Kash - Snowhigh Seeds has just made an excellent cross of the Blue Dream haze that we are growing out here with the Johnny Blaze.... Should be a blueberry haze dream cross.

That's pretty spot on L33t.
To be honest, the similarities stretch the bounds of probability, right down to the fuel types. The closest I had to some of these MM phenos was when I crossed HzB to HzC. Like the Haze also, the MM throws a small percentage of elites. I've now smoked two of them in what appears to be about a dozen MM types. Most are strong, but not noteworthy and then there is the good ones. As a friend said, you are smoking away and suddenly it feels like God has come into the room. I call it presence.
We're going to have some fun with this one.

" I call it presence"
I could sit at your feet-i refer to the feeling of the presence as prescience-a direct, real time one though cause after all, the presence is always there ain't it?
I'm happy to see the same characters from other forums:p
A grail unveiling party in the future on a remote australian beach?

One idea is coming into my mind ...... MM is NOT the same as haze (could be burning bush). Then why you people are going around that SUDENLY now LN has MM in it? In the pedigree from this own web it says LN is cross to Haze ..... if infact it was cross to MM wouldn't it be lying on shatis side?

I would put MM in the catagory of Hazes. I hear that Joe Pietri was saying that my Haze came from Australia. After smoking the MM, it's easy to see how he came to that conclusion. But he is wrong. That's what's so wonderful, not Joe being wrong, he's wrong a lot. I mean two separate Haze lines.
Just the other day, I was visualising a separate Thai Haze line, unrelated to Haze A or C, growing in Australia somewhere, which would be the perfect mate for the NH. Hundreds, maybe thousands of people put their energy behind the vision and "Hey Presto", the universe filled the vacuum created by desire and clarity of vision. The Universe, in keeping with it's mandate to be a giant wish fulfilment machine asked, "Are you sure you didn't mean Oaxacan X MM?". The bag with the OxMM actually had a question mark on it, just in case I'd miss the obvious.
Now you can see it as coincidence, I see it as a straight forward demonstration of metaphysical mechanics. It's all clear to me now, but I have been smoking M. Madness.

Heres a Quote from SB re El Nino/ La Nina that may shed some light on the subject for you brother
;Recently Shanti has acknowledged that Cannabis cup winning El Nino (now sold as La Nina) was a mating of Mullumbimby Madness and White Widow:

"The seed I used was from original seed grown in northern NSW in the late 70s and 80s of which some referred to it as Mullumbimby Madness...what I considered a Thai Columbian inbreed line from a fellow grower who had had it growing and collected the seed himself from those places in his travels. There were other strains similar viewed as Mullum Madness, so it depends who you spoke to at the time."
Quoted [via cut n paste from bushy`s compilation on Mullum Madness]

I'm keen to learn more about the Aussie growing traditions. I had no idea there was such a long and storied history of growing weed in Oz, I thought Aussies were more into beer, bundaberg, rugby and v8s, never realised they were also a bunch of potheads! I did 3 months as a roadie for an Aussie rock band in the 90s and they had two tin baths full of beer every night but didn't smoke weed, then again I also knew a gorgeous blonde from Queensland who was a total hippy freak and smoked like a chimney.

Sounds like there are soem special old genes from Thailand, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea etc still to be found in Australia.

just look at the map bh and you can see what oz really has going for herself, an entire continent located between 15 and 30 degrees parallel compared to say the mid50s that you toil under. it is a huge expanse of largely unpopulated land, some call it the last frontier. but yes, i've noticed too, some of the growers from oz have it going on imo. peace-biteme

Guys if i could get you to try what i have in the bowl now youd be clicking your heels with glee ,,, nicest toke ive had in the whole crop this season ,,

youll all kick me as its an unlabelled plant , it is possible that its nevils haze as i put a dozen seeds of that in .. ill get some pics of it ,, the plant is still alive . stronge plant ,, lots of single bladed leaf , very little leaf on the bud and oily to touch , greasy feel ..
some mighty powerful head stash ...

Males

My Son sexed some of the plants for me today. He has better eyes, and is usually a better grower then Myself. I have at least one Nevilles Haze Male so far. It has a good look to it. One of My Mexican x Orange CrushX Salmon Creek Big bud is male too. Bad ass lookin plant. I wanted it to be female real bad.

I may have only one oaxacan plant in there, I hope its female.

Well another bong later , had a few now ,, getting more stoned with each one , head sweats and eyes are quite squinty . not much herb gets me this stoned , definately a winner ....

Thats it - the Divine uplifting, cathartic one. Probably the influence in both strains of the same or similar, superlative Thai. ...

