I could smoke a warm, euphoric, and slightly psychedelic plant with little to no ceiling for the rest of my life.
I'm still searching.
I have come up with a strain with that quality. I call it Grape Bomb. A local Grape Ape x (Mr Greengenes) Maui Waui Cherry Bomb. I recently spun it into hash and I smoke the stripped weed that was left in the sieve. That is 2 hit weed, even stripped of trichomes. For this strain I would add 'erotic' to your list of "warm, euphoric, and slightly psychedelic". Its good for sex too. And no ceiling. Maui Waui CB is also good no ceiling stuff, with good levels of CBC (CBC, not CBD or CBG). Par'tay weed. It lifts you into the high, no rushes, and no paranoia. Old school, good stuff. Big Island Kona Gold is not far off of that as well. I tried crossing Kona Gold x Maui Waui CB last year too, but the pollen was frozen from 2 years before and I only got about a dozen seeds. I will test grow that next year. I have high hopes for that cross.

I've been sitting on some Swami Cherry Bomb for too long, this makes me want to run them next fall. I'm thinking it may also cross well with Mango Haze Ibl and our Local R2

I must say that over the years I noticed that I usually like the effects of the more fruti-lines in general (blues, cherry). I had a Cherry Fuel for 6-7 years but I replaced it with a Skywalker Haze (Blueberry leaning). This is for me a perfect evening smoke. Not so much during the day.

Personally I like to be just the right amount of high. I smoke 3/4g a day. I like it strong enough to dose at a puff or two.
i don’t even consider the THC for my head stash, I go by the taste and the smell, and how it burns. I realized that the more I liked the taste the more I liked the effect. I‘d say 9/10
I do like to be able to share a 3/4g joint and have that be plenty.

Well, if you can find any sources these days, the 'real' old school gear from Maui, Oahu and The Big Island were and are really good. I got my Maui Waui Cherry Bomb beans from a good friend in Europe who knows Mr Greengenes and he got them directly from him back in the day. I traded some of my IBL bred MWCB beans from those grows to a friend on the Big Island for his old school Kona Gold. Kona Gold weed is commonly available locally here in Oregon at dispensaries. I also have some Waipi'o Hapa beans that I got in trade from a fellow in California. I had a lot of Maui Waui (not Cherry Bomb) back in the day in California but no seeds left from any of that, unfortunately. It was not nearly as good as the MWCB, but it was like the best Mexican available back in the day. Maui Waui was likely bred from Mexican bag weed and grown in the cane fields there. No cane fields on Maui any more. They banned burning. I have also been looking for old school Wialole beans from Oahu but no luck finding them. My cousin used to send me that weed from her place in Honolulu. She called it, "loco pokalolo". It was good stuff. I am also always looking for Puna Buddah, but methinks that may be extinct like Greek Kalamata. People claim that they have it, but... whatever they have of either seems to be rather lacking.
CBC is rather rare in strains and it is hard to find any strains with any amount of CBC in it. Not many people test for it. It is one of the 6 or 8 better known cannabinoids. As for fruity, when I grow the Cherry Bomb, it has the best smell of any weed I have grown. I would walk out to the greenhouse or into the back curing room just to smell that stuff growing or curing. It has a strong cherry and slight pineapple smell to it. Its divine. The only strain that come close is fresh Durban Poison with the Anise and Sandalwood smell. I do not smell much any more after having Covid last fall though. Maybe I have to grow some Cherry Pie again. That stuff REEKS for fruit! Its a cross of Durban Poison and Granddaddy Purple. GDP also reeked, but that has more of a Kush heavy myrcene smell to it.

I was informed that the later released Swami MWCB may have been crossed by accident with Vietnam Black, and hence they tend to herm. Swami has done a lot of breeding with VN Black. My MWCB run came from a separate lot and they have never hermed on me. My VN Black hermed on me when I bred it with another Viet strain. The results were a chocolate smelling dark purple edged plant (which looks black from a distance, and where its name comes from). MWCB is a good breeding strain, like Durban Poison is. VN Black runs so late I have only bred it with other SE Asian and Colombian late blooming strains.

I've voted devastating but would like to just clarify that for me it don't just mean a gibbering mess an completely monged out. For me it would be along the lines of " be aware, may cause psychosis or dissociative disorder, paranoia an increased heart rate coupled with the feelings of things almost not being real as if trapped in a alternate reality for a good few hours. With destabilization of gravity an the surrounding area around you" . I love flower like this although it was quite rare to find at some points in time.
Some of the widow line cuttings that shantibaba used to use ghs days were in another league too an were extremely powerful an very memorable. Putting for example a half ounce on the table an messing with it a little would leave a huge amount of pure resin heads on the table. Even the ak47 clone they were using then would do the same thing an that to similarly packed awesome power. An that to like the selected widow family cuttings would leave quite a few people a serious mess. I feel blessed to have experienced some of these things.

