can't see the pics hombre

Hey Ouchie TY for the link to that,,,funny finding the conclusion here on this site.

I think there's many categories here that I have yet to explore.

I need to use that search key that I used to,,,,been just reading since I've been here.

The phenos that I've seen so far have not been the Ortega pheno that I had,,

and that was had! she's sadly gone,,and all the beans that I made with her
I gave away ,and my stash of genetics that I had accumulated was lost by
a very nasty and mean hearted bitch,,,,yes I also have an ex wife...

she knew exactly where to hurt me...

I'd take 6 kicks to the bag today for my library to be returned...

and still smile...while the black and purple colors slowly washed away
over the weeks,,,and the pains shot through my spine,,,

I'd clutch my precious collection of genetics that I'd bred and acquired
since 1985...

She had long spear shaped, majestic fan blades,,,subtle teeth and serrations.
The colas were far less expressive with pistillate and more meat.

Very resinous ,,early on as well, and the fan leafs were glowing with resin.

More leafy .resin soaked buds,,,,very indica,,,no stretch to speak of,,
maybe 2 to 3" at best.

very minimal side branching, with a medium yield..

But that smell was soo sickly sweet,,,of earthy ,,hashish,,,,it was unreal ..

Nothing smelled like that ,,,even today having grown out so many phenos

I long for that one that got away.

I really didn't know what I truly had...or I would have kept her.

The high was majestic,,soothing, euphoric,,,,utter happiness and comfort.

You could smoke it every day and still crave it,

The smell of it's burning fibers drew so much attention, and everybody had
to sample her.

The hashish from her was to die for.

It wasn't a super knock your dick into the dirt stone, but a fully enjoyable
warm blanket ,,that showed you how good life can be...

definitely what my med patients need today...

something to make them smile and forget about how fucked up their
lives has become due to their bodies falling apart with age ...

If Breeder Steve was given a shot at these same beans from Nev and found
this gal amongst them ,then I'd really like to confirm that idea...

Or was it given to him as the SPG was from the Asian canna community in
Canada?

Hmmmm????

I know there changing servers so that might be why you can't see them. When it's up click photos on the top and go to my gallery. Or click on the pics and you will see them full-size

I can see them before I typed this.

aww fuggit!
I'm not going to miss out on gathering some truly legendary building blocks and icons for genetics..

These are basicly an IBL from my golden years 1987 1988 ...

NL#1...

Everybody grows differently ,,I've seen plants grown by others that were a terrible representation of a strain's capabilities and then I grew them and they were superb specimens..

I've just ran across this thread and these look as if mine do when I grow them.
These are ideal structured seedlings and superior genetics in my eyes..

Yes I like to breed,,I'm a pollen tossin nutjob! I won't lie!

I just fished out the extra $$ to add to my order that will go out tomorrow to Shanti,,,I'm getting the Ortegas!

Look at this link..

Too bad Hashimoto did as so many do,,start a grow log and abandon it ..

Pisses me off to no end!

Regardless I know when I like something after getting a visual...

These I like!!!

I'm thru two rounds of the Ortega. I'm still deciding between which plant I like better. The highs of each were all about the same the biggest difference was the yield and that's not that much.
The high of the Ortega was def strong and can wear you down. Not a daytime smoke at all. Personally i will only be using it as a sleep aid. I tried smoking it all day and it seemed that it had no legs. I was not getting all that high the more I smoked.
Overall this plant was easy to grow but IMO a little temperamental. It has lots of vigor and was easy to clone. I think this plant could be a great one to breed with.

Sensi's NL was nothing like it was described. For the most part they were tall stretchy plants. The only one that stayed short and had dense buds had no vigor.
The high was good on the two plants I have smoked so far. Yield was average. Growing this strain was kind of a pain. Not one was less than 70 days compared no more than 60 on ortegas, ortegas actually were closer to 50-55 days. One of mine the nl5 which I have culled was very sativa/hazy with very thin wispy buds. That one was good smoke that was one you could smoke all day.

I wil not be keeping a NL's in my grow room and I will have an Ortega for awhile for Breeding purposes both a male and female.

Overall the Ortega is def the way to go. You have a much better chance of consistency with that strain. The high of sensi's did exceed the ortegas but not by much. They were two diff highs so it's hard to compare. Since the ortegas are somewhat of an IBL I think that would be expected.

I'm going to throw more pics when I have more time. I will also run a selfed Ortega in the future. The o7 pollinated the nl5 so that will be interesting to see as well.

As long as I have ortegas in my room I will post pics here. Feel free to ask questions. I have about 7-10 days left on an O1 and O6 so I wil have comparison shots of those. The nl6 was put into 3 days of darkness last night and will be chopped soon.

