New forum member here, but old grower and breeder. People know me as either Growseph Green or Legacy Cannabis NZ.

I have been growing for over 15 years, and breeding for a solid 10 years of them.
I specialise in outdoor growing but like to grow all disciplines from living soil organics to hydroponics.

Here in New Zealand - I have worked in the legal cannabis industry with many dream job titles ticked off my bucket list including: Head of Cultivation, Head of Solventless Extraction, Head of Outdoor Development, Cannabis Expert, and these days - Cannabis consultant.
Predominantly - I am a consultant for legal facilities, and I sell cannabis genetics to licence holders.

Unfortunately the legal industry here is unfunctional, and with that of course it is also not very profitable either.
I live in a grey area in this country.. the legal supply of genetics to licence holders (without myself having a licence) gives me a form of amnesty in an NZ court of law.. I have won cases for cultivation via this little loophole.

My ventures in court and the legal industry left me stripped of my lifes work with cannabis breeding and genetics. Some community members hoarding seeds of my strains have been cool enough to hand them back to me to keep strains alive... Its really cool.. but honestly... I had every falial generation of all my work stored.. what i got back was maybe 5 seeds of each strain... Some only 2.. dont get me wrong.. im grateful, but I really lost the best stuff to police incinerators or corporate pigs with licences.
Holding seeds was dodgy to me... At the worst point...i had 5 raids in one year... I ended up trusting licence holders to store my seeds safely from police.. but they were never seen again.

Aaaanyway πŸ˜†. I am beginning to breed again, and after years of giving all the hype out there (cookies, mac, runtz, zkittles gmo bla bla bla) a chance...
I am finally returning to where my memories of growing are my fondest... The early days of skunks, durbans, afghans, and hazes.
I am so thankful to MNS/Shanti that these old lines are still around.. thank you so much man!!

So please join me as i indulge in packs of Mr Nice seeds in various up and coming grow journals. I am a book of knowledge for growing, and always happy to help, please reach out any time.

20 out of 20 of my Neville's Haze seeds germinated 2 days ago, and woke up to blessings in New Zealand. I am hoping to find at least 1 keeper male and female from this.. but who knows i might search multiple packs as needed.

AMA πŸ™‚πŸ‘ (ask me anything)

Looking forward to getting to know the Mr Nice communityreddevils far-1.jpg

Hi. some nice work happening accross the ditch.

I have a question, did the peanut butter blood get cut at the same time the photo was taken?

Your plants look amazing.
Hi Uncle Jack
Thanks for your comments.
Yes from memory - I did give her the chop either the day of, or, within a day or two of that photo.

At the time.. if im honest.. i was mediocre impressed and questioning my decisions on setting the lights 10 on 14 off at 50% πŸ˜…
See the pistels almost starving for light stretching out long n straight... I question if I could've got better results just going classic 12/12 full power.
The lab results blew my mind, and so far are the highest that lab has tested in the country πŸ˜‚πŸ€™.

Heres some more pics pre harvest, i ran:
1x peanutbutter blood
IMG_20231116_211013.jpg
1x Black jill (Black durban x jilly bean)
IMG_20231113_085638.jpg
1x Romulan x vanilla berry pie
IMG_20231116_210920.jpg IMG_20231116_210940.jpg
1x apple betty
IMG_20231116_213515.jpg IMG_20231116_210947.jpg

All grown in one big organic living soil bed - Scrog each plant getting 1m sq
2x 600w hps lights - old school πŸ˜πŸ‘
2m x 2m tent

Yeild was insane as was lab scores on all lines... Love living soil!!

Hey Legacy, nice plants mate!

I am interested in your approach to living soil, would you care to elaborate a little bit about it?

Thanks Uncle Jack, yes I am happy to elaborate my living soil approach.
There is a company local to me "Seacliff organics" which stock sustainable and organic everything one could want for good gardening, I use their products for anything listed below.

I use a garden bed on my grow room that measures aprox 1500mm x 1500mm x 400mm and holds over 500 litres of soil. I grow 4x plants in a bed like this.
Base soil mixture consists of local peatmoss, pumice, and worm castings, with a few base amendments.
Each cycle I start with a craft cover crop consisting of different clovers, beans, alfalfa etc etc.
I use Blumats soak hoses to keep my soil at optimum moisture, and use water only for that.
Once a week in veg i make up a drink that consists of:
Strained, powdered aloe
Pure aminos
Yucca extract
Compost tea
TM7 (chelated micro nutes)
I foliage spray a tri kelp, yucca mixture or straight water many days a week especially if its hot

I also mulch once every 2 to 3 weeks with green and or brown mulch.
In flower i feed:
Coconut water in the blumats
Langbenite
TM7
Aminos
K humate
And biophos

I foliage spray coconut water on the hot days.

And continue mulching and composting as dry amendments are added.
I get a soil test each round to see what or how i need to amend.
This way is a whole other level of plant growth i never witnessed untill i tried it. Its amazing
