If anything I would guess that the imported hemp strains probably watered down the original strains, of the Mayans and other peoples who were very advanced agriculturally and used marijuana extensively for sacramental purposes.
I would guess one avenue to use if you really wanted to find the best buds from that area, would be to find some old school shaman, Don Juan type, and see if you could bum some seeds off of him. You never know you might find one of the real Oldschool indigenous strains.

This is an excellent idea!..I strongly urge(hell BEG even) ANYONE capable of reaching out to any sort of oldtime and tribal type peeps to do so.I think the CAnna community would do well..and has a duty..to make a collaborative effort to locate and research/ preserve/maintain the 'hidden' gems. I wonder if any corporatioin are doing this type of research.

This clearheaded Oaxacan Has Black Calyxes and Black Seeds...

I smoked some Tanzanian with black seeds and black, totally black. It was very strong. It came in a stone, so it was mostly sticks, and loaded with seeds, and had to be cleaned down to an oregano like substance before it could be smoked, but it was worth the effort. Very Potent

so are u saying there was already cannabis there before they took the hemp there ???

Hi Donald,
That is exactly what I am saying. There is significant evidence that these cultures have been using cannabis, within their various religions as sacrament long before the arrival of the Spaniards.

They Came Before Columbus.

Its the name of the book....the Negros and Chinese....
...I made a thread on this subject....and it has to do with Sweet Spots and human skeletons.

If we ask if Negros said that Sativa and dolphins came from the same planet and not our own...then do we know where the dolphins live at some more famous middle american cannabis spots.

Argentina and the Yucatan....guatemala....their is dolphin stones of calcium in the argentina springs...we can match up some pretty facinating correlations and distinctions.

I believe we should establish a common taxonomy of heritage strains in the belt from Oaxaca, and south to Argentina even.

I think we can study the water of Chihuahua and see if we can feed it to these new taxes(old actually), because this is where the best water is.
...Then we can ship in some volcanic amendments in...and climb to the highest peak near a monastay...or go to where they sacrific the chickens in Guatemala...and sacrifice the Sativas there?......

Its possible but I think we need to see the evidence. I personally believe that Ganja spread to, or even originated in Africa, along with Asia, but far less certain about the Americas.

Id agree bushy ,, would need to see some evidence to back it up .

Let's not forget that five hundred years is way, way more than enough time to breed hundreds of distinct lines. I thought the Aztects mostly ate morning glory seeds, ahuasca, shrooms and the like. I never heard of em dickin around with boring old cannabis lol. They must have had some seriously bumpy trips if they were in fact weedless.

wow what a thread....i cant believe i just sat here for 7 hours and skimmed through 100 pages
I like where the thread is headed....good on ya Nevil, kanga, bushy, hempy for a bunch of Aussies you are a knowledgeable bunch and it makes me proud to be Australian

G`day bfskinner

The Chinese Skeletons were very Tall in south America!!...redheads in Cali..

It's all fucked up Guys.

Evidence of the Total burning of the Americas about 13k yrs ago!

...And evidence of metal books found in a deep cave in Ecuador.

You could wonder if it all started in one area, and finds it'self back again ever 26k yrs or something.

Don't forget the chixulub meteor hit yucatan 65m yrs ago, and a tidal wave tsunami swept into Huntsville, Al!!!

We've even found radiation in India, suquesting that someone Nuked their ass a very long time ago.

Repeating.....replacing...returning...rebirthing...puffing:)

heres a paper on cannabis origins and how they trace them ,, i dont see any mention of them in america pre european visits , its a good read ..

Thanks for the article, very interesting read...

Well I have researched it over the last few hours through Google, and have actually found very little about it. I agree with you that marijuana has its roots in Africa. It is generally believed that Humanity has its roots in Africa as well. I believe that that the evolution of both humanity and Cannabis, are intimately entwined. I think that there is a good possibility that marijuana is the first plant to be cultivated by Man, and it is not a coincedence that we find evidence of its use in virtually every early agrarian society, from Sumer to ancient Scythia.

The most widely accepted theory about the origin of the New World peoples is that they originally migrated from Eastern Asia. There is plenty of documented evidence of ancient cannabis in this region.

Most historians agree that the ancient cultures of central and south america were some of the most agriculturally advanced peoples of the ancient world. These cultures are well known to have been deeply spiritual, and used all kinds of halucinagens in their rituals and spiritual rites.

I do not think it is a coincidence that some of the most potent and halucinagenic strains of Cannabis come from this region.

This is the little evidence I have found on the internet to support the theory, that Cannabis existed in the New World, prior to the introduction of hemp by the Europeans.