You want some good old school Punto Rojo, the central mountain Colombian from back in the day. It was a shorter term high than a few hours though. But we always had more to smoke back then, at the rate of $30 an oz. Punto Rojo and its cousin Mangobiche seem to still be around. One grower here sent me some beans and some weed from his cross of the two, and that had that reminiscent Punto Rojo rushy short lived high to it. The blood never forgets.
Then again, after thinking about it, maybe you really want some old school Kerala ganja from South India. Hard to find now, most of it is now tainted with Afghani or Pakistani genetics. That stuff remains the most psychotropic brain freezing weed that I have ever smoked. It took us to another reality for a few hours. I left several frozen people stoned out of their gords with a few hits of that stuff. Not so rushy as the Punto Rojo, but longer and more intense. Brain freeze material. I believe that the original GHS White Widow/MrN Black Widow is half South India Ganja. I have grown original WW, but it did not take me to the same place as the original Ganja did circa 1975. Stoned, yes. But not out of this world stoned. The original pure Ganja is more dangerous. Were that I had a cut of Scott's South India Ganja... but as I recall, that was the father of Black Widow, so no good for cloning. Sigh.
Then there is Durban Poison. The THCv in Durban gives it the sneaker effect. You smoke a bowl and think, "this is good. really good. so I should smoke some more." But wait! Beware of doing that! Because the THCv wears off after about 30 minutes and the high really kicks in hard and fast. If you have smoked more then that will kick in 30 minutes later, and then you will forget where you are or what you were doing. You will have arrived in another time and space. Yeah, I love Durban. I have grown, bred and smoked lots and lots of it. That and MWCB are two of my all time favorites. Well, if I really want to get buzzed. I tend to smoke more day weed that is more uplifting and mellow like Lebanese or Colombian Gold. But if I want to get hammered, well, there are my Durbans and Grape Bomb, and MWCB to smoke.

Which leads me to ask... what form of "devastating" are we talking here? South India Ganja brain freeze chair locked for hours? Or crawl under the table after smoking Punta Roja (Colombian Red)? Or pass out after one hit of African Black Magic? Only to be revived with a coke spoon receeding from view and a woman with green hair with purple tips smiling down at you, saying "I thought you could use a lift"? Or complete loss of blood tone and falling over (literally) unable to move from the high THC in shatter, or from smoking a whole gram of Lebanese hash in one sitting? Or, is 'devastating' when you have to open a window and stick you head out after smoking a few hits wondering what the fuck you just smoked, and the next thing you know you are running round the parking lot? That after you smoked some Colombian Black? Yeah, THAT was psycho weed. It scared people. Similar effect as Mr Natural blotter. VERY intense. Most psychadellic weed I have smoked. Rather jarring and fingers on the chalkboard though, like Mr Natural was for me. I never liked doing that stuff, as it was just too intense. I have some seeds of that stuff someplace. People seem to think that weed was all weak and nothing compared to weed these days. I would counter that was simply not the case. Yes, average weed was so so, but there was good stuff around too. Really good, and it was all really cheap in retrospect.

And one last thought. As weed strains go, old school Santa Marta Colombian Gold is what people seem to describe was original Haze. Personally I believe that was all that Haze was, Colombian Gold obtained in Central California and taken for a ride to Holland and given a spin to sell it. Maybe bred IBL, but not crossed with other Colombians or Mexican or Ganja. Nevil indicated that he agreed with my view on this. Others debate this endlessly or the story changes with time. The comparisons and descriptions of the highs are very similar between original Haze and Colombian Gold though. That being where you are lifted up gently, and you drift like a snowflake floating along and then land softly on a bed of angelic pubic hair. Not exactly devastating, but more typically where I want to be when I get high. Sometimes I want to get trashed, other times pass out, other times become brain frozen, or other times rip with Durban. That is the great thing about weed. But as I found very early on with smoking weed, tolerance builds up very fast. At least with me it does. Like as soon as after the first high on any particular strain. Hence back in the day I used to always try to have several strains available. Now I have maybe 30 strains available at any given time. I get all these samples from friends growing around here or sent in the mail. Everyone grows more than they can consume. I have many samples that I have yet to smoke. Many are plain too potent, or not what I want in a high. But even the best stuff is very elusive. So I have to mix things up, and go without certain strains for a while before I can get the same or similar effect again. Or dry out for a while. African Black Magic, Kerala Ganja, Zac Purple, Cambo Red, Durban and Colombian Black... they all get old. Such is the nature of the psychotropic weed. At least for me anyway. And hence why I have collected so many strains over the years. I also have a green thumb which helps.

but at the time had no idea what they really were.
If I'm not mistaken, some farmers would create a custom blend which would also blur the lines.

I like a full palette.
As a young man, I loved some of the better quality Mexican because you could chain-smoke joints that would nudge you higher and higher with the ceiling being how much you could consume. The same stuff made psychedelic edibles. Now I have worn out lungs and prefer the strongest stuff, in fact, I've gone for a dab rig.

Thanks for the suggestions Big Sur, i think those are very fitting recommendations. The good thing is its exactly some of those things that ive been trying to get in good forms. Ive been looking for a good coloumbian for some time. But Its hard to get that punto roja (like the one you describe) from back in the day. So ive had to try to look for other colombian types too such as old smgold. That colombian black you describe sounds perfect for me. Did you ever get to try the dark sticky chebba type ? The roja x mango biche sounds really good. An the other type ive been trying to get is the old kerlan more so especialy the darker almost blueish type. I have been looking into the mwcb myself recently. Do you know if they come out quite sativa. You see i think i have the perfect mate for a good mwcb, i have a very old pure extreame sativa mexican line from which ive found one plant that towards the end of flower turns complety dark gold an purple. Has a very beutiful taste of cherry and some cedar, very incensey too. I think it will do very well with a good mwcb or original bshw an may even bring out the old purple zacetas type put to a good sativa type bshw. Thanks man you've given me more confidence of me being on the right track with the few things im looking for.
