Mango Haze Grow Log

Hey Dawn,

I wish you all the luck for this run in harvesting some wonderful medicine for you and your wife... I haven't grown out this strain, it is definately on my list of "to dos", but I have read a couple times that the mango leaning pheno is not too common, so, if it were me, I would probably put the whole pack down to increase your chances of hitting that pheno and also to be able to better judge the characterisitics, phenotypes, of the line. Also, how big, long are you planning on vegging, and what are the dimensions to your room? From all accounts the Mango Hz is a monster, so fitting her to these parameters will be crucial. Well, just wanted to stop by and say what's up and you got a follower ;) Hope some of the members who have quality experience with this line get in here soon, because with the reputation these ladies have, you'll be ready to flower in no time ;)...Enjoy! Peace!

Hiya, Dawn.

I have to agree with GF. You need to crack all those beans if you can. This line has a lot of phenotypes and a high percentage of males. It will also benefit you to have as many plants as possible to compare against each other.

Here are a few more tips from my MH grow:

-100% of my females showed pistils in veg. IMO, this is a sufficient approach to sexing this line. Be careful however because, in my case, the most desirable pheno was the last to show pistils.

-Take the stories you've heard about huge plants and flowering from seed with a grain of salt. I bought into this ideology and had 3 pheno's finish under 1 foot tall. Most of these phenos are NL5 dominant. Only 1 of my phenos has the potential to stretch several feet. The rumors are true with this particular plant, just not the majority of them.

-Don't play any guessing games with this line. Between sativa pheno's that don't stretch in flowering and 14 week indica phenos, this line will keep you guessing until you harvest.

I'll add more if I think of something.

Peace.

Hey Dawn,

Just dropping in to say hello. Hope you're seedlings are all doing well and all that. It'll be nice to see how the house and garden line works with these.

Wishing you the best of luck! I'll be checking in on you from time to time!

Take care and keep it green!

Lookin' Good!

I would have popped 10 too for 3 reasons:

1. Keep the other 10 in case something goes wrong
2. 10 should b enuf 2 find a keeper of any strain imo
3. She can give phenos that grow like vines literally

I'd say u did what I would do, step for step almost. I don't do
the paper towel method, but if it works 4 u, & it did, right on!
The 1 u want 2 talk 2 is l33t or JessE or scorpion and hempy.
I haven't run her but I'm sittin on da beans. My plan 4her is...

Fox Farm Light Warrior
Constant, light nutrient feed
Wet/Bone dry cycles (veg)
Transplant to 1-2 gal pots
Flower at 1 foot height
Clone from the bottom
Worm Castings & Seaweed
Bat Guano bloom teas

I'm going to treat this strain like Blueberry,
and try to leave it alone as much as I can.

She's a work o art.:)

Hey Dawn,

I just wanted to share with you what I did last year. I grew some of shanti's super silver haze in earthboxes and they worked great. I grew the mom indoors, but in my opinion, the clones from her grown outside really out-shined the indoor mom.

The earthboxes are about 13 gallons, I think. Plenty of room for one plant, or maybe even two.

They're a bit on the pricey side, but they're built well and they seem pretty sturdy. This is my third year using the same boxes and they're still in good shape.

Might have to get a few more for this year's outdoors.

hey all. hey Dawn. Mango H is on my next order which will be going out in a week or so.. if anybody is interested in a collective/ communal grow thread, start her up and i'll be there in a month or two! . .. .jj

Hey Dawn,

Sorry to hear life is a little rough, but glad to hear things are on the up. I wish you well.

I have seen that type of curling before, but am not positive what the cause may be... my instinct and reason led me to humidity... is humidity low? In my limited experience with the Haze hybrids, they are quite sensitive to changes in humidity, especially on the dry side. Correcting humidity has been an epic struggle for me though...how to adjust and stabilize humidity in a tent when you need to constantly replenish the air within the tent!!!! Urgh!

