Super Silver Haze x Haze AC testers

Today marks Flower Day 78 for the Silver Haze and Flower Day 71 for the Super Silver Haze × Haze AC testers.

We're definitely on the way to harvest. Harvest is planned for next week for both the Silver Haze and the Super Silver Haze × Haze AC. To be honest, I think the SSH × Haze AC could easily go another week, but I have to start harvesting now because of my schedule.

The trichomes on the lower buds are mostly cloudy with a few amber heads showing up, while the main cola is still about a 50/50 mix of clear and cloudy trichomes. Even so, it's time.

What a wonderful strain! The aroma is incredible, it's absolutely covered in resin, and the main cola has developed into a real beauty.

Unfortunately, I noticed something on Little Sister over the last few days that gave me a couple of sleepless nights. One of the sugar leaves sticking out of the main cola started turning yellow surprisingly quickly. Today I gave it a gentle pull, and it came right out, which is usually a pretty reliable sign of bud rot (Botrytis).

So I didn't take any chances and removed roughly the top three-quarters of the main cola. As you can see in the photos below, my suspicion was correct. It had only just started, so I caught it very early.

With the temperatures and humidity we've had here over the last couple of weeks, it was almost inevitable. At times I simply couldn't get the humidity below 70% inside the tent, even with a dehumidifier running. With such a dense, rock-hard main cola, it was really only a matter of time before mold found its way in.

It is what it is. I'm still incredibly happy with this grow, and I'm really looking forward to finding out how everything turns out once it's dried and cured.

Tiptoeing in now! My current run has a bit of time then drying then I'll get some of the tester beans in. My straw came absolutely crushed so I have 8 probably viable seeds. Throwing half in pucks now and keeping the other 4 for another future run.



2 days later we got 2 popped



Always love the vigor of MNS seeds. Looking for some uplifting heady highs preferably. Seems like a great strain to comb through. Thanks for the opportunity to be a tester and I hope I can contribute something to this story!

finaly i am wrong but in the good way i think 5 girls lool

sure for 3 but 90% the 2 others maybe the little one is a guy i have to wait for that

i have also the impress that already strech i 'am a bit surprise

no body talking about smell dam tht smell a lot with no bud

i will wait the eclypse for cloning all the girls

Just a quick look inside the grow tent. These are the last two ladies standing: my Super Silver Haze × Haze AC testers—Little Sister on the left and Big Mama on the right.







I'll probably leave them until Friday before harvesting. Today is Wednesday, and I think they could honestly go another week if I had the time. There are plenty of cloudy trichomes already, with some amber showing up on the lower buds, while the tops are still maturing nicely. Maybe plants grown from clones will finish a little earlier next time—we'll see.

Either way, this is a fantastic strain. The buds are absolutely caked in trichomes, and the aroma is amazing.

One thing surprised me, though. I found a single seed in Big Mama. I have no idea where it came from because I haven't seen a single banana or nanner on any of the plants—not on the Silver Haze and not on either of the testers.



The only explanation I can think of is that some pollen drifted over from the Super Silver Haze × Haze AC male I had in the neighbouring tent, or possibly from the Bubblegum BX2 male we used for a friend's breeding project. Every now and then the flower tent door was open for a short while, so it's certainly possible that a little pollen made its way across.

The third possibility would be pollen coming in through the window, but honestly, I don't think that's very likely.

Anyway, it's interesting to find even a single seed. We'll see if there are any more once everything has dried, although I honestly don't expect there to be.

An update on the eight SSH x AC testers!!
Well, what can I say? They’re struggling!! The weather forecast promised cooler temperatures—at least at night. But during the day—when the two grow tents are in their "night" cycle—the room has hit a low of a whopping 28 degrees so far. Usually, it’s over 30 degrees. It’s a pre-fab apartment building, second-to-top floor. The plants were switched to the flowering phase four days after being repotted. I’m seeing signs of male flowers on the two largest ones. All the tips in the Bio Plugs have wilted on me—except for No. 8.
So, unfortunately, the conditions aren't great. Let's see how bravely they manage to pull through.

The smell is a mix from floral, skunky, citrus and a little chemicals in the background

Day 5 of flowering (12/12).

Plants are on track and keep on growing.
I will make cuts for new moms this weekend, prune the lower branches and leaves out + stake them.
The wheather is again very hot, temps get over 30°C but they don't seem bothered.
Good news is that in 2 days the temps will go down a lot.
They got their first feeding today, 2ml/L Alga Bloom and 1ml/L Silick Rock.
Nice vertical growth, branches are no as fast to grow outwards for now.

My SSH cut is in the right pot where the weather station sits on.
SSHxAC's are having a bit fatter leaves compared to her.

Hello friends of fine herb

As mentioned, I harvested Big Mama today.

She has a really nice smell—slightly skunky with floral and sweet notes. There's also something a little spicy and earthy in there, although I'm honestly pretty bad at describing terpenes. To me, she has a real old-school smell.

Definitely some big, dense, compact buds… simply beautiful.

Plants are doing wonderfull job, I have added just a bit of calmag, bit of silic rock and some algae based additives.
I can clearly see, I have too rich soil build, so I will water it more comprehensively.
I need 2 more weeks so I can switch to flowering..



SSHAC1
- looks to have some kind of preflower, I hope it is female
- stem rubbing reveals lot of perfume like fruits
- it has lot of trichomes at this early stage



SSHAC2
- she is female
- stem rubbing reveals lot of perfume smells and just litlle bit of fruits in background




SSHAC5 & 6
- both are doing well, maybe 6 is litlle bit faster

Hi everyone!
The SSH x AC test plants have managed to recover a bit over the last few days. The heat had been truly unbearable up until then. After I enriched the irrigation water with Bio Nova Silution, Xcel, and M.Link, I could really see that it helped them cope with those poor conditions.
Two males have since appeared; they have been removed.

#1 & #2 got tiped multiple time so far, they have many many branches
Yet Iam still waiting to be able to take clones of small ones

But it is getting closer, day by day !
*Also my 2nd soil mixture has supermix content halved - so it is easier for the plants hopefully .

Day 10 of flowering (12/12).

The SSHxAC's are showing good health and vigour.
Most are keeping up with the SSH cut or perform even better.
Feeding stays at 2ml/L Alga Bloom every other watering.

I made the cuts for new moms and did a more agressive pruning of the lower branches today.
Thrips made it into my mother tent and I saw on 2 plants the first signs of thrips.
To control them I decided to cut the lower branches off (saw only a couple of leaves with some damage at the bottom).
I will watch closely for the next 2 weeks, I hope I don't have to spray them.
Airflow will be drastically improved and normally I would top them but I want to see their structure first.
They do grow faster than expected so topping could still happen if needed.

I will place stakes this week.

Led's are at 50% power.
