Mango Haze

I currently have three Mangoes drying and some SSH a friend gave me. I would say the smell of the Mango is sublime, as is the taste. There' a touch of Skunk smell in both strains, but the way it combines with the NL & Hz in the Mango is superior. It is also smoother and stronger than SSH. I think its one of the very top plants on the market.

Here's a shot of my biggest Mango. Its the one on the right, the other plant on the left was 9 foot tall there....so the Mango was about 12' - the 122 pheno you reckon?

Good luck with it Hemphrey!

Yeah, I just looked back on all the jargon I wrote about the 122 pheno and where I thought it was a good theory, I didn't express that it was theory and that I did not hear this from Shanti. My experience since I said that has not caused me to feel differently though. I however cannot ID this pheno on it's own because I only know it by it's vigor over her sisters. And because my stuff don't grow like y'all's.:D

That plant you got Bushweed looks like she's taking over which is how I would anticipate this pheno to perform.

That girl is outstanding BTW. Awesome job!

Peace.

Hi guys, I am trying to decide between Mango Haze & SSH for my first Haze strain grow. Can anyone tell me which of the two has the least generic cannabis smell? I won't be making seeds so it will be the fems that I am concerned about. Cheers.

Ahoy Fish,

I've only grown and finished the ssh and the outdoor clone kicked ass. Much better done outdoors, IMHO. It's still my go to daytime smoke and has gotten even better with a super long cure. Got a few jars of it left and I smoke it everyday....no ceiling.

Doesn't smell like much at first (sorta cat pissy, haze funk in the bucket I've got my jars stored in) until you break it up and then get hit with skunk, fruit and spice and a bit of haze smell. I think there is some phenotypic variation in shanti's ssh as I've seen pics of other people's ssh and some look more hazy and others look like they have more NL/Skunk in them. The bud is extra special though no matter what you get. Just good weed, period.

If you were looking for a more haze type plant, you might want to give neville's haze a go. If you've got the time and the patience for it, I've heard the NH can't be beat. Got some NH seeds myself and will be popping them shortly. Got to get the next round started and all that.

Bottom line: you can't lose either way, fish. Mango or ssh are going to deliver, regardless. As you can see, I ended up with a rather tall mango haze plant so running from clone might be the call for this line. I did veg mine for a bit longer than normal to see what kind of difference it makes yield-wise.

Hope that helps a bit.

Thank you for stopping by and wishing me luck, bushie! Means a lot coming from a grower like yourself. You and Kanga are master growers as far as I'm concerned and I'm glad you guys are here sharing your knowledge and plant shots! Wait...plants? No...no...those are trees!

Cheers,

HB.

Hey there HB, thanks for the description, and advice. I will take what you said onboard and make the impossible decision soon as I haven't done a run for seven months now and I'm suffering from grower's withdrawal. I move into my new "digs" next Friday so I will be setting up a grow space on Saturday. Priorities HB...priorities! As for Nev's, I will have a pack in my fridge before the World goes "BANG" in 2012 just in case it doesn't for sure, but I will grow out some practice Haze bud before I take the long and winding road to the best of the best.

By the way, how are you enjoying coco as a medium?

Your Pal, fish

Fish,

You thinking about doing a coco run? The coco is working out ok for me. I might switch to something else for the next round though just for kicks. I love growing in soil and thankfully, our outdoor season is just getting started.

Coco is great stuff, you just got to stay on top of it and water them religiously. Nutes should be coco specific too. This can add to the cost, but the canna stuff is about as expensive as the GH 3 part so....

It's pretty forgiving medium too. It's real hard to over water the stuff. As long as you have good drainage, the plants won't skip a beat. The other thing I like about it is that when it's been used and it's all dried up, it's pretty light and easy to mix in with the yard soil. Good for the compost pile too!

Not the most cost effective medium overall (soil is cheaper to manage, especially if you go with compost teas), but it does the job.

Hey cannatari,

Got some pics for you, man.

Here's the tall mango about to finish up week 6:

God you have shit for brains HB! I have always grown in coco, and it was me who told you over at refugee island to take your first purchase of generic brand coco and hydro ferts back to your dickhead grow guy who sold you that stupid combo and get canna coco & ferts! Fuck HB, you gotta pay more attention to what fish says son! Lucky you are a real cool dude, or I would just tell you fuck off as you well know. By the way, how did ...... take my final post there? Not well I'm guessing.

