% of mango phenos in mango haze

Hey guys girls nuts squirrels was wondering if anyone knows if mango is the common theme among mango haze or not. I hear alot of people say their mango is spicy incense but not too many say the mango haze is mangoie, sorry made up word. Ive got a pack of these on the strength of franks fave weed thread, it's colossal like the biggest running endorsement for mango haze ever. I think hempy said his fave mango girl named queeny was very mango but other than that I don't hear too much so if youve got some experience with mangoie mango hazes Id like to hear about it. Cheers guys and girls.

Don't discount that "spicy incense" covers a verrry vast terrain of aroma and taste profiles. And the fact that there are dozens of different Mango varieties both in nature and cultivated.

My girlfriend's mother is Jamaican and I have had mangos that range from a simple creamy/custard flavour to a wild, spicy boquet that includes curry leaves, rose, black pepper, muskmellon and honey.

I have often read the mango aroma in Mango Haze referred to as "green mango". Sounds like a sour/acid/floral kind of smell associated with unripe, exotic mangos rather than a thick, rich, simple "sweet" smell associated with a decently ripe convenience store mango.

I saw basically two main phenos. one stretchy and mango flavored, and the short one was like pine and mango flavor mixed.
when burned you can smell spice and incense.
stretchy one is better smoke:):)

Thanks for all the input guys all great stuff. I'm gonna try to slowly work my way through them so I don't miss anything. I felt like I rushed my widows and ended up maybe missing out on one or two really nice girls so I'll try to take these slow and steady. Farmergiles I like this description more mango than mango sounds killer. Dawn nice descriptions too and thanks for the tips. Keep it coming guys let's tango with mango.

The only way to do it is to veg them just before you sex you clone and number each one then flower the seed plants out harvest and smoke test each one and cull all that you dont like re run the selected ones again and re pick.

The mango haze IMO is one of the best lines available and has been since it was made available to the community.

You mite find plants with no smell even in flower show you will find mango smelling plants and even sk fruity smells but smoke quality is were you need to focus on and when you smoke the right plant i would bet she remains in your mum room longer than any other plant from any other line avaluble thats no bull shit.

The smells tend to change as flowering progresses, mine are just a little over a month into flowering..

Like hempy said you don't really know until you've harvested and cured.

But I'm definitely smelling Mangoes at this stage :D.

Everyone told me to go straight into 12/12 from seed. I didn't listen and did it my way and some of mine were 6'-8' tall. It was very difficult to manage and I couldn't do it again as I now have a tent that has only 6'. I had one Mango Haze that was very hard to grow, it was #5 on my list. hempy helped me save it but the smoke was no good. I found if you have one that doesn't like food to just give it water and it does great. Don't be surprised if the pheno you don't like ends up being the keeper. Again, as the plant matures when cloning and going for round 2 or 3 and as the bud cures in the jar over the months the smells and tastes and effect for that matter change and get better. So don't discount anything on the first run, that was another grievous mistake I made.
Hope this helps

thanks Dawn, I'm a bit surprised ... I thought that extreme stretch was more a NH sort of thing and MH would have similar stretch to SSH, which I have grown. (SSH was stretchy, but less so than Kaze, or the NH reports I see)

I'm not doubting your report one bit; but I wonder if everyone had that same level of extreme stretch with MH? Do you recall how long was your MH veg?

thx

I vegged mine for about 3 weeks at 20/4 then hit them with 12/12 before preflower had shown. A bit stretchy but no unmanageable.

I think there is a fair variation (I'm only flowering two MH girls atm) and also that they tend to be a little stretchier than SSH.

Nice plant farmergiles hope she turns out well for you. Hempy thanks for stopping and contributing I know your a mango haze specialist and I loved your grow logs on it when they were up, another reason I got mango haze. I'm not stuck on just finding a mango smelling girl just wondering if if the commen theme among them. My only plan is to find the best in the lot whatever her smell may be. Again thanks guys for sharing your experiences.

the "short" mh stretch about 3-4x and the stretchy one 5-7x depends on the difference size of flower and veg container.:)

hi shelby there not all going to smell of mango but when they do you will know it say 2 weeks or so into flowering and i saw 2 types of mango smelling plants one was a sour mango smell and one a very sweet mango smelling plant that had the smell of bowen mango's.

The worse thing any person growing MH or any haze hybrid can do is to cull the longer flowering phinos because most times the same plants run from clones can come in much faster than the seed plant and there the ones with the real trippy affects i found.

Some people Were lucky and found really tippy haze highs from plants that were mature in 9 weeks of flowering from seed plants its all luck really but MH i feel is one of the best lines avaluble.

Thanks again hempy. Had or have a major problem in the garden my plants got tmv and had to trash basically everything a couple years of work in the garbage. At least I only popped two mango haze seeds I still have the whole pack basically so that's about the only good really coming out of it. Anyway as much as it sucks and I may have to start totally over I can't let it stress me too much, have to keep moving. But I really do appreciate everyone chiming in and hopefully can start popping some mango seeds once I'm sorted.

Sorry to hear about that Shelby.
Losing a couple of years work must be very hard.
I guess you have some work to do sorting out the tmv.
Hope you are back in the saddle soon.

Highs from different phenos

Hello all, I'm a new member trying to get some info. I was wondering if there is any difference in the "highs" depending on phenotype? and how much of a difference there is?