" Richard L. Lingeman in his book Drugs from A to Z, page 146, "Marijuana smoking was known by the Indians before Columbus." After the Spanish conquest in 1521 the Spaniards recorded that the Aztecs (Mayans) used marijuana.

The present day Cuna Indians of Panama use marijuana as a sacred herb and the Cora Indians of the Sierra Madre Occidental of Mexico smoke marijuana in this course of their sacred ceremonies.

In the Ritual Use of Cannabis Sativa L by William A Emboden, Jr., pages 229 and 231, is the following: "A particularly interesting account of a Tepehua (no relationship to "Tepecana") Indian ceremony with cannabis was published in 1963 by the Mexican ethnologist Roberto William Garcia of the University of Veracruz, northernmost branch of the Maya language family.

"In his account of Teehua religion and ritual, William Garcia (1963:215-21) describes in some detail a communal curing ceremony focused on a plant called santa rose, "The Herb Which Makes One Speak", which he identified botanically as Cannabis Sativa: According to Garcia it is worshipped as an earth deity and is thought to be alive and comparable to a piece of the heart of God."

Ultimately at this point, while I believe there is a good chance that Cannabis already existed in the New World, I am far from certain, and it merits further research.
Thank you.

coca extracts in ancient egyptian culture, no coca plants in that time around that world, except central america ....

for me proof enough as an anology, of the "agriculutral" globalisation, long ago before written sources can be of help to us in that matter...

i mean, making extracts is slightly more advanced than growing just a plant, who knows ... maybe they found it not even worth mentioning, bc its so common ... anyways, that knowledge must have been two fold, not just one way ... problem is the historical source, which is only one way in that matter...

common sense tells us, its more than likley that our plant was already around the globe before written history even starts

archeologically speaking, its not worth to hunt down ganja, those findings are always by-findings of more intresting things, you got funds for...
maybe one day ...

In a bag of primarily unlabelled buds, I find a small bag marked "?". It doesn't look like much, but has more substance than the Oaxacan and it's a bit bleached looking (gold).
Smells like fruity pine, pineapple you'd almost say, but it's not. You'd have to jazz the pineapple up. The telemetric nose sniffs for ancestry. It'd be a Oaxacan cross, an F1. But that almost menthol pineyness, wtf is that. It braids well with the Oaxacan fruit. It could just be another O pheno, but I doubt it.
It tastes nice, yeah, I'd have to say an O cross, fruity, hmmm, he could found a bit more of this. Suddenly it feels like there's a presence in the room. More has been squeezed in the same volume of space, like a bigger dimension inside a smaller one. I ponder this for a moment. Wow that's really deep! Well deep and wide. I peel a piece of paint of my jeans while I'm thinking of this. Idly I look at it. Far out! It looks exactly like a flying fox. It's a miracle! I mean, not as big a miracle as Jesus' face appearing on a piece of toast and weeping strawberry jam, but a miracle just the same. I'm saving this for proof.
So what was I thinking about? Haze. It has a certain pine smell that I find in NL5HzC1 and the NL5HzC122 mango is somewhat similar, but it can't be that. There's no NL5 in this one. It wouldn't do it any harm though. A bit more bulk and resin.
If I crossed Haze C with the Oaxacan, I could believe that it'd be like this. But I didn't and so it's not that. Mullembimby Madness? How would I know, I've never grown it or been presented with a bag labelled MM. At times like these, all a man can do is.... "remote viewing". The coordinates are about 20 months ago... having trouble zeroing in on this one, ah yes the breeder is not using labels... emotional overlay. Stop!
Nasal psychometry is all that's left to me. It's not Haze, but I'm left with a feeling of connection. The MM would have to be a camphor pine smelling type, if that's what the other 50% of this is. I've smelled that before in Kanga's mixed bags, but it hasn't come through this strong before.
If we knew what it was, it'd be an obvious candidate for a cross with NH, but it would be for the die hard enthusiasts. I expect it would be late and low yielding, although you never know. If a brother to this mystery plant could be found, I'd like to see what it does with the 5Hz, but until we find out what it is, all we can do is consider exquisite tortures for people who don't label plants. Top shelf smoke though!

I've been after Oaxacan in its pure form for quite a while as some of the Chocolate Thai x Oaxacan that was grown recently was some top shelf sativa. Something very special about that bud..

Unlabeled bags... god I have too many of them... ouch! I hope that some crazy occurrence happens and you end up finding out what that bud is Nev and someone will bring up the bag marked with a "?" that they gave ya in a conversation. Stuff like that makes my brain hurt thinking about it!

I'm about to have this golden colored, tutti fruity mango smelling bud - oldschool shit..

except this one has the most distinct redolence of sandalwood incense LOL!