Your pal,
fish

Fish,

Sorry about the mixup! You know that my memory is like a steel trap....with a big gaping hole in it and rusty hinges!

Fish, you know I think of you as my brother from the other side of the world. You should also know I would never do or say anything to purposely make you look like a jerk. So, please forgive my assumption that you weren't a coco grower already. Not trying to rewrite history or anything like that, my friend. I simply forgot.

The fact is, I haven't seen or heard from you in quite a while until recently, and I just plain forgot. Out of sight, out of mind and all that.

That said, if I haven't thanked you for helping me make the switch to canna...well, thanks. You can see that I'm making good use of your advice.

Cheers,

HB.

Dear Hemphrey Bogart,

Why the fuck are you taking me seriously Sticky!? Surely you know that I know that you absolutely leave me for dead as far as growing cannbais goes regardless of what it is grown in and how it's grown? And I know that you know that I'm the sneakist and biggest bullshitter on the planet so stop taking what I say seriously, or I'll come over there and smash your fucking face in for you! :)

Seriously whatever your real name is, I respect you more than anyone else that I have met on these forums, and don't forget that or else.

Perhaps I had better go back to doing the smiley face business like I did at Geurillaville hey...

Attention everyone at MNS: If what I say has a smiley after it do NOT take me seriously, but if it doesn't have one I'm fucking with your mind. But if you get a response that does not have a smiley after it and you fell that I should not be fucking with your mind it is entirely possible that I simply forgot the smiley so please don't be offended. Besides, if I am being serious with you, you will know it because you will shit your pants. (fuck it's hard being fish and dealing with ordinary people when I gotta explain every little insult and abuse!)

Good question. As shanti has said in the past: "some questions just don't have an answer." By the way, don't call me sticky or I'll be on the next flight to AUS to give YOU a proper thumping!:D

All true. Note to self: stop taking fishy seriously.

Either that or you can bring back squeaky. Wait....on second thought....maybe that's not such a good idea.

Here we go with the caveats . Letting yourself off the hook before you've even been caught! Very smart. Your mental fuckery is certainly legendary and I have yet to find your equal either online or in the real world. Nobody ever said being fish was going to be easy. I'm sure you're up to the task though.

fish

Hey funny fish... It's kinda difficult to tell if anybody's being serious without some sort of disclaimer like yours.

Forums, like text messages, do NOT have the capability to show facial expressions and body language which only adds to the above statement.

Welcome to MNS. ;)

LMHO HB, and that is why I put up with your shit for brains! :) That and your grow reports of course. As for Squeaky, he even started scaring me in the end so I sent him back to my unconscious where the nasty little fucker belongs. By the way, I took care of your "place & time" delusion elsewhere so you can stop being "mentally ill" now.

Hey, MJpassion, thanks for the welcome, and for seeing right through my very "fishy" smiley business, but seriously son...that's "Mr Hemphrey" to scum like you! :) (see how well it works)

Quick update. Pulled the MH short a couple weeks ago after 11 weeks in flower. This taller one has been flushing for about 2 weeks and will be getting pulled this weekend. Smells excellent! Buds are rather smallish, but tight.

Nice job humphry. ;)

I'd love ta see what that baby would do OD, oooooh yeah!

Thanks, MJP. I have some cuts of the MH and black widow getting ready to be put outside this weekend. The cuts are already almost 2' tall, lol. They're going to be monsters (well, relatively...I don't usually grow trees). If everything works out, I should have some going outside here by next week.

I'm basically doing it like I did the ssh from last year: grow it indoors first, take cuttings, let the cuttings go outside and see what I get.

HB.

Hey Diddley,

I will try my best to get a smoke report up here for anyone interested. As far as which was easier to grow (ssh or mango haze)....I can't really say. Both had their moments of difficulty. The ssh seemed to do very well outdoors, from clone.

I really need to run more of these in the future as there are so many different phenos and I still haven't found "the one" yet.

Smoke report on the MH will be coming very soon. Thanks for stopping by.
