Jason seems to be full of pot snobbery [ Im still waiting for CannaDianetics to come out.

] I used to hang at the CC forums when it was good and the thing that surprized me the most was that 90% of the Canadians there had never smoked mexican brickweed schwag, they had no concept of what really bad weed was.
Growing pot is like riding a bike and the reason you dont see training wheels on the Tour de France. The only bad weed now I see is peoples 'training wheels' stuff, and theres no market for that unless its bone dry around town. Everything else is usually top notch.
As living proof of all the weed forums out there good pot is a cat that can be skinned many ways. It grows in a 100 different mediums with a 1000 different fertilizers and still does great when its dialed in. To claim that one way is the best is silly to say the least.
.. Bottom line is this. Plants, like humans, do not want to be fed (or treated with) chemicals. And just like a human can live (for a while) on fast food, cigarettes, and beer, they will not be thriving. It’s the same with a plant. Though chemically fed hydroponic plants might look healthy on the outside for a while, they are not thriving on the inside. All the chemicals only serve to weaken the defenses of the plant, just like they do in a human.
Nature’s way of dealing with these weakened plants is to send bugs, viruses, molds, and other pathogen to eliminate the weak specimens. (Survival of the fittest, remember?) Again, this is the same way it works with humans..
While it would be nice to think that humans and plants work on the same level we dont. We consume living matter and work to decay it, plants take decaying matter and convert it to living. Unless Jason has access to secret research reports showing the weakening harm chem ferts do to plants over organic ferts and how it somehow makes them more apt to get pests I'll have to put that into the opinion file rather than the facts file.
.. In order for ganja to reach its ultimate potential quality, the plants must be cut off from food and thoroughly flushed with clean water for several weeks or more before harvest. ... The amount of flush time varies depending on the situation, but I generally recommend stopping all feeding and switching to pure water approximately one month before harvest..
Im not sure what strains (if) Jason grows but in my experience that last month is when a lot of weight gain occurs, especially the first two weeks of that. Removing ferts a month out from harvest for me is only going to kill my yields. I can cut off ferts anywhere from 5-10 days and when they are done I can see the plant is pulling what nutes are left out of the fan leaves.
I'll give him the point on curing since most people have experienced that. Most strains are better but some strains dont do much when cured. Unfortuantely I only get to cure about 10% of what gets made.
I dont buy into the whole weed potency is delicate and a reflection of how you handle it. " Rolling a joint decimates the herb if you break it up with your fingers " ?? I dont know anyone thats said that or anyone thats notice any difference in how high you get based on how you handle the weed post curing.
Speaking for myself I think anyone thats growing for themselves tries to make it the best smoking pot they can. Its the ones that are growing for profit that I can see wanting to use methods that give them the most weight for the number of plants in the quickest time. Organics and yield reducing lengthy flushes probably isnt going to sway them.
