Au contraire, mon frere. If you have not seen the unpleasant nature of "old farts" on this forum, then you have not been paying attention or you have not been here long. Nevil is at the very top of that list, as unpleasant and paranoid as they come. Rest assured California "weed" works just fine. Any vibe you feel from me is only an echo created by the great Nevil himself. For, you see, I am his creation. My frankness is an extension of who he was when he came to this forum. Not very pleasant is it? Not my design, but his. I go where I please now. This forum wishes to twist what happened long ago. I will remind you all any chance I get. This is not a joke but it is funny that it bothers so many. People still want to pretend Nevil came here for us, to share his knowledge of the sacred plant, but that is far from the truth. Anyone here want "weed" that makes you "paranoid" and is "unpleasant" in any way? Imagine SB putting that in the strain description!

The scariest weed I ever smoked is some super potent sativa skunk #1, tbh. It was cut a little early and looked so resinous it was like GWS but I was assured it was pure skunk no1. Find skunks in general have the most 'unpleasant' effects (white outs/dizziness, paranoia, confusion, sluggishness, cotton mouth, munchies, red eye etc)....
Dunno what the problem is with Haze, its euphoric! Don't we smoke to get high!?

everyone wants different effects.
I myself prefer sativa's. But for daily smoking I'd rather have milder slightly uppy sativa then holy shit who dosed this joint the walls melting sativas.
Those are great too, but in the same regards as solid Indica's that knock me out they are a little too much for daily use if you intend to be functional.
I find some durban and kali mist to be really uppy herb. I've also found that the durban concentrates are out of this world if your looking for that type of effect, but use with caution at night time because at 3am you will still be wide awake.

those last 10-20 posts summed it up, what my grail - type - high would be, maybe even its also nevils goal that same
im not that anti stirring up shit always, its just that expirience in the last 15-20 years showed me that those highs arent available anymore, thats why im so sceptical but deep inside i wish so hard that kind of high, that i got always dissapointed, dont worry ill stay sceptical until i smoke a sample that will change my mind lol

First time I smoked bubble I was too high to talk for over an hour 
Had some FULL ON panic attacks last weekend, lol. I was smokin like a chimney, and it made no difference I suspect I'll have another 3-4 day fight with panic attacks in oh... ~65 more days

Let me clarify a little .
As always set and setting are in play .
The circumstances of me feeling uncomfortable were ; Long way from home , in unknown districts , driving a hire car whilst higher than I had been in a very long time .Carrying a sack of very fragrant sensimilla and some very potent bubble hash in said hire car .
Kinda out of my comfort zone ....
So before you all start on with the reflection of character theories . Keep in mind set and setting . This is prob my all time fav thread on weed growing. I'm 50 plus and been trying to preserve Haze lines, increase potency in Haze etc... on my own for more years than I can remember.
Busted five times and lost all my genetics five times (as in ALL seed taken by cops). Recently lost everything again (10,000 plus sativa/haze seeds as recorded by the court) in another bust and can't be bothered tracking down all those rare genetics from all over the world anymore. Too old and tired.
I haven't tried Nev Haze though it will probably be my next grow. I was around when Nev made it and didn't want to grow somebody else's creation when all the building blocks were still around. Unfortunately all the building block Haze lines seem dead and buried and only Nev Haze remains.
So putting NH aside... the best weed I've ever smoked bar none was Mr Asia Thai Sticks and best plants I've ever seen were Queensland Thai from same period. In thirty-five years I've never seen anything else like those Queensland plants and I've grown a lot of landrace sativas that hit twenty feet high plus. Back then some nutter in Queensland was growing ACRES of these Thai trees until he got busted.
Those Queensland plants were what turned me on to sativas but I've never seen that strain again. Biggest leaves, fastest growth... just absolutely insane. Biggest seeds I've ever seen by miles. In my ignorance I thought all sativas were like that but never seen one again.
I started chasing Haze plants to look for the Thai strains (either Mr Asia Thai or Queensland Thai) but instead of finding giant trees I kept finding these horrible spindly plants that the Dutch were calling haze plants. WTF!!!!
Over the years I've become more and more disillusioned with the weed scene worldwide. Mexico used to grow square miles of sativa trees. I've seen photos of a 25ft pure Mexican sativa that yielded 15 pound of bud. That isn't unique okay. Mexican pot was all huge trees once and so was Colombian... but Thai was even bigger and more potent.
Where have all these strains gone? I haven't smoked a real trippy sativa for years... at least not what i call trippy. I haven't seen a real Thai tree for twenty years. I've seen huge Thai bushes and I've grown sativas that stretched over twenty feet but they weren't the trees I was looking for. The structure was all wrong.
So I'm sick of trying to recreate from scratch with continual back crossing and working with huge plant numbers (try explaining breeding algorithms to the police) that put me in prison. Prison sucks.
I'm just going to cheat and grow some Neville's haze outdoors and cross it with the few pure sativas I have left (seeds rescued off the floor that had rolled under the fridge) after my last bust.
I agree with Neville... the holy Grail is out there somewhere still and I think it's a huge Thai.... which is what I've always thought.
For the record... the GIANT queensland Thais I saw (and grew a couple myself) looked nothing like any of the Thais I've seen. They looked more like some nepalese or Himalayan plants in structure but even bigger and faster with massive drooping lime green leaves with very pronounced serrations and they quickly develop a trunk rather than a stem and have a very "open" and loose structure compared to the bushy Thais I've seen.