So, what's the rel. humid been? Hope things are well, and don't stress over verbalizing the grow log, pics are worth.... ;) Good luck! Peace!

Hey Dawn,

Glad to hear things are starting to normalize on the home front. Problems get in the way of our hobby from time to time, so we just have to modify and adjust. Relationships are tough, but I hope you guys can keep it together.

Getting your truck impounded can be a costly affair, especially these days with local governments running in the red budget-wise. Glad to hear you can put all that stuff behind you for the time being.

I got to agree with Greenfever regarding your leaf curl. What are your temps/relative humidity? Other than that minor leaf curl, your plants look nice and green, so I wouldn't worry too much about it right now.

I'll be checking back in from time to time, but it looks to me like you've got it under control.

Take care,

HB.

Hey Dawn,

If it is possible to raise the humidity to 55-65% I think it may remedy the curl, but if not, you at least know it is not caused by humidity ;). Peace!

Edit: The plants look fine.

Hey Dawn,

Plants look very very healthy, man. You don't need any tips on how to grow this one, sun....you've got the greenthumb, dude! This grow is going to kick ass! I'm interested to see what would happen if you topped a few of those. When I topped my ssh last year, I got a ton of tops and it kinda bushed out a bit which was nice for stealth.

20 plants. Shit. They're gonna keep you plenty busy, but on the other hand you're going to have quite a few phenos to select from! I'm keeping my eye on this thread. Good luck with the rest of the grow.

Just wanted to give a post here. I have 12 Mango Haze females left from the 20 seeds started. I will post pics tomorrow and it will be the 3rd week of flowering. MH is truly a monster and should be run with 12/12 from the start. I didn't and they have taken over! I did not find the type I was looking for in a female so I will buy another pack later and try again. I did clone them though, just in case. I am very impressed with this strain over all. Super vigorous and healthy. Loves lots of light. I find you can foliar feed this plant ofter compared to others but it doesn't like too much food in the water. It is good to dry this plant out and then water it with no food and it is very happy with that. I am using the House and Garden line up this run and the plants love it.
Hi Dawn,
It sounds like you're looking for something specific, always nice to be focused. I think once you harvest and start sampling, you're going to be glad you took clones. Just make sure everything is labeled properly. With 12 females, Ive got a feeling you'll be happy with the end product.

This is a variety I have complete faith in, she is very special. Shantibaba and Nevil have did something to be very proud of. Much respect to these two gentlemen.

Hey, Dawn. Glad I stopped in to check out your progress.

Man, those MH got tall on you, eh? Nice growth on those, very healthy.

I'm still waiting for the MH I grew out to cure, but it should be ready soon hopefully.

Best of luck on the rest of the grow. Congrats for making it this far, they look very well cared for.

Hey D,

Lookin good, man! That house and garden is working nicely. Elmer touched on your pot sizes and I was going to ask you if you were planning on potting up or not.

Not sure what light schedule you've had them under already, but bigger pots wouldn't hurt. They're still in early flower. If I was gonna transplant, I'd do it real soon, but that's just me.

Looking good, D!

They have been flowering for 3 weeks now and I wasn't going to repot them as I don't want bigger plants. My space is limited but if you think I should I will consider doing it. They are in 2 gallon pots right now, I could go up to 3 if you think it would help. As much as I loathe doing it I may have to top some of them due to height restrictions. Number one and two look to be my favorites but we shall see. Some of my clones didn't make it, do you think I can clone these even though they are in flower? I would like to if I can.

I'd leave them in the 2 gallon pots for now, 3 gallons ain't gonna make that much of a difference at this point. No sense in disturbing them either.

As an alternative to topping, maybe you could tie them down a bit or maybe trying super cropping them? Just some thoughts.

Can you take clones? I don't see why not. Just veg those clones a while and they'll be 3' tall in no time. I'd take cuts from the lower portions and leave the upper branches alone. The cuts I took from the lower portions of my MH plants were over 2' tall in no time.
