60x60-Zelt kaufen, aber das wird teuer, da ich jetzt einen weiteren Luftentfeuchter für das 120x60-Zelt brauche, das keinen hatte.

Meine 2x120x60 sind zwar deutlich teurer als eine einzelne 120x120, aber ich wollte diese Form, damit alles gut erreichbar und einfach zu handhaben ist, insbesondere beim ScroG-Aufbau. Außerdem ist der Raum nicht groß und die Konstruktion passt sich besser der Raumform an.

Die FC1500 Evo hat also die Samsung-Chips und 150 Watt, genau die Lichtleistung, die Sie brauchen. Schauen Sie mal rein.

Das Bewässerungssystem verfügt über eine Pumpe, die die Bewässerung mit einer internen Pumpe durchführt, nicht durch Schwerkraft. Ich verwende die Canna Terra Nährstoffe, die sich in Wasserbewässerungssystemen sehr gut mischen lassen. Sie verstopfen die Schläuche nicht wie andere organische Nährstoffe, da sie nicht so dicht sind. Sie sind genau für diesen Zweck entwickelt worden (stabile Mischung im Laufe der Zeit in Wassertanks).

Mit den Bewässerungs- und Entwässerungssystemen kann ich auch mit Kokos anbauen, aber dieses Mal entscheide ich mich für Erde. Vielleicht probiere ich in Zukunft mal Kokos aus, vielleicht auch RDWC. Ich habe auch schon Erfahrung mit Tiefwasserkultur, aber vielleicht ist Erde im Moment die beste Wahl.

T In my opinion, you don't need to spend that much money on mother plants. For example, I have a box measuring 40×40×120The price was 35 euros. Also included was a cheap 50-watt dimmable LED bulb, priced at 25 euros. The LED bulb measures 35 x 35 cm.I have between 4 and 10 mother plants in 0.3 liter pots without a fan or any other fancy gadgets.

Update:

This is how things are today, the small ones are the Mr Nice NL5xH the big ones are Sweet Seeds Permanent Marker XL auto, I just made a Novice! Error, one of the NL5xH was struggling with removing the seed and I tried removing it with my hands, I damaged the plant as a result, and I don’t think is going to survive after that

The last 19th seed was not poping, I removed from the jiffy a day ago or so, pressed the seed a little with care to try to crack it just a little, then I did put on the jiffy again, today I saw it’s starting to pop from the seed…. Let’s see what happens with that one…. So 100% germ rate.

But I feel so bad for the damage I did to the other plant today, I think I lost that one for what I did… damn!

Take a look, I damaged the cotyledons, maybe the damage did not affect the important part of the plant but that’s a big trauma for such a little plant…. Let’s see