Hi mate, this is a pick of a cut of a so called Thai stick from gypsy nirvana - said to be reminiscent of the old stuff. But as you can see nothing like the Nepalese sativa structure...
The largest plants on the net are kangativa's genetics, sensients old mother sativa, and some of Sam Skunks Thai hz x sk. Best of luck in your search mate, it's one that we are all undertaking

Bloody Aussies... always have to go one better than us Kiwis. First time in my life I've ever said this but those plants (kangativa) are bigger than anything I've ever grown. My best is only 5 pound dried and manicured bud from a single plant.
MM and Old Mother not the genetics I've been seeking but some of the best sativas I've seen in a long time. Very impressed and I don't impress easily. Reminds me of Zamal a little bit.
Bugger can't let the Aussies beat us Kiwis. Now I'll have to pull my finger out and go all guerilla again. Sigh. I'm getting too old for this.

theres quite a few of us trying out thai stock ,
a few different sources ,
you could look into papua new guinea sativa also scrubdog ,
reputed to be mostly thai origin ,
and huge sticky sativas like the old types you mention ...
on the thai im trying currently ,
with other plants already well into flower ,,
the thai managed some veg growth ,
alternating branches , and would be at least triple the size of the hybrids i have,
its just showing sex now ..
im really enjoying the old style hanging/drooping sativa plants , its been a while since ive grown them ..

Haven't been able to get PNG or Indonesian. Very strong killer weed that I haven't tasted for years. I know the plants well. Haven't seen seeds available anywhere for those strains for 20 years which is kind of strange because boat loads of weed have come out of those islands for years and been distributed all over the top of Aussie.
I was told by somebody who should know that a syndicate in the late seventies took Thai seed to that area and contracted villagers to grow plantations to save on taking a certain fishing boat all the way to Thailand all the time.
People talk a lot about Thai Stick but few realise it was never one strain. The older Thai Sticks that came over first were almost black and musty smelling but as time went on they got greener until it was obvious they were fresh wrapped sticks. Potency went way down over the years but even the fresh stuff was still strong... even by today's standards.
I grew a lot of seed from sticks... as did others I know... and it was extremely variable with a lot of different phenotypes. It was the early stuff that knocked your head off. Most smokers say it was laced with opium.
Then again at the same time we got Sumatran Tripping Weed which wasn't laced but still blew your head off. Hard to describe the effect of those old strains but they made you very, very high. Not stoned... trippy high. You wanted to do stuff because everything you did was somehow "altered". Driving a car was like an expedition to Mars.
Oldtimers will know what I'm talking about.
