Just wanted to let you all know , so no one panics if the service rate falls a little over the next 90 days from my side...since I am off to Indonesia once again . Finished the first of many harvests and alot of relocation this year but all in all it was fruitful and will be more and more fruitful as time goes on. I leave now as I just put in a new crop which is at least a 3 month one , and considering all the new seeds are getting packaged as we speak and will be available as soon as they are completed from www.vu-du.com and then the rest of the online sellers, well it is time for some adventure and to hang out on the new eco-villas we are constructing on a small diving island called Gili Trawangan.
We (a few friends and myself) have purchased a hectare of beach front on this island situated between Bali and Lombok, since it does not have any motor cars or engines nor will ever be allowed them. The form of transport is horse drawn buggie and boats or bicycle. The island has one of the best spots for diving as well as a preservation and egg farm for the giant sea turtle, not to mention big conservation of the coral reefs.
Our villas have their own solar cells and wind turbine without the use of diesel generators, as well as being built in recycled teak wood, and biological septic tanks that re use the grey water for the garden. There is a lot more but it is my turn to go there and design the gardens and common areas outside since I am the one out of the group who has plenty of knowledge on this.
So please if there are people who you see on the boards or help desks that are waiting to get sorted out or have problems ask them to be a little patient as Shantibaba is on another mission oversea for the next 90 days. I will be online but limited.
Therefore I would like to take this opportunity to wish the Mr Nice Seedbank community a very safe and healthy Christmas and New Year...I appreciate how things have grown for us all here and am happy we are paving a way for liked minded and competent growers world wide. I am very proud of all of you who contribute to well thought out conversations and interaction even when you all have different ways of seeing things. It is a great example to the world of how people of various countries and cultures grow together with honest communication, good genetics and a lot of trials and error.
I plan to get a lot of strains up for those of you who prefer to go with old school genetics and regular seed, since I really do believe that breeders are a dying profession since the trends of chemically-manipulated female seeds have graced the shores of the lazy grower. The fast food philosophy has osmotically permeated the gene pool and concerns me when it comes to breeding stock. There are companies selling seed nowadays that do not have any breeding experience but have 50 strains available, most owned by guys who could never personally have source their origins of seed in the world since they do not own a passport or traveled more than to pass by a hemp show in Europe! I am not trying to put down anyone or any company in particular since we are all on the same side, but regulation or lack of it amongst the seed world in the 21st century is a perplexing predicament to remain in all your life. Officially we do not exist since the strains are not recognized by any flora society, but we pay taxes get harassed and sometimes even loose our freedom fighting for a plant put on earth way before we got here! I hope that 2009 will be a good start to a change we were all promised...
Let me finish by saying thanks to Admini for the back seat driving he does to keep you all safe and the site contemporary. In actual fact the site runs by Admini and myself only...but you guys who visit regularly and we all know who you are, have made this site a great home in the cyberworld for us all, and that is the truth! So be well and be great at what you do and keep up the growing happiness that brings us all together .