I already purchased some MH seeds and have 3 seedlings at the moment growing perfectly in an RDWC system, I have to solve some space issues in order to pop more seeds. I can't have many plants due to local regulations so I have to work slow, and if the difference in highs is negligible I would rather work with the first female I find, and then work one seed at a time until I find the perfect girl to be my mom. I'm a haze guy and from the smoke reports I have read this is "the one". I hope I might be able to find at least 1 female out of those 3 seedlings, I'm already following all the recommendations to increase the female/male ratio (temp, nutrients, light schedule).

I believe this answers my question...

Its simply that good, where I dont really see a reason to keep experimenting with other varietys when my main goal is quality is smoke and thats what Mango Haze delivers in almost every plant from every single seed Ive grown. Thats the kind of consistany Ive just not seen from other companies, which is why Im convinced Mango Haze could enter any cup and walk away with a trophy. Top grade ganja, I highly recommend this variety for sure, cant really say enough about it.

I done a pack o mh.got.12.f.6 were good.1 was fruity but would need a good veg.all flowered from seed Not as tall as nh.3 biggiest took longer to finnish.bigg yield and stone is like 90$ nl 5 haze stone .i have a bizzarre looking one xmas tree look solid leg size pointred with much solid low.branches 6 ft flowrerd from seed 4 months smells like old nl5..cant wait to try it.i may keep this One. Hi Xchus :)
There is difference in the highs depending on phenotype, and the difference can be as dramatic as night and day in my experience. One of the most ideal phenotypes to look for in the MNS Mango Haze is a plant that smells profusely of Mango, however you can find a plant that does just that and it may lack in other important qualities. Ultimately you're looking for that 1 in 100, maybe 1 in 1,000 plant that just has it all. Smells of Mango, smokes like the best haze hybrids, has a quality high (which can vary sharply in terms of affect) with a particular taste, yield etc that one finds desireable.

Along the way you're going to find many high quality plants, but they may be full of positive attributes in one sense and void in other area's, yet still high quality. Not every single plant is a champion, but you will find quite a few plants along the way that will make you stop and consider keeping them. The decisions will ultimately become hard to make the longer you sift threw the seeds, because the more plants you have to select from, the more amazing plants you're left with to make tough decisions.

So you're ultimately looking for a plant that stands out to you the cultivator, grower and smoker. You're not going to find one waving flags come harvest time, you're going to need to observe them from the beginning to the end, taking notes from virtually the beginning to the end in order to get an overall view of how the ultimate plant selected grew versus how it smoked etc. You may find one that smokes amazing, yet yields poor. There will be plants that smoke both amazing and yield equally as impressive, so its a matter of continuing the quest until you've found your personal grail.

And the MNS Mango Haze is just that, the true holy grail in my humble opinion.

tazmcd, Jesse, Dawn,

Thanks for the reply. I would like to add more information about myself, so you know what my short and long term goals are. Where I live it is really hard to find good weed, usually you only find "schwag" or "brickweed" which is compressed, heavily seeded, and chemically treated outdoor cannabis, which is really nasty, and if you are lucky enough you might find some "creepy" indoor weed but most times is still seeded (I live in a third world country). However, I went to college in the US and later on worked abroad, which allowed me to smoke some awesome ganja in different countries.

I had the chance to visit Amsterdam 3 times, and one time I stayed for 5 days only touring coffeeshops and trying as many varieties as I could. I researched before I made the trip, however I was a noob and only knew about the big "brands" so I visited, GHS, Barney's, Amnesia, Dampkring, and Katsu. I tried, SSH, Super Lemon Haze, G-13 Haze, Amnesia Haze, Pineapple Haze, Utopia Haze, Kali Mist, Melana Cream, LSD, Black Widow, Blue Cheese, NYC Diesel, NL/Silver Pearl. 16grs in less than 5 days for 2 persons. Strongest were Amnesia and SSH, and even thought they were great they couldn't be a daily smoke for me. However, I liked Blue Cheese and G13 Haze a lot better, they were creative, social, and no paranoia, it was great.

After I got fed up with work (I used to work 60-80h weeks and I was in mgmt) I moved back to my home town and well... (explained above). So I decided I was going to start growing my own stuff. First, grow I did a GHS Cheese outdoors, I live at 7 deg lat we have 11.5 to 12.5 h of sunlight year long, temps are around 18-30C and RH 45-80% yearlong. I know I want to grow this MH outdoors really bad, but I need to find the perfect spot first. I got 40gr in one plant. Then I grew some GHS Lemon Skunk in soil indoors and I got around 30gr and 100gr from 2 plants, different phenos. At the same time, I have been trying to start a hydro food production business, and while researching for it I did a couple of test with MJ, and I will be running the MH in hydro.

Now, I have 3 MH, no show of pre-sex yet on day 25, I took some macro shots with my dslr and there isnt anything there yet. They are growing strong from day 1. They are short and started to grow their 9th node. I will start a journal later on and post pics, I'm really excited. I will take clones and run the seeds, and later select a temporary mom out of the 3 (if female, i'm an optimist), and run a new seed in each grow, until I find my mom.

It is interesting to note that they are under a 500W MH Vertical at 0.8 EC in RDWC since the seedlings showed roots in their respective rapid rooters and they have not showed any signs of overfeeding or stress. I might not have any sativa leaning phenos in this run.

I would like to play with environmental factors (as explained by DJ Short) to increase the sativa tendencies on my next seeds. I have to take advantage of my location to do that.

Sorry for the long post. I like these forums a lot, and it seems we are all here to share.

Thanks!
