Method for finding legendary cuts!

Those that found there way to our community usually did so because eventually one tries to find something as close to the origin or the source of where something was created and by the original people involved...that is logic and applies for all breeding programs from plants to animals. Nev, and I did it for other breeding projects in carp, sheep, budgies, guppies, rucola, herbs and so forth. But since Cannabis turn around is so quick(10-12 weeks) it is appealing for breeding.
Someone hit on the real thing above. With original seed you crack it without inheriting any virus or illness, can rename it according to your own trait selections and inbreed it 3 or 4 generations and it is basically your own breed. So keeping old school strains alive and allowing those who are interested to maintain access to reliable old school genetics already start at a high level and hopefully go on with the job...as all of us did with generational hand me downs from previous years!
Breeding something new takes time and failures...and a lot of work. It aint as romantic as people think and you may not benefit as well as others from your own creations...! But those are not reasons to not try something new and dedicate yourself to following an idea. Being creative and expressing it can take on many forms...gardening is one such form.
Glad to see good discussion on all levels...all the best Shantibaba

Form, ritual, art. Another variation of Ikebana.

“Samurai would create Ikebana not merely as a flower arrangement but a short-lived structure reflecting man’s own mortality.”

Through this connection with nature, the heart and mind were believed to be purified…

"Ikebana, also known as kadō, "the way of flowers" or "the art of bringing flowers to life", is a traditional Japanese art based on flower arrangement."

Hey MNS Fam!

The more time I spend searching the site, researching and learning about cannabis in general I continue to stumble across people (even some members here) talking about having been given various legendary cuts. I’ve always just assumed some of the old school guys have made friends over the years and friends have given friends cuts. What I’m wondering is how the heck does a young buck like myself start making friends with folks that might know a guy, or have access to various legendary cuts? I’m not looking to malliously befriend people for the end goal of getting rare genetics, but I’d love to get to know some people somewhat locally where I could network with them, share nice phenos I find with, some some of their fav varieties and maybe eventually share some stuff. I’m not looking for the sake of going commercial or selling product, I just love the idea of knowing for example.. “oh shit I now have some legendary NL5 cut” or at least allegedly have some rare cut, that I enjoy smoking, is iconic and in many ways a part of cannabis history!!
Thanks for the information!

Cool thread here 😎

To the original poster:

What "is" a legendary cut, is in the hands of the beholder. What I mean by this is - generally growers finding such legendary cuts are putting in the hard work germinating seeds, propagating cuttings and growing them out for testing. In older times "testing" meant sharing them out to as many growers as possible for return data on how these cuttings (or seedlines) have performed.

These days exotic and legendary cuts are less community tested and can come with a dialled recipe on how exactly to grow them (nutrients, lighting schedules etc), rather than being able to grow and perform to any decent medium, lights or fert regime.

I think rather than trying to dial in someone elses "legendary" cuts, you are far better hunting seed lines, and being in this forum it seems you need no tips on where to go.
Enjoy the process of seed to lungs, every seed having that potential to be legendary to you the beholder and your style of growing, find them, and they will be as good as any pricey legendary or exotic cut you might try.

I wouldn't worry so much about rare and unique old 'Elite' cuttings. Those things come with time. Your much more likely to find one yourself if youy look for them in seeds. You may just something that is unique, has not been mistreated, is full of vitality and ready for production.

I hate Sciaridae.

strawberry cough was one i was always interested in because of the claim it is an old nl5 haze.

I had visited l'eagle in denver as they are known for having the cough.
I was not impressed in the slightest with that smoke.

Years go by and i decide i should check out some clones of some modern genetics, but the SC was the main clone to pick up.
Ill share a pic of it if anyone wants to see how it turned out.
Simply beautiful plant and buds.
Slight hermy issue but maybe sterile, i plucked the pods growing at lower internodes but missed some, however havent come across a single seed.

Im curious about the authenticity, and would like to hear feedback.

In other news, im going to start some more mns seed soon.
Skunk haze for sure, and maybe the cure or pink floyd.

Id love to see it mate

This was purchased from a nursery, $30 a clone. Delivered to a dispensary for pickup. It was convenient.
I picked out 6 varieties.

Animal mints
Apple fritter
Floruit
Terple
Lavacake

And of course the "strawberry cough"
It doesnt have any haze character to me, other than the structure is not the typical dense cookie hybrid.

also back on topic, i havent done much in the way of getting clones shipped, but at another site i just saw they have a jack herer clone for $150.
Less if you buy 4-6. But i wasnt looking to spend any more money any time recently, or get anything shipped.
I did buy ed rosenthal super bud seed from sensi us. I had to give them a try.
6/10 germination started the day i received them.
