Haze(ac) question

I've been browsing the strains and looking specifically at the family of breed. I'm interested in the haze varieties. I've come across Hz(ac) several times. Under Neville's haze x Mango it details that both haze A&C are males. If this is true how can there be a such thing as Haze (AC) as noted on all rock n roll strains.

Example U2 = EQ x HAZE(ac) as stated either haze A or haze C must be female. Or it should be wrote (EQ x HAZE A) X (EQ x HAZE C). Unless colloidal silver can be used to make a male produce female flowers? Am I missing something?

I have super sliver haze and mango haze presently. I'm considering nl5 haze, Neville haze, and the doors. Anyone know which haze is used in the SSH??

This gets a little confusing. Yes both Haze A and Haze C are only males, and the exact composition of HazeAC is actually:

(NL5 x HazeA) x (Skunk x HazeC)

Female NL5 crossed with HazeA male, Female Skunk crossed with male HazeC.

With the NL5 x HazeA being the female and Skunk x HazeC being the male, and the resulting HazeAC is a male.

I'm also fairly certain that the NL5 x HazeA is a different version of this cross than the one used in his other crosses that involve NL5 x HazeA (for example, its a different NL5 x HazeA than the one in Neville's Haze).

Hope that helps clear it up for you, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Forgot to answer your last question, HazeC is the one used in SSH.

Well that clears it up a bit but yet makes it even more hazey! That brings another question to mind. Is the strain nl/hz =NL5xhzA? I have an original amnesia(NL/HZ) from a free bean with my last mr nice order from attitude that I really like. But that breeder hijacks genetics. So I'd like to try it from a reputable breeder with original genetics the results might be even better.

MNS NL/Hz is with Hz C. The closest you’re going to get for NL/Hz A from MNS is Nevils Hz, it’s the mother, Hz C being the father. There is a lot of information on this site pertaining to the hazes, use the search function to research, it’s interesting.

Haze (AC)

Bump....

Just thought of a question that I cannot find an answer to.

The Haze AC male used for rock n roll series is (NL5 x HZ(A)) x (Skunk x Hz(C))

BUT.. Is the mother of the AC male the NL5 HZ(A) #122 i.e. the mango haze mother selection, or the nevil selection i.e mother of Nevilles Haze ? Im batting for Shanti's selection.

Thanks BP for shedding some light on this issue.
I keep thinking about that R&R series...
And in the very, very, end does it really matter?
Let's hear it for the librarians and historians!
RZA love the avatar brother- one of my favorite all time movies

I wonder why there isn't a RnR strain with the nevilles haze female that's used in Nevs mango and Nevs skunk?
(NL5HzA x SkHzC) x (NL5HzA x HzC)
Maybes it's too similar to Nevs mango.

Or how about haze ac x mullimbimby madness??

OK kind of answered but not really!

The mother of AC is a new selection of NL5xHz(a).. Understood. Check!!!
-But is this mother of AC the NL5xHzA(2) the same cut as NL5(HazeA) labelled #122 and selected when Shanti n Nev first teamed up? or a later selection when Shanti was officially MNS,,

I.e Does Shanti have 2 female cuts of NL5 xHZ (A), that he actively uses in his breeding, or was one selection used solely to create the male AC? And which one??

The way I see it, there is the original NL5Hz(a) that Nevil bred and selected his own cutting of. Then there is a later selection from Nevil that becomes the mother of SSH, and then there is Shanti's which is #122 which is the mamma to Mango Hz. This could mean 3 different cuts of NL5xHz(a) 2 of which were selected from the 1000 seeds germed by Nevil and Shanti, and one that predates Shanti and is Nevs original work from before this.....This is all deduction, from the varying reports and posts and quotes.

This is where I always get confused. I was under the impression that Mango Hz had HzA in it. It was then reported in some threads that the #122 was a selection of NL5/HzC dubbed “Mango”. And the fathers of SSH and MH are the same (Sk/HzC).

It’s also been said that the father of Nev’s Mango was a selected NL5/HzC male similar in characteristics to #122, not a male Mango Hz. Shanti at one time said there is no skunk in Nev’s Mango.

There are so many discussions about the Hazes in the stable its mind boggling.

Not sure if the Mullum Madness is male or female, I assume female. It would be nice if Shanti had reserve NL5/HzA seeds that he may be able to coax a suitable breeding male from.

howdy BH,

I believe there is a quote that paints a better picture about what NL5/Hz selections are used in mango products. I'll see if I can find it....

So, the most recent listed pedigree of mango haze is ♀NL5/HzC x SK/HzA ♂... the reciprocal lineage of HazeAC  (NL5/HzA x Sk/HzC),,, can you say Mango RocknRoll?. The beta testers that Jesse and maybe Hempy grew were the ♀NL5/HzC x SK/HzC ♂

Below is a quote from Shanti where he explains the pedigree information, one must keep in mind that Hz A and Hz C are related varieties from my understanding.

This strain is a parallel line to the Super Silver Haze, i.e. it has the same Haze father and the mother is a sister of the SSH.

The later quote is the one many of us who received the pleasure to test grow the beta Mango Haze memorized by heart, i.e. Same father of SSH by different mother plants from the same generation. Whatever the case maybe, the Mango Haze on the market today is superb smoke. The beta Mango Haze was very impressive in its own right, this particular version I feel is right up there with the legendary pre 98 Kali Mist. Todays version seems more Indica dominant, however it could be the particular batch I received. The question remains from my understanding, but whatever the case may be we're talking an elite line.

Then MAngo HAze was listed as....

Hi All

just to clear the air from confusion and before you all go making a legend from myth here is how it was done and is done still....

