Swazi Safari from flying dutch man any info, grow experiances, smoke report's with this strain?

i was wanting to try out some african genetic's and wanted to know if this was a good strain to start with unless you guys know of any other strain's to suggest ??

im looking for that distinct cerebral high you get from african/equitorial sativa's

thanks

this isn't much of a contribution, I suppose, because I havent grown it yet....

but I got ahold of some of Afropips Malawi 99. Im hoping to find a couple of nice manageable malawi phenotypes in that group. Im also considering picking up some malawi gold, because Im really hoping to find something racy/speedy/psychadelic. Maybe even try to cross the M99 back into the MG for some fun hobby breeding

IMO, if you want the unique african equitorial sativa, malawi is the best bet. I know ACE also works with it (guawi cross might be badass), Seedsman has a version called African Buzz....

I base this on smoke reports / grow journals, etc that i was able to track down. I found that the malawi lines contain more vivid accounts of intimidating highs. Some of the other african lines sound mild in comparison....looking at a map indicates why. Malawi is like 15-25 degrees southern latitude or something. Most of this region of the african continent is desert, so Malawi is the unique hotspot.

Id like to get ahold of more, like ethiopian, nigerian, swaziland, etc....but for now, i chose malawi.

thanks for the info :)

i was in amsterdam earlier in the year and i brought 2g of quaze also sold as pure eq sativia which i suspected was malawi gold very loose buds with small calyxs and a harsh taste but it gave a very uplifting almost trippy high

i also heard nigella sativa aka black seed is a very potent strain, but i have found it very hard to find also not sure what part of africa its from either

I have a mate that was brought up in africa. He brought some swazi & durben seeds back for me when he moved back in 1995. I give the durban to a frend that lost them & grow the swazi the smoke wasnt any thing special but the yield was good so i crossed it to a plant i was growing at the time (dont know what strain it was)to get better yields. It had lots of thc glands so if your whanting it to make hash it could be productive to do. It had a earthy tast like mud i got 3 fonos when i crossed it one just like the swazi tast wise & two with a sweet lemony hash tast. So as swazi safari is a cross with skunk it could be close to the cross i grow. I wish i keep 1 of them crosses it was the best smoke i ever grow people still ask if i can get them cuttings of it now but its long gone & i was the only one with it for any time. If you do grow swazi safari let me know if it as the mud tast becouse thats put me of buying it for a long time.

hi brock1

I have smoked some africans and from what I tried I liked the Malawi best , very potent almost overpowering effect , slightly trippy ,the buds are very frosty .The malawi cut I tried was from the ACE guys and I have to say it impressed me more than the ot1 hazes in terms of raw potency. A real thrasher , easily a 9/10 for strength. Hits instantly and immobilizes you mentally as well as physically. Really its hard like being hit by a road train . Btw the Swazi rooi baart seeds I grew came from a fellow grower who had worked with some original stock that came from African Seeds. Good yields 12weeker and very frosty but nothing to say that it worths the wait really but good for hash or oil making as it had a very nice subtle mountain greenblue aroma that transfered to the oil very well and it smoked very nicely and hit like a nice heavy sativa . The taste is very earthy and dry , didnt like it it had that cigar taste I m not very fond of, the oil was honey like in taste though and was superb really. I would like to grow some more africans but they need selection and not many guarrented sources of original selected landrace seed can be found easily. I m sure there are gems to be found though but I think Durban and Malawi are good and worth a try.

Funny you should mention swazi rooi baart he sead it was the best smoke they could get over there at the time when he lived there but he never brought no seeds of it back with him when he moved back. I have seen them at one of the seedbank but dont remember wich one his wife still has family in south africa & his brother whent back for a trip to show is wife were he was brought up. Of all the seeds he could of brought back he brough cronic back sead one of the locals over there sead it was the best he could get, Just shows how thing change best get the land race strains while you can or they will be gone. First crop of swazi i grow got turned into honey oil most of it got waisted becouse i never had a clue what to do with it it was the first time i ever heard of the stuff plastic bottle 4 tins of gas & i had some yellow sticky stuff that was to wet to put in a joint & smoke lol but it didnt stop me trying. But it was stong what didnt get waisted some of the xs where lovely smokes some get a 10/10 from me but some where real bad 1/10 almost un smokeable like smoking mothing but the bits of plastic you get from soapbar big diffrence in them tast wise. but if you get some thing like the mother i kept you will have some happy dizzy days ahead mate. One thing i will say is the seeds i had grow pritty much the same for a seed crop. the only malawi he sead he rememberd smoking over there was them cob things that look like dog poo but he sead it tasted like earthy aniseed & was strong. I hope you find what your looking for mate.

a friend of mine had a full pack of hermies from them last year but he wants it so much he put it down to bad luck and got some more must be worth smoking :)