Resin, what flavors and aromas are you encountering in the Ortegas? Sweetish berry flavors? Or earthy/skunky? Thanks

ESS

Ortega flavor

Without a good cure it's hard to say. Def not a fruity or berry. During flowering I get a lemony/candy citrus smell but it doesn't seem to transfer to taste. I would say it leans towards earthy. Most of what I have grown so far is in the hands of others and I'm awaiting reports on what others thought of the two strains. I have jars of each Ortega and NL to smoke at a later date. Even when i open the jars I don't smell anything that stands out. Very low key on odor and taste so far.
I find it kind of hard describing tastes and smells. I try to only smell or taste one plant a day to not confuse my senses. By the End of next month I will have smoked more and hopefully will be able to tell you more

Ortega sounds just like what Dr.Me ordered. A mix of that and the new Remedy sounds very interesting. Maybe call it "coma coma"

Here are some pics of Ortega #1. I have a few more recent pics in my albums but these are the best. Notice how I am cutting the lower portion entirely off. I have no issues with low light levels at the lower part of plant since I have been doing this. I have decided to [pollinate the 4 females I have left with the single male I sprouted. I will keep the #6 at least for awhile it seems to be the best of them so far.

I gave this bud out to 3 different people. For the most part they all agreed that it was good bud. I asked about smells from them and I got lemon, orange, citrus, apple and wood leaning towards cedar. As far as taste they said average and just like weed no distinguisable flavors when smoking. They all agreed that it was def a nighttime smoke it weighed on them when it was smoked during the day.
Any questions feel free to ask as I said before Ill still post pics every now and again.

On the top left is O1 bottom left O5 top right O6 bottom right O10.

Each of these is going to be pollinated with the O4 male I have. The male was just put into flower and I will have pics in a week or two.

Of the Ortegas I have left they are all very similiar. In veg and immediatly after sprout they all were pretty close to the same. Height and structure are consistant with the plants. One noticable difference in flowering is the bud structure. The O5 and O10 seem to be more rounded at the tops. I will followup with pics of these plants as they progress in flowering. A few posts back you can see the more pointed O1. O10 seems to be more dense as well.

IMO there is a difference in the high from these 2 plants. The more rounded one seems to be stronger. I would say the more rounded pheno is a better pick medicinaly. The pointed pheno seems to have a little more body high than the other.

Im growing all 4 side by side to help show everyone the differences I see. If anyone else out there has an Ortega or two please let me know if you have seen this as well or if you think you have a pheno difference than these. Given these are a few gens then I would suspect there is not to many phenos

Sensi's NL was nothing like it was described. For the most part they were tall stretchy plants. The only one that stayed short and had dense buds had no vigor.
I had the same experience with sensi NL about 8 years ago. It was definitely not the NL I remembered. Tall, stretchy, big gaps, medium small, middlish quality buds. Nothing even close to a keeper.

Those Ortega's look damn nice though.

Thanks Wonk.

Here is the some pics of the only male I got. It started out with very wide more indica dom than any of the others.

well i really digged this whole grow with the Ortega's and Sensi NL...i know many won't believe this but Nirvana has a very nice NL that imho far exceeds the NL from Sensi...as i understand it Nirvana took Nev's NL and inbred the hell out of it, it appears that breeder Maou has more skills now then Ben's sons at Sensi...if Sensi didn't have a good past history with Shanti and Nev's work it would probably be a seedbank of the past, the only ppl that seem to buy Sensi are those who have done little research or really really hope to find a plant that they found in a Sensi pack 10yrs ago, sadly the names are the same but the genetics have changed...Nirvana is just as bad with names but atleast they are transparent about their bullshit...i'm gonna try Shanti's Nordle and maybe the Ortega, may throw a few Nirvana NL's in to show everyone what i'm talking bout, probably won't be as good as Shanti's indica's but with Nirvana its like the lotto, sometimes you win and sometimes you lost but unlike Sensi the price reflects the quality much better

Grew out sensi seeds nl in 2007 and out of 30 seeds we found 6 keepers and all was resinous and we flowered for 65 75 days and the smoke was couchlock city. You wont feel the power if you harvest them at 50 days they are done at 70 75 days. They had dark green leafs looked black like. Really wished i keeped her. Hope their nl is still the same. Their bd is aswome so is the g13 hp. We found the g13 pheno. Hope their hashplant super skunk and their full line is the same. I hear bad reviews on their afghani #1 . I found keepers that was awsome bushy plants with afghani like leaves. I think its hard to find keepers since sensi seeds went to ten seeds per pack thoe.
