maybe thats why he chose to only use it in hybrids being aware of the potential for the intersexed trait to rear its ugly head ,,,
i could be wrong , did anyone see any releases of it alone , unhybridized ??
 
so no licorice flavor at all, itsbeenfun? i thought that was a singular trait to durban at one time? the seed catalogs used to reference durban and durban poison, with the poison being a simple hyb. but you guys are stating there is no such thing as durban today? or at least what is being offered by vendors? good thing we have folks like arjan and franco dropping off kilos of seed to these remote areas. omg, the world as we know it is ending. peace-biteme
 
i think most of the stock must be from SamS, most of the dutch houses seem to carry the DP X Sk1.

I've only seen 2 vars listed uncrossed.

there is a lot of what gets sold as d.p in town here, It really is a great smoke, so i've been looking for it.
 
Im sitting on 20 seeds of Afropips Durban Poison. Eventually Ill get around to starting them. Not sure if they carry the Anise trait, but thats what Ive always read as knowing its real DP, but no clue if its true or not. Ive never had the pleasure of smoking any DP before, so who knows.

Ill definitely be making seeds though one day if it turns out good.

i asked for them from seebou but got the mixed instead, seedsman has sams old stock, i like the effects as u describe, think i'll be getting them

I wouldnt say none at all, soft at best and i love jagermeister so i would think it would be more noticeable but could very well have been the specimens i got. Not stating there is no more durban, just unsure of where a good soarce is now-a-days.

Could you describe the smoke for us coop? The pure form may be hard to tame as ive heard, even SamS was difficult, immpossible to deny something very special is locked in there tho.

Billy, the only way i can descibe them is as amphetaWEED! Heart feeling like its gonna pound right though your chest. Beware of a difficult line to work with if you plan on doing any seed making. Its an imperfect world so fuck it and thro the cards into the wind and see where they fall ;)

After all the African landrace talk, today i decieded to visit an old outdoor plot where i once grew SamS (DP x Skunk) x sensi (hasplant) that went heri rampant after inbreeding once. There is one lone small plant growing there in the wild, i saw no male flowers but two seeds maturing. Just like i remember it, smells like candy but will not translate into flavor. I will go back and take a pic with my phone for shits and giggles.
 
F2 Oakland Haze Pheno 2

This pheno of Oakland Haze was not as over the top as pheno 3 but still a fine girl, and a wonderful smoke.

Well first off is the flavor, I was luck enough to used to get to smoke this dp x hp that goes back years, I notice a lot of the same earthiness and spiciness.
The buds are nice thick/chunky earthy kinda of pine smelling. I compare it a lot to the flavor of Jack Herer.

The high is sativa, kinda racy and stimulating, but either this stuff is watered down or not grown long enough but its not something that blows me away. But its a great day time smoke.

Anyone ever hear of holy smoke seeds? they are selling a mozembique poision and malawai gold.

The seeds labeled Marks mex are very old jet black seeds. They are probably old Mexican or Columbian. There are two per in those three, so 6 total. They will be interesting to run, if they come up ;)
 
I started a Pollenation. The male is a LS1 pheno. Its Humboldt California Orange x Blueberry x Salmon Creek Big bud clone x LS1 "Blue Money"."Blue Crush" Im halfway complete. Im in for a break. A cold beer and a bong load of Diesel Hash.

Heres the Pollenation Ive completed so far:

LA Conf x #590 Blue Crush (LS1 Pheno)
Miss Conf #1 x #590 Blue Crush (LS1 Pheno) (Contains MNS Genetics)
Miss Conf #2 x #590 Blue Crush (LS1 Pheno) (Contains MNS Genetics)

Lavender Lights x #590 Blue Crush (LS1 Pheno) (Contains antique NL5)

Im going to hit select branches on the Sativas next. (Maui, Panama etc) Ill do this Headband cut as well
The Mango and Nevilles will get it next week.

Harvest Moon

Yeah, its a Harvest Moon. I Harvested three small LA Conf plants last night. They are the earliest at 8 weeks. The haze crosses will be coming in at 10-14 weeks

I love this time of year. The maui smells like sweet tangy spiced honey, the Nevilles is just starting to put out glands. The Mango is a little bit ahead of it and is just starting to impart her sweet aroma. The Panama smells sweet like Maui. The LA smells like Afghan/pine/lemon. The Headband smells likePungent, fuelly, lemon, slight skunky.Loud terpens. The flavor is Kushy, Lemon,Fuel, slight minty after hit, smooth on the throat.

Thanks for the report on smells of what you are running. this aspect is the most interesting for me. Maui sounds great.:D

have you ever tried harvesting your plants on the waning moon? most organic gardeners do that i think. herbs with essential oils some say are more abundant when taken at this time (outdoor growers).

the Harvest moon was natural light for farmers and when harvesting wheat or corn. not a big deal harvest-time-wise as with herbals.

for me starting seeds and harvesting is around the same time: new moon or just before.

I snapped a bunch of pics just now. The first pic is a group shot of seedlings. LS1 is in that group. There are also seedlings of two OG kush clones, and three Seedlings of our Honeydew cut of Headband. One has fat leaves, unlike the mother.There are a couple others as well OG/Catarac Kush, and.................................LA Confidential/Mango Haze (Mangola)

There is no guessing game here. These are all clones that were tested and found to be top shelf. There is no mid grade weed here. And no, I do NOT use any Greenhouse seeds in any of my breeding projects, whatsoever.

Miss Mango Haze



This is an absolutely top notch Pheno of Mango. Everyone asks about it. Its very popular.

PS: The Mango male I selected last winter, and saved all pollen from turned out to be absolutely wonderful breeding material. I still have viable pollen in the freezer from that plant. The Headband/Mango was above top shelf. Unfortunately, that plant was stolen from my friend right before he was to harvest it. I tried an 8 week bud of black box. It was the shit"

I will be making more of those seeds. I pollinate again tomorrow