Nh is made from Haze C male which is made by two pure haze parents from 1969....then the female side of NH is made from Haze A combined to NL5 or NL5Haze A where Haze A was also made by two pure Haze parents also from 1969

Haze A is no longer alive only Haze C male is along with several other different sativa lines.

but plants with the lineage of Haze A are still alive and carrying the genes within.

SSH is made up of Haze C combined to Skunk 1 or Skunk HzC which is the male side, the female side is Haze C combined to NL5 or NL5HzC

the Mango comes from a parallel cross same as SSH but with one difference

Haze A male combined to Sk 1 or Sk HzA being the male plant, the female is NL5HzC
....that is the breeding of those three plants

considering the Haze A is no longer a male alive, it still is alive in the ancestry of some of the plants used in all these breeds

I do not have secrets about breeding but given the same seed batches we could all still create something different...it boils down to selection.

La Nina is the widow father breed to a pure Haze female...neither A or C by the way so I hope that clears up all your doubts once and for all.

There is no one other than Simon at serious seeds who follows breeding plants like we do.Most Dutch seed companies use females plants obtained from seed batches that were passed on to them or sent to them, making their origins a little doubtful at certain stages. The whole seed industry based alot of things on Neville's origins in fact , but none except Sensi Seed had the parent plants to replicate things time and time again. Whether plants dies or were lost to disease over the years...well most companies would probably not tell anyone, but think about it.How many back ups of parent plants would you need in how many countries to be sure never to loose an important line? As enforcement on growers gets more and more restricting rooms get found etc....and the law of averages catches up on you. My last problem with the Swiss authorities I lost all plants in my library...some 42 mum's and dad's...luckily we keep backup of all the most important plants in 5 different countries and have done for years...if we had not had done this then we too would have lost alot of heirlooms. I do keep original batches of seed from years ago also in several places just in case I have to go all the way back to the drawing board to do selection again...but that is as bad as it gets for us.

As you can see it is alot of work in alot of places to just keep things alive...not to mention the expenses and time factor involved.

Lastly just to clarify things to do with this site...well I do all the moderating alone plus the pms and all questions and answers....so if there is something wrong on this site it is me who made it. I have a webman to do the technical aspects but all content and daily admin of the site is up to me. Howard will be helping in a limited way one day but he is a busier person than anyone else I know. Nev is not one for public life or cyberspace...and due to family committments is happy to do some work on plants but nothing else.So I am afraid you are all dealing with Shantibaba...whether you like it or not.

All the best now off to Bologna for a 3 day fair....take care

Here's the one I was looking for...

Mango haze has both a female and a male side as it came out of an old batch of seed and both were selected by me in 2001 the same time as G13sk seed was also germinated from old seed. The MH female known as 122 selected at the same time as SSH came from a plant selection of Nevil`s around 1996-7.

All the best sb

OK, so from that ^^ I interpret there being an MH122♀ selected in 96-97. And the actual genetics used in Mango Haze were selected in 2001. And is he saying that Nevil selected this 122?

Then there is this...

The NH xMH was the NH female crossed to the 5Hz122.

There is a start to answering plant questions and I promise i will try to find time to answer or comment on others soon....all the best sb

in response to this mail;

Hi Shanti

What can you tell us about your nevilles haze x mango haze? Was the male used a NH or MH? Did you use the 5HZ122 female or a MangoF2?

Thanks
-MJP

So, he is also ^^ saying there is a ♂122 and that is bred to a Nevilles Haze female to make Neville's Haze Mango. He confirmed in a PM that the ♂ was from the same genetic generation as the ♀122. He didn't come out and say it, but you can deduce that from that quote as there being no skunk involve in nev's mango.

which would make Nev's Mango ♀(NL5/HzA x HzC) x NL5/HzC♂

The aromas and taste of the finished product will be the most wonderful surprise for the growers and their hard work: it will be nothing less than superb. The effects will be cerebral and possibly a bit trippy so use the medicine well. This seed can be grown both indoors and outdoors but will need space and it will be hard to imagine it as a sea of green plant due to its sativa roots. It has the potential for a holy grail…can you find it?

I swear threads like these are why we don't see too many breeders online, I would go insane explaining everything that went into each strain especially since it's always about the Hazes.

I want to know more about the Mexican in Early Queen myself. Oaxacan? something he found traveling and loved? A touch of Mexican leaves so many questions Haze hybrids are well known not as interesting to me, not that I don't grow Hazes just reading these threads are like watching the same movie every year for years I hate Groundhogs Day!! lol, Just when I thought I was out....... they pulled me back in!! :D

LOL! Agree with you in many ways Al.

Thank you Primal for the elucidation. Yowsers! I am humbled by the depth and devotion.

which would make Nev's Mango ♀(NL5/HzA x HzC) x NL5/HzA ♂
The NH xMH was the NH female crossed to the 5Hz122.
Thanks for digging all that up PH, I started looking back at some stuff but haven’t had the time. That’s the quote I was thinking of, I even made a comment in the thread about no skunk. I deduce that Nevils Hz Mango is (NL5/HzA x HzC) x NL5/HzC (a male selected with 122 characteristics), I don’t think the female 122 is NL5/HzA.

I just remember conversing with a few members a while back because I wanted to grow something with HzA in it and being that I’m outdoors the highest Hz % I could go with here was 25%. I settled on Angel Heart being that the mother was a select Mango Hz. (I hope, unless the mother of Angel Heart is actually NL5/HzC122, lol).

Nevil's mango kind of stacks up as Nevil's squared. N²

And they just moved to the front of the fridge :)
