In a bag of primarily unlabelled buds, I find a small bag marked "?". It doesn't look like much, but has more substance than the Oaxacan and it's a bit bleached looking (gold).
Smells like fruity pine, pineapple you'd almost say, but it's not. You'd have to jazz the pineapple up. The telemetric nose sniffs for ancestry. It'd be a Oaxacan cross, an F1. But that almost menthol pineyness, wtf is that. It braids well with the Oaxacan fruit. It could just be another O pheno, but I doubt it.
It tastes nice, yeah, I'd have to say an O cross, fruity, hmmm, he could found a bit more of this. Suddenly it feels like there's a presence in the room. More has been squeezed in the same volume of space, like a bigger dimension inside a smaller one. I ponder this for a moment. Wow that's really deep! Well deep and wide. I peel a piece of paint of my jeans while I'm thinking of this. Idly I look at it. Far out! It looks exactly like a flying fox. It's a miracle! I mean, not as big a miracle as Jesus' face appearing on a piece of toast and weeping strawberry jam, but a miracle just the same. I'm saving this for proof.
So what was I thinking about? Haze. It has a certain pine smell that I find in NL5HzC1 and the NL5HzC122 mango is somewhat similar, but it can't be that. There's no NL5 in this one. It wouldn't do it any harm though. A bit more bulk and resin.
If I crossed Haze C with the Oaxacan, I could believe that it'd be like this. But I didn't and so it's not that. Mullembimby Madness? How would I know, I've never grown it or been presented with a bag labelled MM. At times like these, all a man can do is.... "remote viewing". The coordinates are about 20 months ago... having trouble zeroing in on this one, ah yes the breeder is not using labels... emotional overlay. Stop!
Nasal psychometry is all that's left to me. It's not Haze, but I'm left with a feeling of connection. The MM would have to be a camphor pine smelling type, if that's what the other 50% of this is. I've smelled that before in Kanga's mixed bags, but it hasn't come through this strong before.
If we knew what it was, it'd be an obvious candidate for a cross with NH, but it would be for the die hard enthusiasts. I expect it would be late and low yielding, although you never know. If a brother to this mystery plant could be found, I'd like to see what it does with the 5Hz, but until we find out what it is, all we can do is consider exquisite tortures for people who don't label plants. Top shelf smoke though!
N.
I hate no labels.
How can u even take a single step?
I'm gonna cross the Black Oaxacan(cedar, berry, coffe, tobacco), to some of my Red Skunk f3s, and then to my OTM male...so I'll check back here in 6 months or so....peace of Christmas cookie to All.

^ Nice post Kanga. It reminds me of all the young Aussies heading off on the hippy trail to London, exploring remote areas with youthful exuberance, and collecting rare and special genetics along the way. Once back in Australia and quite secluded from the plundering of 'foreign' seed merchants, they worked to breed amazing strains - most of which never emerged onto the global cannabis scene. Being an island and far from the US and Europe, breeding became a passion and the plants thrived.
I honestly believe it is the Australian breeders who have had the most significant impact on the global cannabis scene. I say that not to brag, as bragging is not wrong if you can back it up lol, but rather to highlight what these breeders have given the world...
Shantibaba
Nevil Schoenmakers
Wally Duck
Tony Bower
Garry Von Billen
etc etc etc
And all using unique genetics instead of re-worked and re-labelled strains.
SamS may have achieved some good things, but his way of doing it was in my view, plundering the plant for economic gain, or fame.
Note I added your name to the list of Aussie breeders in my post above![]()
The only problem these days, is that the Oz is full of strain hoarders![]()
This is primarily due to the plundering of Aussie genetics by Marc Haemorrhoid. I know that some of his people came to Australia, left with genetics, then bastardised them!!
hi all
hi Nevil,
I suspect this piny/camphor smell may well be coming from MM as you suggested. I havent tried the MM in pure form, but when I grew LaNina (50% MM) I found a lot of similarities to Haze in terms of smell as well as effect.
The more MM dominant hazy/sativa LN plants had a very strong , really intoxicating smell that could well be described as piny camphor vapor. Kinda like chemical solvent vapor stong to the nostrils..yet kinda sweet fruity camphor type , fresh pine/pinecone smell. I would also describe the camphor type smell as paint thinner/plastic scale model poly-cement glue.
Btw I had a MH that was very similar in the smell department so no doubt there are similarities between Haze Bros Haze and MM.
LN is one of the best mns hybrids in my opinion, a selected LN its easily up to par with a good MH , NH , SSH and in my opinion one of the best haze type hybrids ever made by man in terms of smoke quality. Shanti sure did a fine job with this one and I think a cross between NH male and LN or MM female would create exceptional quality smoking plants.
By the way Chaco , a grower posting at a different forum is currently doing a cross with a female LN and mixed pollen from 3 NH males , it should be interesting to see how it will go as this is one of the crosses I had in my plans but never got around to do it.
That's pretty spot on L33t.Originally Posted by L33t View Post

funny you mention the swt blue kashgari. I know you have mentioned it previously and think highly of it. I got my seeds from red during the boxing day blowout and crossed it with a male LaNina. I am growing a couple out now.
