Aloha braddahs!
As mentioned earlier, I had planned on doing an EQ grow but couldn't find the seeds when these Master Kush x Black Widow seeds popped up and said "pick me, pick me." I've seen @axiom and @Ptree's impressive grows so decided to give it a go. Two strong varieties in one neat, tiny package, I am looking forward to this. 18 seeds put in a kelp and H2O2 solution. 36 hours later, 18 radicals are showing and the sprouted seeds are put into soil. Between this and the Holy Smoke, germination of 36 seeds was 100%. Thank you Mr. Nice!

This morning. I am missing one bc when I went to insert the seed to soil the other day, I dropped it from the tweezers and it disappeared in the dust on the floor, dang. I did find another seed in the grow room tho. Located on the Angel's Breath side of the room, I am guessing it was the result of MHI pollen. It is coming up in another pot and pics of Mango Breath? will come once it breaks soil. And then there is the plant outside from last season. It will probably be brought inside as it is a sativa and will not finish in time if left outside.

Aloha fellow firewalkers!
Going on 2 weeks. They are responding well to their first feeding from the other day, a kelp/fish combination. 6 plants were culled bc of retarded growth leaving 12 to work with. They were not as vigorous as the Holy Smoke in germination, with more variation compared to the Holy Smoke. There is one mutant that was kept, it is hidden by another seedling in this pic. Some fat leaves in this batch. I am trying out some new soil as my go to Happy Frog is no longer available at reasonable prices going from $14/2 cu. ft. to $28. I'll be interested in how well they do in this new medium $11/ 2 cu .ft. This new soil was mixed with compost.

Aloha fellow firewalkers!

The Master Widows are just now starting to show while the Holy Smokes are still undecided lol; the nature of these longer flowering varieties. I have prepared sterilized pots and readied soil. I'll start the re-pot process tomorrow for the declared females and will discard the males.

BTW, I picked up a new lens for my DX. A Nikkor 16-80mm f/2.8-4E.

7 females including "variegated" twisted sister lol and 5 males. My fav squat plant turned out to be a male :(
I realized I hate cleaning and sterilizing pots 🤬. It's the only process I dislike.
I've got some Holy Smokes showing up today but will put that in another thread.

Not gonna sugar coat it braddahs. I have hesitated in sharing bc who wants to hear a sob story on a canna website? Some of you already have an idea but ever since my GF came down with oral squamous cell carcinoma first diagnosed in April, my attention has been exclusively on her. We suspected something in December 2024 but had to wait to see the appropriate people. Our difficulty has been ongoing since April, with surgery finally occuring in June. The surgery necessitated the removal of her lower left jaw, part of her upper left jaw and part of her soft palate and assorted lymph nodes in the immediate area. The reconstruction involved harvesting her tibia from her left leg. She is currently still struggling with eating, speech, and persistent pain in her left leg. We are doing our best to be in good spirits thankful that she is still alive. The pathology reports so far indicate no cancer remaining in her lymph nodes and the general area. We thank God and count our blessings every day.
As far as the canna grow is concerned, plants were given to one of my posse to finish. Rest assured, I will be back in the game again to finish these grows. Thank you all for your understanding and the support and love you have given me during this challenging time. It is greatly appreciated. Aloha nui loa, mu

Sans tibia. 13 weeks and still healing.