...A super potent Thai is considered the backbone of Mullum Madness (Kanga, Shanti's and 20'Thais, at least), ...

Thanks for the history lesson, Bushweed, now I understand.
Everyone, Check the above link out if you haven't already.

I have grown plenty NL5HZ outdoors, and it looks a lot like those Epic Mulumbimby Madness plants in your link:
I have had plants that were 20 feet tall, and just as wide, from that stock.

There is something in the air..
I can feel it, just like Nevil is saying, the mechanics of metaphysics, synchronicity, like little signs, on this post even. Nevil is closing in on it, I can feel it.

What better place to find it than Australia where all those crazy Thai hybrids are hiding... This smacks of Destiny.

He is going to find that plant, and then we will all have the Grail...
I have faith.

Bushweed, thanks for posting the link to your history of the Mullimbimby Madness. It's a great compendium of all the scattered scraps of information on this wonderful variety.

Also, I was quite surprised to see a very familiar bud amidst all those sativa monsters! ;) That plant truly had White-ness at its very core-- it was completely silver frosted with resin. Interestingly enough, the other of the two OMS plants that I grew (shown below) seems to fit 20'Thai's description of both the "SOG pheno" AND the "purple pheno". It grew spear-like with little-to-no side branching, and had a distinct purple-silver-blue-green. Both plants were exceptionally hermaphroditic, which it why they both left my garden fairly quickly. I'm of the opinion now that this decision was short-sighted.

The picture of the MM bud you posted for Nevil the other day sent me digging in my files in one of those 'aha! I've seen that before!' moments... It looked so very much like the Old Mother Sativa buds I've had the pleasure of purchasing:

While the quality of this picture is fairly crappy, the family resemblance is undeniable! Needless to say, the descriptions of pine-camphor are right on in this case as well.

I've got a dozen La Nina seedlings well underway at the moment, so I expect a happy reunion with these fine Australian genetics very soon...

This is an AMAZING thread - I can't believe it's free (I'd probably pay for a well-written and illustrated 'History of Haze' coffee-table book, but now I don't have to...;))
All this talk of the 'pine-camphor' notes in MM finally turned on a light bulb above my head - I grew an Orient Express this last year, Ace seeds hybrid of Vietnamese Black and a Chinese Yunnan. Very sat-dominant in appearance and effect, and that is exactly what it smelled like also (I had figured out the camphor part, but couldn't place the rest of the smell. It started off as what I'd call a 'sour camphor', but now with a cure the pine is def. there) I don't have much experience with sativa-dom crosses or Hazes, but is this a common smell found in most Asian sativas (inc. Thai) or might there be some Vietnamese in the MM also?

Ive got Ho's

Ive Got Ho's

I took clones of all the Hazes and Sativas last night. I clones all Males as well. The Maui Wowi leaves are the wildest looking so far. Long narrow jagged leaves. Some of the Hazes look pretty wild.

Looks like Im running 23 varieties that I cloned. I have 4-6 others here.

Hi Nev. With regards to the striking similarity between Mullumbimby Madness and pure Haze, having given the concept some thought, I realise that it is possible that the two strains share a relationship beyond containing Thai genes from a certain region and era.

Starting from the early 60s, intrepid American surfers had settled in Byron Bay (15-20kms from Mullumbimby) because of the fabulous surf locations in the area, and these were followed by another large group of Americans who ariived there to escape conscription to Vietnam. This can be verified by the fact that the Californian film maker Bud Browne filmed a large portion of the Endless Summer, the most famous 60s surf movie, in Byron Bay.

Growing up in Byron Bay I had many friends whose parents were Americans, mostly reformed hippies, and mostly from California. In fact a couple of my good mate's parents were from Santa Cruz. Most of these people smoked and cultivated ganja and it is possible that Thai stick seeds that arrived in Byron Bay - made there way to the USA, or conversely - an early Haze made its way from the US to Byron Bay.

It's a definite possibility.

There is also a large Jewish community in and around Mullumbimby, and these people are also great travelers, collectors and sharers of Cannabis genetics.

That story about one of the Haze Bros. meeting a surfer down the Cali coast and being gifted the purple haze may not be as far fetched as people think. If you look thru the info I collected about Mullumbimby Madness, there is a report from an early 70s grower who stated that if the heads were left until mid May (which is an early time to harvest a pure sat like MM) they would all turn purple.

Of course its all speculation, but its good to know that some fresh genetics have come into your hands, (as well as the superb Oaxacan) via a source who has tirelessly worked, reworked and selected them for their vigour and potency, and that they may soon emerge into the public arena.
