This is a great idea and I would love to get some guidandance to push my grows to the next level (y)

Unfortunately I think a minimum of 500,- € is a fair price for this kind of consultation. But it's not affordable for a hobby grower like me :(

Basically a great idea. It's my dream to enter the cannabis cutting market in Austria. However, with a past involving illegal cannabis cultivation and almost seven years in prison for it, I can't get a business license in Austria. It would almost be paradise for it here! ✌️

I am of a similar mindset, where I would imagine Shanti's time is quite expensive so it would be a sum for his time. I think around 500 euros if not more is about right for a commercial consultation.

But I wonder Jakody, would shantibaba be up for a group session? I know some people I follow have a patreon, and maybe once or twice a month they will host an online discord chat were you can join and ask questions. Maybe a patreon of say 10 euro a month some of us would be up for paying for as a home grower, would that be something Shantibaba would consider?

To answer your question directly Jakody, I think a lot of people would love to do this, myself included, but I think the price point would be too much for home growers if it is 250+
 
I personally would have a consultation or “work experience”. Prices may vary according to what a commercial enterprise operating legally with a huge annual turnover v’s a hobby breeder/ somebody who is sick or medicating/caregiving themselves or looking to make a brand.

Somehow I feel a lot of the advice from
Speaking to him myself would be limited to the data that you have to improve on.

What’s a hour gonna cost me ?

I’ve got a seed line that I made that I gravitate to more than others and an initial consultation to decide on a strategy for bulking seed for the f2 and to find more of the traits of interest.

What’s 3000m2 and a consultation cost in Ticino? Would/ could I trim my body in flowers weight to pay for it?
 
AlsoIf he wants to sell his knowledge, he should publish a book. I find the idea of offering seminars for large sums of money very questionable, both physically and morally. That's just my personal opinion on the matter. I am happy to share my knowledge of cultivation free of charge.

I understand what you mean @crossandmultiply but I think the whole thing is a little more nuanced than that.

A book would obviously be absolutely fantastic, and I’d definitely get myself a copy. But I think we’re talking about a few different things here.

For someone like me — a home grower, and a hobby breeder — it would be great to get a few tips here and there from Shanti, of course, without it costing too much. But honestly, I wouldn’t even know exactly what to ask about my setup or whatever else.

I mean, should I ask whether I’d be better off choosing this strain or that strain to make some seedsf? I’m not even sure.

But when it comes to someone wanting to build a business and draw on decades of experience, I think that’s a completely different story. Just look around! There are so many consulting firms out there offering business development and all kinds of other services, and they charge serious money by the hour.

So if someone has that kind of experience, hey, why not, man? Let them make money from it. I think that’s perfectly fair.

I probably couldn’t afford it myself. But if someone wants to build a business in this field, can gain valuable insights from that experience, and knows how to ask the right questions, then I think it’s absolutely fine for the person with the knowledge to be paid for their expertise.

That’s just my opinion. I think we need to look at this in a more differentiated way.

Maybe even two books. One could be more like an autobiography, telling the story of all the experiences and adventures he’s had throughout his growing journey. The other could be more of a academic book, focusing on facts, growing, crossing, finding the right traits, and so on.

ASo, I think a book with pictures by Shanti is a great idea for everyone who might not have that much money and is only interested in growing cannabis.
