You are missing the point of the grail Caligula (strange username name for a girl.)
The grail is about creating the the next great haze hybrid with combinations that take it to the next level.
Doc is making crosses with prime NorCal strains that are considered top of the line in that market (and elsewhere) today.
Among his strains are rare strains no longer widely grown and only available to Doc because of the relationships he and his son have developed over the years.
Although it may not be what YOU want to see, his work is definitely Grail worthy and is part of the quest.
Each person's personal Grail should probably be a little different that someone else. We are all individuals after all.
What would your be? Purple afghan x columbian gold?
Maybe a little Malawi thrown in for trippiness?
That's very true... Peoples' ideas of the grail are always going to be different. However, I think we can all agree you're not going to find it in a pack of seeds from DNA. Dr. Purpur has some wonderful things packing a punch I'm sure. Wasn't meant to insult, just to get him to bring out some more of his sativa beauties. We can see any of those threads on California and dutch strains at any of the newbie sites, however he's mentioned some rare gems he has, that's what *I* would personally like to see.
And you don't like my username? Would you rather it be PrettyInPink or something like this? I can't suppose I could get much more clever than Cptn.
I'm not sure what the Purple Afghan x Columbian Gold or Malawi is referring to other than that you might still assume I'm British Hempire like Hempy made an allusion to. Though I would agree a Purple Afghan might be a little special, BH's Purple Afghan x Thai was very unique, I know many that would agree. but as far as a haze, it's a little out of the question. Maybe you forgot what haze is? I thought this was a grail haze thread...not a grail hybrid thread? If so, I would think that the Monkey's Haze would be an excellent choice to be showing off in here.

I have another name that suits me better and want to change it so bad, but I have actually contributed here under this name and don't want to lose the connection :-(I have looked around a few forums and found you are not on 420 or ICmag under this username, but do have a few posts on the Farm with a user started the same time as this one here.
If you are wondering why people suspect you are actually a troll account for another user, it is because you came out of nowhere and reflect an intimate knowledge of "the scene" (web personalities, controversies, etc.) without having any traceable history of involvement in it. Perfect example would be you knowing B_H and what his pet strains are. Now, this could be explained by saying you were a lurker for a long time, but frankly, it LOOKS just like when someone is building a troll account.
Anyway, I will try to keep an open mind that you are not B_H and will try to read your posts with an objective eye and wait for signs that you are not who you say you are.
Just so you know, I like a lot of what B_H contributes.
It is his penchant for using multiple screen names for stirring up trouble that I could do without.

You wouldnt think so, and neither would I. I have concerns about their work, and a lack of respect due to stories Ive heard about them.
BUT, it is what it is. Because of its strength, and quality, its a hot topic around here. Daily topic. I will probably send out samples to a Lab.This plant may be a bit stronger then Headband
The plant never hermies. The buds are rock solid. The flavor is unique, almost like a top OG Kush with a breath of pine.
Crosses are complete on all Kush mothers, and some sativas. Tomorrow I will be pollenating Haze plants. We will have a meeting tonight or tomorrow to discuss what we want to accomplish in these crosses, and which pollens will be used.
Sounds like a lot of fun Doc.

I have wondered several times if you have a plan for for what the end state of your crosses would be. A breeding map so to speak.

I just wanted to compliment Dr Purpur on his work and specifically with making and testing all those crosses. I seriously wish I could get some of your beans. Let's not forget what someone said a couple of thousand posts back about it would be nice if the grail was something that we could grow indoors in a reasonable amount of time and not just for people who can grow outdoors near the equator. I am intrigued by the MM x NH posting someone made recently...........

We have some weather changes here today. Tarps, ropes, and tie offs are ready to go up as needed, If necessary.
The Haze plants still have a long way to go. It was decided that due to Haze plants being surrounded by nearly ripe Kush, the pollenation will be postponed for 7-10 days.
The plan is multi layered, and in a state of flux. The first step(when this thread began) was aquiring Sativa and Haze seeds from many seed companies, and run them, saving clones of everything female and special males as well. All good males were run seperate and pollen was collected and stored. All females were sampled and anything not top shelf was disposed of,or given away. We then began sorting through seeds aquired through the years in both central and northern Cali. Those are in different stages of completion right now. Several of the crosses made in the first Sativa/Haze run, have been given out to locals, and are in different stages of completion as well. We are smoking early samples, and so far everything we gave out has been very good
