im sure we are but a small number of the people that want to see nevil at work, see the progress he's making with the hybrids. see some of these plants that younger guys like me have only heard of.
haze was some special stuff, and he worked what he could and brought out the magic.
im sure he has several varieties now, that with a little work, he can do even better than he did before.
he believes he will, and i do too.

I can understand why...he got on here to help, teach, and HONESTLY inform us of what he did in the past...some of us just couldn't handle that...

I wanted to inform the Grail followers that I was popping some of my Golden Tiger seeds from Ace I purchased in 2009-10(?). Most of you know it is an F1 sativa cross of a Maeo Thai (male)x Malawi Gold (female).

I could find next to NO grow info on the www on this strain...it seems like a possible match but I might be wasting my time.? Anyone know about the GT?

Hopefully he not pissed that he cuts off ties with MNS. I'm sure even the haters would grow 'the grail' if it were finished. I hope well still be able to get his seeds somewhere if not here.

There are some grow logs/reports over at icmag in the ace forum. Ive thought about picking it up too, but Im gonna wait for their regular malawi gold release next year.

It seems I ran Golden Tiger last winter, I just cant remember what happened. Ill have to look in my stash, and maybe back at some of the thread. Seems like it was Thai flavored weed. It may have been in a one gallon pot. I think it was pretty good. Most Ace plants were very good. I think thats where the big greenHaze Thai plants came from , and they fucking rocked

the strain 'blue crush' just rang a bell dr. purpur, as i believe i just acquired this one in seed form. was it once called 'stormy orange dream' by the original breeder? glad you like it as i have high hopes for her and the nine week flower window. peace-biteme
 
NL#5 Seeds

In the 1990 Seed Bank Catalog Nevil announced that after 8 generations of breeding, he was now able to produce the NL#5 plant via seeds and that they would be released in 1991.
What kept that from happening?
Are selections from that breeding project what was used to produce the MNS Ortega available today?

What kept that from happening was Nevil got bust, the seeds were lost thanks to the cops.

Ortega is not related to NL5, it's the Maple Leaf line from Jim Ortega.
 
Hey Purpur - where is your Maui Wowee line from? You don't see any real cuts of Maui Wowwee too often anymore, kind of a shame. Snowhigh is going to be working a Maui line based on the cut from Eddie Lepp and Seeds that I have left from Jeanie Herer. It'll be nice to have more than just the one cut left, I'd love to see some pics of yours!

Also - do your magic cut sensing work and grab some LA Affie and toss that LA confidential - You'll be thanking yourself to the ends of times. Avoid the fake Bubba cuts being slung around as well masquerading as the Aff. It's got a very Acrid true Afghjani Smell/. It's what the LA Confidential line was based on before it got watered down.

That's news to me. I know they entered LA Affie in the cannabis cup to win AS LA Confidential. As far as I knew their seedstock was based on the LA Affie.

The Maui, while it is wonderful weed, is not the old true elephant weed. It is a haze or Sativa. fairly solid buds, great sweet haze like flavor. It came from Sativa seed bank.

The LA I grew from seed. I rolled the dice and won big with that one. Its been going for about 2 years and everybody loves it. It has a deep rich afghan flavor and OG Kush headrushes. It doesnt have the lemon incence that Headband has, but it earns top honors, both in the garden and in the bong.

The Blue Crush was produced some years back by Me. Thats the plant that had top buds, the size of footballs. It has a very different, very special strong flavor. It is also very prone to insect attacks while in bud

Yeah right, DNA told the truth, same as they told the truth about Cannaloupe Haze being Michoacan x Haze Bros Haze.

They lied, quite a few of their mother plants came from bagseed, the mother of MMG and Chocolope were both bagseeds too.
 
The haze brothers collected bagseed, and crossed the best they could find together.

Someone somewhere might try to tell you that this isn't really breeding.

To anyone who might suggest this, I would advise him to look up the term in the dictionary.

For a minute I thought you were BH ,but he is smarter than that.

Affie has always had my attention La con is a fave of mine.The story about the affie told by DNA coincides with Dusty's story .Now we have matt speaking on it as well IMO that confirms there story is true

The MMG lineage was exposed if you refer to lambsbread as bagseed maybe soo but they were honest about the rest of the lineage an Chocolope is from Choc thai which is from Drawoh or somthin like that

Thanks for replying to the question in my signature line Orangutang.

Your statement conflicts with the published seed description and Shanti's own statements on the board about where the strain comes from.

I have heard many people say that it has Ortega sourced genes in it but Shanti has never said that.

Dutch Passion has a strain they call ortega that has been out for a while. It is supposed to be NL#1 x "Maple Leaf" (a lot easier to just say Maple leaf than to say a selection from the diverse indica family provided to Nevil by Jim Ortega.)

Shanti says it is a selection/crosss from old Nev NL seeds from 1987.

The Sensi version is also said to be a selection of Nev's seeds done in Switzerland.

So tell me mate, what is your source that identifies it as being from Jim Ortega?

If you look in the forum in the section i belive it was 1990 seedbank catalogue you will read that i was one of the only people who recieved these seeds nev was arrested in australia , so he sold to sensi seeds and alan and ben dronkers decieded they didnt want to release pure strains because it would hurt there biz so they destroyed the seeds theres pics of the bulk bag i purchased through marcel nevs manager thats the true story behind those seeds http://www.mrnice.nl/forum/4-talk-shantibaba-mrnice/5594-1990-seed-pick-up-cannabis-castle.html
