Motivation Time

Kangativa those pics are without question, the most insane plants I've ever seen and that is after spending years living in Humboldt County. I've been mucking around in the garden for the last couple days getting my seedlings in the ground and now I have renewed vigor after seeing those beauties, Thank you for posting them!!!

Hey Kanga,

Judging by your height lets just roughly say 6 foot. that thai looks to be a good 20+ foot already and still has what a month or two left on it?

Absolutely amazing! Keep us filled in with that one, i just love the look of a fully bloomed thai.

Peace Afro.

Let's get down to brass tacks, when will the world get a taste of that Oaxacan? You have the best Oaxacan on the planet! Not that any of your other plants are wonting! Nice work, very nice work. TS.

staying with the hmong for a minute

What volume of root zone do you reckon a plant like that requires?
My thai and Kumaoni went to about 12 foot but i reckon its because they were crowded in the bed.
Do you give about 6 foot square per plant or what?

Its nice to see these plants in the great outdoors . Those are some huge plants . They must be from seed ? Thnx for sharing.

Hi everybody...just want to say thanks for the reps and comments always much appreciated.

Unfortunetly the Mango Haze got hammered by the wet weather we had this year, so I guess it has to wait till next season.

Anyway here is a pic of the Thai still flowering away...it got nailed by a possum who liked swinging on the top and a few branches, so the top has gone and its is looking a bit bare around the underneath, but still pretty impressive:)

This Thai is from the Phitisanulok area which is know for its fertile soil and farming.
It is was never grown for commercial sale, but private and has been in the same family for generations. I also found out that there was 2 types from different growers but also good friends.
This one was the only one of it's type as the others were lighter green and completly different bud structure.
It is currently at a height of 20ft+ and I am sure grown out in the open would reach heights even taller.

In my experience "open" (full sun) grown plants tended to be stockier but seemed to mature faster (can't say for certain due to lack of observation of same plants in different environs). My thinking is why yours gets so big is because of the indirect light (especially in veg) will stretch the plants.

It would be great to hear a report (smoke) of the two Thai. I tend to go for lighter green bud generally but it may not be a given in all varieties. Let us know how they turn out.

Hi Skunkha....The plants do get full sun, but only about 8-10hrs where as I could be getting 14 hrs, this would make them taller and spread out more as i have grown in full 16hrs ( different part of Aust. ) light before and they were huge.

The Thai's are still going, so no report yet:)

Its been a week since I've heard any updates on Kanga's bust. It would be nice if Mr. Mallard or Mr. Moose would let us know the status of Kangativa.

When I posted about full sun and stockier, I failed to account for different daylight length at particular locations. Full sun at a location with 16 hours possible will grow big plants as Kanga rightly states. If at another location the longest possible daylight is 13 hours maximum, then the plants cannot stretch so much and will stay shorter.

Its all academic now about big plants and full sun. I just hope someway that Kanga will receive his freedom again. It is a great shame that the plant continues to be outlawed whereas abuse of other legal substances such as alcohol cause more health problems both for the individual and their immediate society.

I hope you will be free again soon Kanga, best wishes.
