Root growth

I am having some problems with the root growth of Mango Haze (clones) - or rather the lack of it.
I have so far been growing White Widow, Skunk #1, Super Haze and Grape Kool Aid - all of which have had healthy roots - under a 400 w HPS. I usually grow in a soil(less) medium (peat, perlite, champost, bone meal, kelp meal, blood meal, dolomite lime and basalt meal), which the Mango Haze seemingly did not like at all. I have since tried perlite mixed with either plain soil or peat, but the roots are still growing really slowly.
I am now trying out using rootjuice before they are set to 12/12, which seems to do something at least.
By other accounts I read in here, it seems adviseable to flower the MH from clone or seed, but without (enough) roots, I am more or less leaning towards vegging it till it has a decent rootball, and then cutting it down to a few nodes before flowering (my growroom is less than 1 sq.m).

Any advice will be welcome :)

Im having problems like your having with some Malawi Gold seed plants. Root growth is very slow even after flushing media, replacing media, etc..They didn't like the first mix I gave them, and have been pouting ever since. Wish I could help you, but I feel your pain.

Maybe she'll turn around eventually.

I have twice tried to grow mango haze in soiless: once with perlite hempy and once in a coco hempy. both times the plant was completely stunted. I am not a very skilled grower, but I have not had the same problem with other strains.

I grew the same cut of mango in promix recently, and had an excellent harvest with good root growth. My lesson: there must be something to understand about starting mango haze in soiless media. What it is, I don't know!

Sorry I haven't answered in a while - had some problems posting, and totally forgot about it.
I found my problem to be phylloxera Phylloxera - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Nasty little critters which I have apparently been feeding for at least a year. My other strains does not seem to suffer as much as the Mango Haze, which is why i seem to have missed them.
As per asking around and reading lots on the internet i have decided to clean out my (indoor) growing space, rather than trying to battle them further, which seems pretty much impossible. I have taken cuttings of my mothers (after spraying, using nematodes and carnivorous mites) and moved them to another location. The flowering room will be emptied in about a week, after which I will thoroughly clean it and toss all organic matter.

Apart from the annoyance of having to close it all down (including tossing rather large plants) i am really looking foreward to seeing healthy roots.
