Yeah it's getting good March should be even better, hope the weather stays nice. šŸ˜„ can't go giving the spot away think west coast central North island
Yes March, April best time for in close snapper. I did wonder, didn’t think as far south as the naki, I’ve always wanted to have a crack down Mokau way I love that place. Been some big snapper come in along that coast! I was in Raglan the other week but it was way to rough to go out!
Depends what type snapper. Most Northern Red Snapper are found in the Gulf of Mexico. It sure ain't New York, though they come this far north in August. You got snapper in NZ, @Fish? With 113 species, I suspect they are everywhere? Sounds like a nice dinner, @eazynz! :)

Our snapper are more of a bream type fish. They are the most common for northern North Island. They can grow over 30lbs, at 20lbs is classed as a trophy. Australia, Norfolk Is and New Caledonia have them or a sub species at least. South of their habitat blue cod take over in the colder water as the most common fish.

Blue cod in my opinion is a better eating fish though smaller (up to 10lbs) and not as exciting to catch or spear.

Ya beat me! Mine is 18.5 lbs from Whitianga way.
Great coastline the west coast no where near as hammered as the east coast!

18-20 pounds? That's some right big fish y'all catchin'. Bless Ya! I bought a $300 USD fishing rod once. Broke it the first day! Never did that again. That was some damn fine White Widow though. Me and my friends broke 3 fishing poles that week!

They are a great fight when they are big, they have a tell tail head and tail shake, you know when you have a good one straight away.
A friend bought a nice fancy rod for quite a few hundred dollars, I took him fishing for a weekend and after the first trip out he put the rod and reel in the back of the Ute, closed the tail gate and snapped off the top 6 inches off his rod, he wasn’t happy but f**k I laughed.
Gotta have the weed for fishing! We call it the ā€˜lure’ when out, ya never catch as much without weed.

1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee at Lebanon Valley Dragway, West Lebanon New York.

Dodge 6 Pack 71798382474348_n.jpg

Mid-way through 1969, Chrysler launched a six-barreled salvo on the muscle car world with the A12 option package on the Dodge Super Bee and Plymouth Road Runner. Underneath a big-scooped, blacked-out, lightweight hood secured by four racing-style pins (no hinges, please) sat the 440 Six Pack--an engine that promised more real-world performance than the mighty and already legendary Hemi.

Featuring an aluminum Edelbrock manifold topped by a trio of Holley 2300 series carburetors, the Six Pack ran on only the center 350 cfm Holley during everyday, but mash the throttle down and the pair of 500 cfm Holleys at the front and back kicked into action and all of that proverbial hell broke loose. The idea behind the engine program was to create an engine significantly less expensive and more streetable than the Hemi, but with nearly the same performance.

The Six Pack package included more than just a unique intake and carburetor setup. Beefier connecting rods (and an appropriately weighted harmonic balancer), moly-filled top rings, a revised, low-taper camshaft, flat-face hydraulic tappets, chrome intake and exhaust valve stems with valve springs lifted from the Hemi and a bump in compression from 10.1:1 to 10.5:1 all helped boost the output of the 440 to 390hp and torque from 480-lb.ft. to 490-lb.ft, a number identical to that of the Hemi, but delivered a full 800 RPM sooner in the rev range. All A12s were also equipped with a 4.10:1 rear axle, along with a dual-breaker distributor, heavy-duty radiator, heavy-duty 11-inch drum brakes and "extra-fat" Goodyear 15-inch Polyglas red stripe tires.

Being alive in America in the '60's was such a great time. So many new, fun things coming down the pike. Marijuana, music, LSD, muscle cars, Free Love, Make Love Not War, women throwing away their bras! Such a great time to be alive, and so much fun! 🄰

Nowadays, everyone's all 'woke' and don't want you to have any fun as you may hurt someone's feelings for doing so. They're always yelling at me; "Longball, you are going to Hell in a hand basket!" I suppose they are right but at least I am enjoying the ride! If I am going to Hell for one sin, I might as well go for a million sins! A lot more fun!

Stay young and have fun folks!

A lot more fun it was! Don't need no stinkin turbos to spin up! Don't need no stinking lightweights either. Of course gas was 25 cents/gal. when we was running Telegraph road in Detroit '69 in 442's, 440 Chargers and 454 Chevelle Malibus. We all accepted each other and minded our own business. Didn't matter your color, your political/religious affiliation or sexual persuasion. Didn't matter. We all sat in the circle and passed it to the right or left. Didn't matter. We were invincible. Nowadays, all about money, posing, virtue signalling. Phonies and powertrippers much more. But I digress. K, back to my happy place. šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

A friend tried to trade me one for my Kawi 1000 years ago. I took it out for a 100 mi ride. When I got back, the air filter cover had vibrated loose as well as a bolt on the handlebars. My hands were numb too! NO DEAL!

I liked the early 2000’s Dyna wide glide they handled really well for a Harley. The last bike I had was a triumph speed master I loved that bike wasn’t as fast as the name implied but just nice to cruise on I felt very comfortable on her. Never leaked a drop of oil though so couldn’t have been a true triumph haha.

Their larger displacement bikes were better for sure. The Triumphs were so classy! Why even Bobby Dylan rode one until he didn't :( My early years were spent on British bikes- when they were running lol. Lucas electronics! I had a BSA, my friend had a Norton and my dad had a Matchless. Then I discovered Japanese inline 4's! My current ride, a 1200GT tho she is up for sale now.
