Some questions about Mango Haze

Hi my MNS Mango Haze are on the way so I was having a few questions that I hope could get answered.

I have about a square meter of space with alittle more then a meter in the height. I was wondering if I could scrog 1 plant to fit that entire area? I plan on putting the seeds into flower a few days after they crack. I'll wait on them to sex,take clones(or should I take clones then sex?) and label everything. I then plan on flowering the clones 1 at a time while keeping some clones for mom plants until I find the pheno I like. Then I'll find something to do with the rest of the moms I dont have room for.

I'll be looking for the Mango pheno or the Mango/Incense pheno. How many phenos are there and How much chance do I have with 18 seeds to find the mango phenos? I plan on cracking 9 at a time. Also will I be able to figure any pheno out before flowers show by smell of the stem and structure of the plant?

This will be my first scrog so I was wondering how I should train the plant into the scrog. Do I top it or bend it as it grows,how much veg does a clone need to reach 1m2?

If you could answer some of my questions I would greatly appreciate it because I need a little reassurance.

Ill be flowering in this. Its around 3ftx3ftx4ft when the hood is in.Im going to be using Coco with PBP nutes and 3gallon or 5gallon bags. Im hoping I can keep the net at 1-1.5ft if not closer to the table. Im going to flower under a 600w hps, Im going to do everything else under a CFL.

Hi archangel,

Are the 9 plants gonna be in the 3ftX3ft ? If it is the case you better start flowering when they are two weeks old and some nice tying and cutting cos they will definitly overgrow the room.
 
Im going to have 9 plants in veg and probably not that many in the tent. Maybe a few at a time while I keep moms,until I find what im looking for. Then I'll get rid of moms as I go and keep only 1 or 2.
 
As far as picking phenos before you flower, the answer is simply:
You don't know what the plant is until you smoke it.
I understand you want to run your grow as a selection to find the best keeper. Your ideas about rotating through the space are creative and workable. I would think you would try to 4 girls at a time in your 3ftx3ftx4ft space. Maybe think about running that light vertically at the top of the box and surround it with a plant in each corner. That way you maximize headroom and your light.
I may pick up a 600 and try that myself when I start running haze.

You have a couple of problems facing you:
  • low ceiling, hot light, tall hydro "stack" (unless you change to handwater bags or buckets) leaves little "headroom."
  • Tall, stretchy, notoriously late/long flowering strain of dynomite that has a reputation for dominating every space it grows in.

My recommendations are:
  • Start with short, vigorous clones from a mature plant (has shown sex), not seed.
  • Flip to 11/13 (Haze) at 8 or 10in.
  • Keep MH as your light source until the end of the second week of bloom, then change to HPS.
  • Have LOTS of air circ.
  • Start working your branches and make the most of your space.

That's about all you can do.

Minimizing your grow stack (medium, reservoirs, reflectors, light and light buffer determine the highest your plants can go (vertical changes this.)

I just seems to me that you have to use every trick in the SOG playbook, but have different expectations for the outcome.
